Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell wants to meet YOU in MANCHESTER! You lucky lucky things!

Not told dh yet, but I thought it would be nice to arrange a little Mumsnet meet-up whilst I'm back. Also cause some people in that area couldn't make the Christmas London meet-up. So YorkieGirl, Amanda1, Janh, Tinker and others, do you fancy it or what?

Manchester would be better for me as I can get the train there. Although I could make Liverpool too, it just means getting 2 trains instead of one. So who else wants to come then?

oooh a Manchester meet up would be fab. I'm in for it. I would prefer it NOT to be at the Trafford Centre if that's ok, as I don't drive.

flamesparrow · 29/11/2005 10:40

just crashing.... CRSEIH... did you used to be someone else? I seem to be seeing you lots lately, you sound like a "regular", but can't work out who you would have changed from

Probably bloody rude, and you've always been called that, and I'm just completely unobservant

doormat · 29/11/2005 10:41

flamessparrow it is rhubarb LOL

love to have a meet up but cant at mo, hope it is a good one for all you girls

flamesparrow · 29/11/2005 10:44

THANKYOU!!! Been wondering where Rhubarb was too

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 29/11/2005 10:47

Sorry Flamesparrow, thought I'd told everyone! Are you coming?

Was thinking Moon Over Water if no-one is bringing kids (mind you they probably let kids in on Sundays, it's only on match days that they become fascists) as it's central, easy to find and cheap for food and beer. But am open to suggestions!

i'm in lancashire so both manchester and l'pool are near to me, will watch this thread and see if its a date i could make (dh is working away mon-fri, so socialising is a bit awkward at the mo).

although are you meaning an evening thing without kids or a daytime playdate with kids?

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 29/11/2005 10:58

SUNDAY 18TH DECEMBER! Afternoon is best for me as will be travelling by train. As far as kids go, not taking mine but it's up to you. Will check with any venue to make sure this is ok.

NomDePlume · 29/11/2005 13:02

Moon on the water rings a bell. Where is it ?

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 29/11/2005 13:05

OO, you mean you don't like the food at Moon under/over the bloody Water whatever?

Well, where do you suggest? There is that place on the side of the canal, Janh knows it's name. I can't remember if we ate there last time or not, but it was a nice place.

OP posts:
CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 29/11/2005 13:05

NomdePlume, it's near where the Corn Exchange used to be.

Aww would have loved to join you but being induced on 15th so doubt would be up to it..lol

NomDePlume · 29/11/2005 13:07

Is it a Wetherspoons, Cliff ?

NomDePlume · 29/11/2005 13:08

On Deansgate ?

oliveoil · 29/11/2005 13:08

I remember eating at Moon whatsit many moons ago with a tight arse guitarist and it was a fiver for two, no idea what it is like now.

I want morning/afternoon, no children for me (hurrah).

Anywhere with nice food (have I mentioned food?).

We went to Pizza Express last time by default as they wouldn't let us in to Moon with a baby. Who else came last time, I can't remember their names but there was a cutie baby in a tiger suit.

NomDePlume · 29/11/2005 13:09

Just trying to picture where the Corn Exchange used to be. Not been back to Manc for about 5 years, other than to visit my Nanna in Droylsden

oliveoil · 29/11/2005 13:11

Moon is on Deansgate, just up from Kendals. Corn Exchange doesn't exist anymore as the IRA decided to bomb it in. Not near Moon anyway, think Cliff has lost his map.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 29/11/2005 13:11

Deansgate yep. OO I barred myself from Wetherspoons after that, but the food is nice, cheap and the location is central. Plus with it being a Sunday, i.e. not a match day, we should be ok, but I will check first.

I prefer afternoons for the train times. How about 1pm for lunch? Children or not that is up to you. I won't be as it is irresponsible to let them see me getting bladdered!

OP posts:
CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 29/11/2005 13:12

Was it not OO? What am I thinking of then?

OP posts:
NomDePlume · 29/11/2005 13:14

Thank gawd I'm not going a bit simple in my old age. I know where the Moon is.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 29/11/2005 13:16
