Had to create a new thread as we've already filled the old one!

2cute, I would love to meet up with you and your ds but I have my NCT coffee this afternoon and once ds has woken up from his nap, I have to go sort out my MIL's bday present.

Are you free next week at all?

2Cute · 23/02/2007 09:50

I'm free next Tuesday and Thursday

2Cute · 23/02/2007 10:02

congrats Quokka!! When will you be moving?

Poor Nanou

foxabout2pop · 23/02/2007 10:05

2cute - I'm around this arvo if you wanna meet. I can't walk very far so unfortunately C&C is out though .

I managed to get back to sleep again at 6.30am and have just woken up. DH has just rung to say he's coming home and is going to take DS to the Natural History Museum and then take him to work with him afterwards - meaning I just have DD today

Keep an eye on the news later* My DH is going to the Natural History Museum for a press conference at 11am. A group of Aboriginal elders are taking the museum to court for doing illegal tests on stolen Aboriginal bodies. Should be on the news later hopefully - hopefully with DH and DS in it .

Hi everyone else

Quokka - will e-mail Nanou

Paddlechick666 · 23/02/2007 10:05

morning all

pud, i use laughing cow but tbh, dd isn't too impressed. she prefers chedder or baby belles.

mellow, great news re: sleeping. glad to see your work from home day is similar to mine altho i never seem to get out for lunch!

foxie, bummer on the early rising. i was awake at 1ish and 3:30ish then 5ish but only for long enough to look at the clock. can't seem to shake those times that dd used to wake for a feed.

did you get that pic after i replied to your email?

mrsR, how did ds go in the end?

got a friend coming over for the day today 2Cute so can't meet up i'm afraid.

dd scared the pants off me last night when i checked her before going to bed.

her room was 24 degrees and when i went in she was at the other end of the cot. couldn't hear her breathing so put my hand on her back but couldn't feel anything.

nudged her twice and still nothing so i picked up her and she finally responded! she was also cold - her hands and head and between her shoulderblades.

of course she's fine and i just honestly think she has an ability to breathe really really shallowly. but boy, she gives me a fright when she does this!

tucked her in with her blanket and she was sound away till about 6:45am. She didn't come out of her cot till 7:30 tho - i've figured out that she's chatting to the bear on her grobag!!

Paddlechick666 · 23/02/2007 10:06

what have i missed? quokka? nanou?

Paddlechick666 · 23/02/2007 10:10

okay, i'm up to date!

great news quokka altho will be seriousl to see you go.

hope the ILs are just thinking in terms of holiday property ay! there's got to be a pretty big ex-pat contingent tho so hopefully they'd find their own social circle thus not intrude too much on you guys.

and the aussie school! and only a few hours from perth! very cool!

hope nanou's ok.

foxie, will try to watch news but 6pm clashes with bathtime and 10:30pm clashes with me tucked up in bed!

Eleusis · 23/02/2007 10:12

What has happened to Nanou?

And does this mean you are Singapore bound, Quokka?

quokka · 23/02/2007 10:24

Foxy sounds interesting, did you know before I moved here I wanted to study (well I did start) anthropology, specifically aboriginal culture? Will defo try and watch the news, its about time they got some world wide attention on how badly they have been treated .

I will let nanou tell you, don't really think its my place, but its not life threatning.

The il's wont be moving just would like to buy a little holiday home that tey could rent out when not there. I would be worried if they were moving with us! Just got message from dh that they are going to fly us all out for a reccy!!!!

Paddlechick666 · 23/02/2007 10:27

ooooh so !!!

sfxmum · 23/02/2007 10:35

so i guess this is the chosen threadthis is the sort of trouble we get into without mrsD

nanou - hugs

quokka that is good news

foxie will look out for them on the news

off to kew in a minute have a nice day all

foxabout2pop · 23/02/2007 10:43

Quokka - do you need a nanny to fly out with you for the reccy - heavily PG or with a newborn in tow?

quokka · 23/02/2007 10:51

thanks for the offer foxy but I serious doubt that any airline would let you fly!!!!

2Cute · 23/02/2007 11:19

what about one with a bad back Quokka???

Will defintaley try catching the news Foxi.

Ok, so what do you fancy doing foxi? I think the mobile number I have for you is your work one but you should have my number when I emailed you DS's party details so text/ring me on that. We could go to Snakes and Ladders or mine, I'm easy .

That sounds scary paddle - Glad she's ok phew!

foxabout2pop · 23/02/2007 11:53

Paddle - I got the picture you sent - its lovely. Isn't my daughter the most beautiful child ever LOL!?

DD often plays dead. She also sleeps with the duvet over her head which is pretty alarming each morning!!!

SFX - your LO looks like a little pixie, she's so sweet!

2cute - it would be nice to see you later, specially as we missed you yesterday. How is your back? TBH a cuppa round yours would be great, so I don't have to move much! DD and your DS are about 6 months apart in age aren't they, so should get on well together. I'm not sure I have your number but will check in a mo' on my new mobile. What time is best for you?

I just need to pop into either M&S or Tesco to get some birthday cards and stamps at some point today.

Just texted you now... I've got some (Tesco) lemon cake waiting to be eaten

foxabout2pop · 23/02/2007 13:19

yum - it would be rude not to eat some then!!

MrsRecycle · 23/02/2007 17:03

Hi everyone - you still hanging in there foxie? I'm around all weekend and available Monday, Wednesday and Thursday next week. I'll try and check out the news for your dh and ds.

pc - how very scary for you. They had this brilliant machine at Great Ormond Street that they put under ds - it would bleep if no movement was detected. I'm thinking about looking for one on ebay.

well ds was up at 11pm and I thought here we go, he's cutting out the midnight feed. But he then woke up at 3am as I'd stupidly put pampers on him and he was soaked through. He hasn't slept much today though - must of recharged his batteries yesterday.

Quokka - how exciting for you. I am so envious, my friend loves S'pore and it's so clean and very very safe.

Paddlechick666 · 23/02/2007 17:15

hi MrsR

yeah we've actually got a babysafe apnea alarm thing as dd stopped breathing 4 times when she was around 10 weeks old.

it's in the loft lol.

they do say you're not supposed to use them after 6 or 12 months or something as the baby can move off them as they get more mobile thus giving a false positive.

tbh, i am very paranoid about her breathing as a result of the apnea thing and am a bit obsessive about checking her.

i bet the little monkey does it all night on and off but i never know! thus i was happy to co-sleep for as long as we did.

i've realised i'm becoming a bit of a fatalist - i can't watch her every second therefore i just have to trust that she'll get thru each night.

i still have a moment of dread at the last tuck-in before i go to bed myself tho.

how was that lemon cake foxie & 2cute?

Paddlechick666 · 23/02/2007 17:21

foxie of course your daughter is absolutely gorgeous, second only to mine !

MrsRecycle · 23/02/2007 17:40

they are both georgeous!

Gosh how awful for you and dd. My godson was the same around this age and the hospital couldn't find anything wrong with him. You just want to smother then in cotton wool don't you - the feeling never goes away even when they're 9. I sometimes check on ds during the day and he is totally cold and I have to check he is breathing.

pudding77 · 23/02/2007 17:45

I still have to check on ds before I go to bed and sometimes he is so still and quiet that I have to put my hand on his back - dh accuses me of poking him so that I'll get a reaction!

i think we can all agree we all have some very good looking clever kids

i spent ages talking to my sister walking around kew, while the teens looked after dd it was lovely, the downside was an excited child who has not has a nap and is looking rather pooped now that they have left.

hope you are well well must catch up at some point
