Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell wants to meet YOU in MANCHESTER! You lucky lucky things!

Not told dh yet, but I thought it would be nice to arrange a little Mumsnet meet-up whilst I'm back. Also cause some people in that area couldn't make the Christmas London meet-up. So YorkieGirl, Amanda1, Janh, Tinker and others, do you fancy it or what?

Manchester would be better for me as I can get the train there. Although I could make Liverpool too, it just means getting 2 trains instead of one. So who else wants to come then?

I really want to come but don't know if it's fait to drag a 3 year old on a train to Manc to sit in a pub all afternoon so his mummy can meet her tinternet pals.

Whadya think?

OComeOliveFaithfOil · 01/12/2005 09:15

hmmmm, would love to meet you (mwah) but think you may be right. Can you offload him on anyone else?

northerner · 01/12/2005 09:18

Hmmm. Will see what I can sort out.

This pub were we're meeting. Is it far from train station?

mummytosteven · 01/12/2005 09:20

Moon under Water is just a few doors down from Daisy and Toms, if that helps assuage your guilt Northerner

Moon is about ten minutes walk from Victoria, about 15/20 from Piccadily, but one of the wonders of Manchester is they do FREE buses from the train station to Deansgate (and other places)

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 01/12/2005 09:30

We could organise a little corner for the children to play in, bring them some pens, paper, print off puzzles from the Net, etc, they'll be as happy as larry! My dd used to see the pub as a kind of second home!

whatamess - you HAVE to come, I'd love to see you again!

OP posts:
northerner · 01/12/2005 09:31

Whats Daisy & Toms?

gingerbear · 01/12/2005 09:33

Posh kids shop

gingerbear · 01/12/2005 09:35

I need to look up train times. I used to do this trip every fortnight when I was at uni. Moss Side - once lived in, never forgotten.

northerner · 01/12/2005 09:37

Great. So when ds is fed up of the pub I can take him shopping. Another of his favourite passtimes. Not.

Seriously, who else is taking kids and how old are they? If my ds has someone to sword fight with he'll be happy.

mummytosteven · 01/12/2005 09:58

a posh kids shop with lots of TOYS!!!

fennel · 01/12/2005 10:16

Daisy and Toms cafe is quite nice with soft play area to contain the children. not that i intend to bring mine.

it depends how many are bringing children really. D&T would be better than a pub if lots of small children coming. but not sure D&T serves alcohol. probably not

NomDePlume · 01/12/2005 10:51

NomDePlume - No kids (DH having them)

BahHumbugBadgerBadger · 01/12/2005 11:19

No, not bringing the cubs either, they'll be with xH.

bosscat · 01/12/2005 11:22

I've just seen this, can you put me down as a maybe? I'm supposed to be going to a family thing but if I can get out of it I'd love to come.

bosscat · 01/12/2005 11:23

oh and wouldn't bring kids

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 01/12/2005 11:32

Can you not leave the kids in the toy shop thing whilst you go in the pub?

Just a thought!

OP posts:
BahHumbugBadgerBadger · 01/12/2005 11:36

What? Abandon them?!

At this time of year you might just get away with it

fennel · 01/12/2005 11:41

It's Not that Sort of Toy shop. bumped into Posh and Becks in there once buying Versace shoes for Brooklyn.
i was 40 weeks preg and about as flushed and un-chic as it's possible to be.

OComeOliveFaithfOil · 01/12/2005 11:44

(Disclaimer: My dad is from Liverpool so I am allowed).

BahHumbugBadgerBadger · 01/12/2005 11:48

PMSL

The christmas display is always beautiful though! Brings back all sort of false memories

OComeOliveFaithfOil · 01/12/2005 11:50

I love it in there, lots of gorgous wooden toys but I can't afford half of it . Not the aforementioned vests however.

bosscat · 01/12/2005 11:58

COUGH so can I get on this bloody list or what !

NomDePlumPudding · 01/12/2005 12:00

I think it's a case of if your name's on the thread then you're on the list, bosscat !

bosscat · 01/12/2005 12:10

great! mummytosteven, I can give you a lift if you need one. could pick you up somewhere. I've got a child seat for Steven in the car already but am not planning on bringing either of my 2 as they will have to go to the family thing I am trying to get out of.

ShortAndStripySolsticer · 01/12/2005 12:18

I've lost track!

The 18th? What sort of time? Are we eating? It is the moon over/under water as opposed to D&T's isn't it?
