Born in 63 Laura? Me too .

Mine are 16,13 and 11. The older two boys and my 'baby girl'. That's a fair gap etween your two youngest - are you shocked at the way things are done these days?

Laurang63 · 27/04/2005 20:11

Hi potty, nice to meet you
yeah, my two oldest are from my first marriage. I met a wonderful man in 2001 and we had Laura. We won't be having any more though . Angie

Need I say anything? I have 2 DDs - 3 and 1.

WigWamBam · 27/04/2005 20:28

1963 was a very good year .

I'm 42, dd almost 4

Laurang63 · 27/04/2005 20:35

She loves you by the Beatles was number 1 in the charts when I was born!! Don't you just feel so ancient sometimes???

Noidea · 27/04/2005 20:37

Hi all, 42 (not even whispered, but completely inaudible) 3 kids, ds 13, ds 12 and dd 9 months. Guess what - yes two oldest from my first marriage, met a wonderful man in 2000 and along came dd!!! We won't be having any more either although dp would love another one. I'm loving motherhood even more this time round (except for the sleepless nights which have only just come to an end - yippee!!!) Good to know I'm not the only one

Laurang63 · 27/04/2005 20:53

Hi Noidea,
My dh would also love another. I seem to have more time for my dd now I'm older and have more patience. I'm just waiting for the broken nights to end!

almost40 · 27/04/2005 20:59

Laura and noidea - what are your reasons for not wanting another then?

aloha · 27/04/2005 21:00

I was born in 63 and I don't feel ancient at all!
Have ds, three, and dd 11 weeks.

Laurang63 · 27/04/2005 21:04

It took 3 years and 3 m/cs until we finally got lucky and had Laura. I couldn't go through that again! One of the m/cs was ectopic and I lost my tube so I consider myself very lucky to have her

OP posts:
Potty1 · 27/04/2005 21:06

aloha - I always 'saw' you as younger

WigWamBam · 27/04/2005 21:08

I imagined aloha as younger, too - not an old wrinkly like me

mancmum · 27/04/2005 21:14

I am 40 and have 2 -- 5yo DS and 22m DD... would love another but DH would rather give himself a vasectomy....

Laurang63 · 27/04/2005 21:17

I suppose you're as old as you feel. I do have my good days!

OP posts:
Noidea · 27/04/2005 21:23

I don't see myself as ancient either but my body often begs to differ! Hence no more babies although I must admit I would love dd to have a sibling closer to her own age

Potty1 · 27/04/2005 21:26

I actually prefer being the 41 than 31....mind you I did have 3 kids under 5 then so maybe that's why I'm less knackered these days

Mancmum - DIY vasectomy sounds a tad extreme!

TinyGang · 27/04/2005 21:37

Can I join in? I'm 40 and have 3, dd is 6.5yrs and ds and dd twins 3.5yrs. Quite knackered but things improving! (3 under three was um, fun?!)

Nice to see quite a few 40's mums here - I always imagine everyone else to be half my age on mn

Laurang63 · 27/04/2005 21:38

Yes I'd hate to think my dd would ever feel lonely as she's growing up

DIY vasectomy???? OUCH!!

OP posts:
Mum2girls · 27/04/2005 21:38

42 with dd1 (4) and dd2 (2).

Lonelymum · 27/04/2005 21:38

I am 40 - born the last day of 1964. I feel like the baby of this thread, which is a pleasant change.

The Beatles were No 1 the day I was born too, "I feel fine".

I am quite happy to be 40. There wasn't any great trauma for me, leaving my 30s behind. Perhaps I haven't had time to think about it though!

Laurang63 · 27/04/2005 21:42

Hi tinygang! You're very welcome
Wow.. twins? I bet you've got your hands full

OP posts:
aloha · 27/04/2005 21:42

What a lovely compliment! To seem younger on MN...and I do really mean that. I'm all

Honest, I don' t feel old. And I'm not even tired. MInd you dd is a very good sleeper.

Noidea · 27/04/2005 21:42

dp trying to persuade me that I should be watching thw Chelsea match instead of internet gossiping. Home vasectomy on the cards for him too!

gingerbear · 27/04/2005 21:42

Hello crumblies, another 40+ mum here. My DD is almost 3.

WigWamBam · 27/04/2005 21:42

I know what you mean, tinygang; I always think that other MNers are far, far younger than me.
