hi everyone, i'm in bournemouth too!

Tommy · 08/08/2004 22:14

We're Southampton but inlaws live in Weymouth so we're half Dorset. What do you have in mind?

Piffleoffagus · 08/08/2004 22:17

bournemouth is 45 mins away from me Nth Hants, would be well keen to trip down before moving up to Lincs in Late Aug/Early Spet midweek poss?
Esp keen to meet you Wk, after all the legend before you and your delightful dd i am told is a little happy ray of sunshine (I have one of those too!!)

wobblyknicks · 08/08/2004 22:36

piffle - will have to try and visit then - not sure if the legend would be upheld but dd would smile a lot tho!!!

jodee · 09/08/2004 12:55

Delgirl, I'm Bournemouth too - any thoughts on when/where/time,etc?

(Off to do a search on the WK Legend - must have missed it!)

wobblyknicks · 09/08/2004 14:51

jodee - don't look too hard, I think I missed it too!!! Think there's a mini-legend about dd though thanks to lou and jmg - she smiles at everyone to impress the hell out of them!!!

delgirl · 09/08/2004 21:23

hello Jodee, Merlin, Tommy and Piffle, not forgetting WK and any other MN's who may be interested. I know I started this thread so you're probably expecting me to come up with dates and suggestions for our meet. Well I can make any date really and any afternoon or evening and am up for most things apart from a massive drinking session unless it's of the non-alcoholic variety. So what suits/doesn't suit in the next month or so? WK, what could you do?

OP posts:
delgirl · 09/08/2004 21:24

There are a few other dorset MN'ers so hopefully they'll join us too

OP posts:
wobblyknicks · 09/08/2004 21:25

dg - not sure what I could do atm but will check it out and come back soon. And obviously if there's a date that suits you all but not me, I'll see you again.

delgirl · 09/08/2004 21:27

ok WK , hope you can make it

Delgirl, thanks for directing me here - had missed this thread but always up for a meet-up. I'm in Bournemouth too.

Also off the drinking till November but up for anything else with/without children.

DelGirl · 12/08/2004 19:20

So, to all of you with children, would you prefer to meet after the hols without children or in the hols with or vice versa. Afternoon or Eve. Any suggestions? Anyone been to another meet before, what did you do?

OP posts:
bunny2 · 12/08/2004 21:06

Depends on age of kids I suppose. My ds is 4. The beach picnic is always a good option.

Tommy · 12/08/2004 21:13

haven't been to one before - hope you don't mind if us Hampshireres tag along. I am better in the day time with children and prefeberably after holidays as we'r busy til then! My DSs are 2 and half and 1 next week!

bunny2 · 14/08/2004 20:37

well???

any suggestions?

jodee · 14/08/2004 22:03

I've been to daytime meets at playbarns with kids (when I lived in London) and an evening Mum's only curry - at the moment I would prefer a 'cheapie' daytime meet as I'm strapped for cash!
Are we looking at early September now, as there's only 2 weeks left of August and people most probably have plans already?
My 'baby' is starting school this Sept so it would have to be Saturdays, if we are meeting with kids.
Bunny, your beach-picnic idea sounds good, if we went somewhere like Boscombe Pier, there is always the option of Brewsters if the weather is rubbish.
