A Manchester Meet up?

Seems there a few Manchester MNers who would like a meet up.

I know the SHineys are having one but feels wrong to gate crash if we haven;t posted!!

I am not volunteering to organise one, just starting a thread so other people can

I am far to lazy and likely to change my mind to do that!!

bilblio...head for the Orient Carpark, then straight inside to the eating areas

Giraffe is on the top floor

KFP, that is a shame you aren't coming

aren't Manchester people all straight as a die though ?

< twitches >

suwoo · 01/03/2010 21:01

There aint no trolls gonna be bothered coming to our meet up.

Sorry, but I just don't get all this panic stations business. We're meeting in a RL place, with RL people. If a hairy handed trucker turned up we might just notice

Sorry if I'm being harsh, I just don't understand.

bilblio · 01/03/2010 21:05

Thanks AF. I can't believe I'm going back on my pledge of never going to the Trafford Centre.... I want to avoid getting lost at all costs.

AnyFucker · 01/03/2010 21:06

I'll biff 'em

I'm 'ard, I am

Its not that SUwoo - its hard to explain properly.

I am not comfortable with strangers, but meeting people who's name you have seen on a regular basis for a number of years is one thing. There are names that i don't recognise which is making me a bit nervous, the meet up is in a food place and i am in full food panic mode at the moment and i am just a big chicken

AnyFucker · 01/03/2010 21:24

kfp, I get ya

you have to do what you are comfortable with

suwoo · 01/03/2010 21:38

OK, I'll let you off .

I don't think many of us know many names on the thread now, thats why I started the facebook group to put faces to names etc and see hopefully that we were all real

It sounds like it might just be a bit too 'full on' for you then KFP as it seems to encompass all the things you are struggling with .

I went on a MN meetup 2 Christmas's ago and met someone who has turned out to be my new BFF so I love them. Plus I speak to many strangers in a 'public speaking' way on a daily basis, so have fine tuned my skill at being pleasant and gushing when really I am a miserable bitch who hates everyone

MrsChemist · 01/03/2010 21:41

TBH if a hairy handed trucker came along I think we might scare them.

KFP it's ok, meeting strangers can be quite daunting, especially interwebs strangers. Perhaps another time

AnyFucker · 01/03/2010 21:49

we will keep your seat warm for next time, kfp

KentuckyFriedPenguin · 01/03/2010 22:52

Thank you for being so nice about it! I was fine until a few days ago!

Sorry have been absent from the thread! I'll be there with DS (6mos) and will be eating.

Best place to park at trafford centre IMHO is top level near Selfridges. However, that might be because during my pregnancy I was always staggering slowly (due to SPD) to their American food section (had to feed a weird craving for mac n'cheese).

Saucepanman · 02/03/2010 00:00

KFP- you can always change your mind, I will hold your hand! If not there's always next time (don't you want to see my comedy belly, it is enormous!)

AnyFucker · 02/03/2010 08:28

I have comedy hair < hopeful >

suwoo · 02/03/2010 11:58

I have a paininthearse comedy three year old

BelleDameSansMerci · 02/03/2010 12:27

Yank, I always park near Selfridges too. It's the only bit I know

Ruthymc · 02/03/2010 17:42

My name is Ruth i'm 25 and have a 9 month old called Lola. Don't know anyone with children so this officially throwing myself in at the deep end!

ruth, why don't you come up and say hello?

I don't think any of us will bite

this is the first time a lot of us have met, so apart from comedy kids, comedy hair and comedy bellies, none of us really know what to expect

suwoo · 02/03/2010 18:17

I might bite AF.

Saucepanman · 02/03/2010 19:27

lol at anyfucker

Actually I may have killed someone by then, so might not be able to come!

notevenamousie · 02/03/2010 19:30

I've not posted for ages - fell off my Threads I'm On page again - still planning on coming, count in me and my 3 year old, for eating, or whatever. And looking forward to it .

AnyFucker · 02/03/2010 19:52

ah, goody mousie

can you add any comedy body parts or mannerisms to the proceedings ?

a turnip nose, perchance ?

Ruthymc · 02/03/2010 19:55

Thanks for the reply AF, count me in. Looking forward to it. Plus I've managed to spell this correctly and not post twice - result. I'm going to wear a comedy wig so you recognize me. And Lola officially bites so she'll be in good company.

YanknCock · 02/03/2010 20:12

According to DH, I do a 'worryingly accurate' impression of Benny Hill, is that comedy enough for ya?
