OK, thought I'd bite the bullet and start this thread as we were talking about the possibility on the "we're great, we are" thread

Is anyone interested in a christmas meet up? I know it's early but you know how time has a habit of flying by... I'm happy to organise if so. You can post here or email me at [email protected] I'm thinking probably London or just outside London as the place and the venue depends on how many want to come. Like batey's idea of a 70s/80s theme...

CAM · 28/11/2002 12:41

Disaster has struck - I am fighting the mother of all colds and feel xxxxxxx awful. I may well not make it tomorrow at this rate. KS can I let you know for definite in the morning? Also, let me know if I owe you money for bowing out so late. Am keeping fingers crossed for miraculous recovery but not feeling particularly hopeful. Also, don't want to give lurgy to all you preggie people. Can't believe my timing.

leander · 29/11/2002 15:09

Have a brilliant time all of you. I'm really jealous and look forward to hearing all about it on here. Wish I could be there to put more faces to names.

WideWebWitch · 29/11/2002 18:25

Oh no willow2, will really miss you if you can't make it! Hope you feel better soon (like tomorrow!)

As its the first evening Mumsnet do I've been to rather than lunches, what is everyone going to wear. A bit dressed up as its for Christmas or not?

Tinker · 29/11/2002 18:40

I'm so jealous. Hope you all have a fab time tomorrow, I shall be thinking of you.

tigermoth · 29/11/2002 19:14

tinker, you must, must, must make the next one! sorry you won't be there tomorrow.

cam, the same thing crossed my mind - evening dress or boiler suit probably a compromise in my case.

Now, I am just going to read this thread ( wish me luck on this long journey) to see where the pre meal drinks people intend to meet up. I might be able to join you for the last half hour if the trains don't play up.

Me getting excited too, and a little bit nervy but know that's silly really! As for what to wear, aagh!

Rhubarb · 29/11/2002 21:22

Have a great time guys!

Scatterbrain · 29/11/2002 21:55

I'm SO sorry - but as dd has chickenpox and I apparently have never had it !!! (this from a mother who scarcely remembers what school I went to - and I am an only child ! But it's the best info I have !) - I think for the sake of you preggers girls and of course all the babes at home I had better not come in case I am infectious !

In my heart of hearts I know I am not and I was SO looking forward to it - but I could not live with the guilt of infecting 42 lovely ladies - so I'm sorry but I am another drop-out !

ks - please let me know if you need some dosh - don't be out of pocket on my account !

I was also really excited about the photo and meeting the founders of this fab resource !

Hope you all have a totally cosmic time - and I will definitely be there 2003 !!

jasper · 29/11/2002 22:03

I am deeply envious.
Have a wonderful evening.
Any chance of taking some digital pictures to post on the site?

Can I just say to everyone: please don't be nervous, we will have a nice time, honest! I realise that people might be anxious but I promise to talk to anyone who wants to talk to me. And we do all know each other in a way I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you.
