OK, thought I'd bite the bullet and start this thread as we were talking about the possibility on the "we're great, we are" thread

Is anyone interested in a christmas meet up? I know it's early but you know how time has a habit of flying by... I'm happy to organise if so. You can post here or email me at [email protected] I'm thinking probably London or just outside London as the place and the venue depends on how many want to come. Like batey's idea of a 70s/80s theme...

OK, the date being proposed is Sat 30th November. I do hope some people come and I think we should stick to Da Mario. So how many are we? Please let me know and I'll provisionally book in the next couple of days.

Yes, still interested, still OK for Nov 30, still like the idea of Da mario.

florenceuk · 17/09/2002 21:41

I'll put my hand up - thanks for picking this up again, WWW.

jodee · 17/09/2002 21:45

Still interested too!

Twink · 17/09/2002 22:10

I'd at least think about coming if ks at least was going to put in appearance on here....but that's just emotional blackmail, Please show your face honey!

ks - you're back!!!

Bobbins · 17/09/2002 23:07

How come you managed to post just then...then??

Please try and re-instate your posts. I did a search on your name and can't unnerstand why you would leave. As you know I've only been participating for a while, but it makes me ever so befuddled that you and others are abandoning the site when you seem to be so valued!

And make mine a double (not sure if I would consider coming, feel odd about meet ups, but I'm glad it made you show your face!)

Da Mario, 30th November, I'll definately be there.

Bobbins · 18/09/2002 00:57

ks> do you think I could get your e-mail. At the moment I'm hveing paranoid thoughts of you being both madonna and Jamesk...which is quite funny really. Or you could get mine, that would be cool with me!

Willow2 · 18/09/2002 10:29

Put me and my brian down

tigermoth · 18/09/2002 11:15

ks - glad you're still here - I so hope no one is giving you a hard time about posting. Will look forward to talking to you (this time) hopefully at the christmas meet up.

PamT · 18/09/2002 11:22

ks, I would really like to hear the outcome of DS's dyslexia assessment if you do go for it. If you can't post please would you email me through Mumsnet to let me know what happens. Let me know how the driving goes too (hope I've got the right person on that one). Sorry to butt into this totally unrelated thread, but there's a chance you might read it.

CAM · 18/09/2002 12:23

www please put my name down

sis · 18/09/2002 13:47

WWW, are we talking about a lunchtime or evening gathering?

maras · 18/09/2002 14:17

Have only just seen this thread...I'd love to come - really enjoyed the May meeting - inspite of not being able to drink!! All depends on dates - of meet up and baby...(due beg December - help the weeks are racing by...house still a tip, baby clothes age 0 - 4 all mixed up and very unsorted...etc) - I think I'd rather come with babe strapped to breast than requiring a winch to get me up and down stairs - so hope for early arrival/later meet-up....Can't imagine coping with fancy dress pre or post delivery...not an enlightened Mumsnet idea!!! Bah humbug!!

SueDonim · 18/09/2002 14:31

Won't be able to come to this but I hope everyone has a fab time!

bayleaf · 18/09/2002 18:56

I'd love to come! Don't know London at all so may never actually arrive at venue - depends very much on Brian and he's not up to much these days

Enid · 18/09/2002 18:57

Oh I can't come, I'll have a (at the most) six week old bf baby by then. Which I keep forgetting about.

Rats!

Dixie · 20/09/2002 22:58

Ok, I've checked out my babysitting options etc & I'm deffinetely free for the 30th Nov so count me in!

Anyone want to room share at hotel with me to cut costs....please advise as we may need to book rooms soon too.

Also as said before...I'll be driving from Kent with 4 passenger spaces up for grabs...any takers??? (would be nice to have some company on the journey too)

Dixie · 20/09/2002 23:06

just re-read through the thread and someone earlier suggested a hotel & quoted prices for SINGLE & QUAD ROOM SHARING but the mesages have disappeared so i presume they were from ks.....anyone else know the area who could help out with suggestions....I'd really need to stay over somewhere but i plan to drive to the accomadation & leave my car there & get taxi etc to/from venune. Would dearly love to share with someone though rather than being alone as it will probably be my 1st night out since baby & all my other traumas (but i promise not to go on about it all - i'm out for a good laugh!!! I need one!)
