Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell wants to meet YOU in MANCHESTER! You lucky lucky things!

Not told dh yet, but I thought it would be nice to arrange a little Mumsnet meet-up whilst I'm back. Also cause some people in that area couldn't make the Christmas London meet-up. So YorkieGirl, Amanda1, Janh, Tinker and others, do you fancy it or what?

Manchester would be better for me as I can get the train there. Although I could make Liverpool too, it just means getting 2 trains instead of one. So who else wants to come then?

anyone take a camera?

Tinker · 19/12/2005 10:32

No camera, thank god. Enjoyed myself very much, lovely to meet and re-meet you all and shame didn't get a chance to talk to everyone.

Yes, how was the Oldham night out?

ohFennelyeHerbful · 19/12/2005 11:15

I suspect the Oldham revellers may be still in recovery. last seen terrorising a taxi-driver on a variety of unrelated subjects.

oh, that reminds me, CliffRichard was very insistent I posted the message that SHE LIKES DUCKS. not swans. not geese. but DUCKS. OK.

Just back in london now and Northern meet ups rule! Had a fantastic time- everyone who was there was really fab. Wish I'd thought to shift down the other end of the table before badger, OO and mts left though. Superb to meet janh and her girl and fennel and rhubarb and dot and juno and the boys and very briefly the legendary dd of tinker and ds1 of custardo! I knew custy and tinker themselves would be fab from before and they were. Loved Manchester and am going to keep my A to Z forever. And i tell you what, don't know if 7 pints of lager and a bottle of wine had anything to do with it, but Oldham seriously rocked! Chips and gravy and dancing and beer mat flipping abounded. Thanks Custy and Rhub- I wouldn't have missed your hometown night out for the world. And though the toilet with no door was a rather surreal experience, the z bed was v comfy and i was surprisingly hangover free when I tottered round the Trafford Centre this morning. Result! Thank you for putting me up, custardo.

OComeOliveFaithfOil · 20/12/2005 09:42

Oldham rocks? You need serious help woman.

Good to meet everyone, shame I couldn't stay too long and move up the table - I liked the purple bag, whose was it?!

Loved seeing Dot & Juno's- ds2 running in going 'DUCK! BREAD!' all excited, bless.

My voice is still a croaking, I don't normally drink tea and have soup, I was ill!

xx

ParrupupumScum · 20/12/2005 10:27

You would have been invited if you'd been there at the drunken moment that it was decided that a night out in Oldham was necessary and desirable. And you now have my undying friendship because the purple bag was mine! (I think, unless anyone else also had a purple bag?)

OComeOliveFaithfOil · 20/12/2005 10:29

Nice bag!

Where did you go in the cultural metropolis that is Oldham?

ohFennelyeHerbful · 20/12/2005 10:33

i had a purple bag with me too. not a particularly enviable one though, so it must have been Scummy's that you admired.

OComeOliveFaithfOil · 20/12/2005 10:36

I am a bag whore, so am sure I would have liked yours as well .

What time did everyone stay in the Mark Addy till?

I was at home at 4pm making tea .

ohFennelyeHerbful · 20/12/2005 10:38

the last of us left at 8.30. me to home and bed. the more energetic ones to Oldham.

doesn't parenthood make us so middle-aged! the thought of clubbing in Oldham just didn't appeal at all.

ParrupupumScum · 20/12/2005 10:46

Could have been either of ours, fennel- both of us are v stylish, after all. We went to Oldham Mumps station, a chip shop, a small pub and then a larger pub with a dance floor and a teenage dj/barman with the smallest, cheesiest cd collection in the world. Ace! And then we rolled back to Custy's aunty's house and told her poor son all about our night out, not to mention all we knew about life the universe and everything. Top night.

mogwai · 20/12/2005 23:18

Oh I'm coming to the next meet up

Was in Manchester on Sunday, Parked up alongside Daisy and Tom and nipping in to get my Tripp Trapp at the very time you were all in a pub up the road.

This will never do.

Dotthehalls · 21/12/2005 18:01

ooh - I had a purple bag!! (must be a Mumsnet thing..!)

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 22/12/2005 13:14

Ducks!

Thought you were all horrid, particularly Scummy and Custy, they were very very horrid! And Oldham was horrid too, horrible night out, shameful, disgusting!
