OK, thought I'd bite the bullet and start this thread as we were talking about the possibility on the "we're great, we are" thread

Is anyone interested in a christmas meet up? I know it's early but you know how time has a habit of flying by... I'm happy to organise if so. You can post here or email me at [email protected] I'm thinking probably London or just outside London as the place and the venue depends on how many want to come. Like batey's idea of a 70s/80s theme...

Atta-girl WWW :0

manna · 24/08/2002 21:52

I'd like to come, even though, I must confess ,that I feel that a load of you know each other quite well, by the messages you send. even though I haven't got to that stage with Mumsnet yet, I will have been posting for a year at cmas and am intrigued to meet people in real life, as it were....

crystaltips · 24/08/2002 21:52

meant to be

crystaltips · 24/08/2002 21:54

manna,
that was going to be one of my first questions - How many of you have already me - but then .... what the heck ...

emsiewill · 24/08/2002 21:54

Yes, yes, yes. Count me in!

crystaltips · 24/08/2002 21:54

ooops - already met .... sorry

batey · 24/08/2002 22:11

Wow, you're on the case WWW! Maybe Mumsnet could help find a venue and we could get tickets? Just a thought, depends on numbers etc.

MandyD · 24/08/2002 22:44

Definitely coming if its Central/North London!!

jodee · 24/08/2002 23:44

Witchie, what a good idea!

Manna - Emsiewill and I have met (London meet in May), but we promise we won't be cliquey - in fact, I think we have hardly 'spoken', as it were, on Mumsnet since! Most people were 'first-timers', and everyone got along fabulously!

(Emsiewill, I hope you don't mind me mentioning you )

Sb34, of course! I've only been to one meet up, in July this year so have only met a few people (in answer to manna's question) so I certainly don't know everyone, not at all. And I reckon it would be up to everyone individually whether they reveal their nicknames or not.

Jodee

Of course I don't mind you mentioning me - how exciting to get a namecheck!

Although I can now picture those I've met face to face, I hope we don't come across as cliquey. There's lots of others I'd love to meet as well.

MABS · 25/08/2002 12:19

I'm certainly up for it, if dh can babysit . Haven't met anyone as yet , but hoping to at the Brighton get together in October.

chanelno5 · 25/08/2002 12:57

Excellent! Would love to come along. Went to the meet up in May and really enjoyed it, would be great to meet more mumsnetters. 70s/80s theme wouldn't be a problem for me, I still wear my 80s relic clothes and my hairstyle is unintentionally bordering on a Jimmy Saville's 70s bowl after last week's trip to the hairdressers!

I'm always interested in a London meet-up. But before that, on October 5th please come to the lunch in Brighton that Mabs is organising (but I keep poking my nose in!)

SueDonim · 25/08/2002 16:45

I'm up for it, as I think we'll be back in the UK for a couple of weeks at Xmas. Will only be 'Darn Sarf' for a few days, though.

MABS · 25/08/2002 20:39

CAM - poke away, much appreciated

Rhubarb · 27/08/2002 14:20

I'd like to go if I can. Will know more when a date is sorted out.

Jendy · 27/08/2002 15:07

I'd like to go, can I let you know for certain nearer the time dependent on details and when.

dejags · 27/08/2002 15:25

I would love to meet up, it would be great to put a face to the names . Just have to make sure that DH can babysit and I will be all set to go...

sylvev · 27/08/2002 22:00

Brill. idea! Count me in, (depending on date, time etc)

Enid · 27/08/2002 22:30

I'd definitely consider it.

LTA · 28/08/2002 08:54

I'd love to come along. A 70s/80s themed thing would be wonderful, but the main thing is an opportunity to get to know others.
