Not told dh yet, but I thought it would be nice to arrange a little Mumsnet meet-up whilst I'm back. Also cause some people in that area couldn't make the Christmas London meet-up. So YorkieGirl, Amanda1, Janh, Tinker and others, do you fancy it or what?

Manchester would be better for me as I can get the train there. Although I could make Liverpool too, it just means getting 2 trains instead of one. So who else wants to come then?

Good luck to Mr GB for tomorrow - glad little GB is better though and hope he is up to coping so you can come.

YG, hope your sinusitis is better enough too.

Tinker, are you coming then or what? Haven't seen you since long before DD2 (yours that is) might you bring her if you only come for a short time? It would be great to see you and meet her! (Ditto OO if there's no other way for you to come, would love to meet you too )

Dot and Juno and BadgerBadger, where are you?????

Sorry to miss all the no-shows, hope you'll be able to make another one soon.

Tortington · 15/12/2005 23:03

Janh · 15/12/2005 23:08

map here , custy - has Deansgate on - does this help?

Janh · 15/12/2005 23:12

This bit has Oxford Street on, which is near U of M I think, also Oxford Rd and Deansgate tram stops (?? or trains?).

Tortington · 15/12/2005 23:29

thank you. have planned my journey

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 16/12/2005 06:51

Bumping..........will anyone be there for 1pm? Don't want to spend an hour talking to myself!

will get there for 1pm. I'll wait at the bar with a pint of Guinness or equivalent, and I'll wear a black mac so should be easy to spot. If I'm not there, just wait at the bar, there shouldn't be too many women hanging around the bar, it's usually a male domain. You could always buy me a pint of Guinness too (or equivalent) so that I can easily spot you (not that I'm trying to get a free pint you understand, but I have come all the way from France just for the meet-up you know!).

If we move to a table we'll pick one close to the door and I'll put a piece of card on it or something with "M N" written on it.

If your name is not on the list but you'd like to come, please do, it's not a restaurant or anything, nothing is booked, it's just a pub and I'll leave the M N on the table whilst we are there.

Tinker · 16/12/2005 09:21

I'm still intending to pop in!

Tortington · 16/12/2005 15:29

ShortAndStripySolsticer · 16/12/2005 21:34

I'm going to make it, hopefully!

(BadgerBadger, to clear any confusion )

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 16/12/2005 21:38

Sorry all - Big chicken Whizzz here.
Double booked with friends coming round on Sunday

I will try to make a meet up at some point

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 17/12/2005 12:04

I'm online! Whizz, just tell 'em you're nipping to the loo and come and have a pint with us!

I'll be there at 1 then, don't abandon me or I'll have to grab a local tramp to sit with me!

OP posts:
Janh · 17/12/2005 12:08

And she is not kidding about the tramp

ParrupupumScum · 17/12/2005 16:08

My train gets into Manchester Piccadily at 12.28. Can anyone tell a Manchester/Mark Addy novice what i do next? Is it walkable from the station or do I need a bus or a tram? Would be v pleased if the latter as like trams!

Janh · 17/12/2005 16:14

Not sure if this will help or not, scummy - Mark Addy is at top L and there are Deansgate and Oxford Road tram stops bottom R; if you move the map about a bit you might locate Piccadilly (I am hopeless at Manchester, nothing is ever where I think it is, I have the map upside down in my head or something!)

ParrupupumScum · 17/12/2005 19:55

Thanks janh. I found the station but then couldn't find the L bit so will have to see what happens when i get there. I forsee the probability of getting horribly lost! May have to buy A-Z and give it to a Mancunian when finished.

ParrupupumScum · 17/12/2005 20:28

I'm very excited to be going to the place where the Grauniad started! Haven't been to Manchester since I was a wee lass of 7 or so.

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 17/12/2005 20:36

Have a good time all - Regards to you Cliffy.
We must storm another parenting website sometime.

Have a GUiness for me

Janh · 18/12/2005 10:30

Message from cliffy - she will now not get there until 1.30-1.45 because she has to come by train, soooo if anybody gets there earlier just buy a pint of Guinness and stand next to it and then she will know straight away that you are one of us

Janh · 18/12/2005 19:33

Well, that was fun!

I really really meant to be good and drink J2Os today but was so frazzled trying to find the place I felt I had to have wine...5 large glasses later I feel distinctly p*ssed, wonder why. Never mind...lovely to meet scummy, badgerbadger and fennel and re-meet custardo, mts, Tinker and the famous Cliff - very disappointed to have missed dot & juno, and their DSs, and oliveoil - next time we will print out a map before we go to save driving round in circles in horrendous Christmas shopping traffic!

Hope scummy, custy and rhuby have a fab girls' night out in lovely Oldham

DD2 really enjoyed it too, thinks you're all fantastic and understands perfectly why I love MN so much!

ShortAndStripySolsticer · 18/12/2005 22:51

Janh, I live 15 minutes from the Mark Addy, I had an AtoZ in the car and I still took three wrong turns before arriving!

Glad you enjoyed it . I wish I could have stayed longer and had more of a chance to chat (and not had to drink OJ ). I'm really glad I went though, it was great to meet you and everyone you mentioned, albeit briefly

Dot and Juno's DS's are gorgeous!

Mistletoo · 18/12/2005 23:30

really to have missed it - all our plans went awry as well. Supposed to have friends up for the weekend but dh was unwell so we had to cancel that as well! (i've been playing nursemaid all weekend!)

Oh well, glad you had a good time!

Dotthehalls · 19/12/2005 09:02

Dot and Juno's ds's are gorgeous when they're not tearing up and down a pub!!! Next time we'll tie them to a lamp post or something..! Sorry we couldn't stay longer, but the boys needed a run, so we traipsed round town until we couldn't feel our fingers or toes any more and then went home! Nice to meet everyone though - if a little scary!! Definitely need alcohol another time!

ohFennelyeHerbful · 19/12/2005 09:31

it was lovely to meet you all. stayed far longer than intended and feel distinctly the worse for wear this morning.....

how was the night out in Oldham?

feastofsteven · 19/12/2005 09:41

Had a fab time, and sorry I had to dash off so early, particularly since I owe Cliff Richard a drink!!!
