Meet-ups

When meeting up take sensible precautions. Meet in a public place and let others know where you are going.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell wants to meet YOU in MANCHESTER! You lucky lucky things!

Not told dh yet, but I thought it would be nice to arrange a little Mumsnet meet-up whilst I'm back. Also cause some people in that area couldn't make the Christmas London meet-up. So YorkieGirl, Amanda1, Janh, Tinker and others, do you fancy it or what?

Manchester would be better for me as I can get the train there. Although I could make Liverpool too, it just means getting 2 trains instead of one. So who else wants to come then?

Gobbledigook · 30/11/2005 13:15

Shall we make badges or will we look ridiculous?!

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 13:15

Her brother is !

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 13:16

I'm not having a badge, ta very much ! I'm sure I'll spot you all.

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 13:23

My train will arrive at Piccadilly @ 12.23 (having left at 9am .

I'd probably get either the 16.55 (getting home at 7.40pm) or the 17.55 back (9.20pm arrival )

You'd better all be worth meeting !!!

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 30/11/2005 13:24

Nooooo! No badges, we'd look like pillocks! You don't do badges in Manchester mate!

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 13:25

not if you wanna keep your teeth, anyway.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 30/11/2005 13:26

Do you want a guarantee then or wot NdP? "I guarantee that I am not really a middle-aged boring Laura Ashley type who will sit and knit all the way through lunch, stopping occasionally to sip my Diet Coke and shake my head disapprovingly at the topic of conversation."

OP posts:
northerner · 30/11/2005 13:26

I can get a 10.53 train which arrives in Manc at 12.36.

Hmm. Will have ds with me though cause dh is working. Anyone else bringing kids?

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 13:27

I could just drive and it'd take me an hour and 45 each way, but then I'd have to park and stay sober....

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 13:27

That is disappointing, Cliffy

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 30/11/2005 13:28

Anyone else going from your neck of the woods NDP? Are the buses any quicker? Silly question but sometimes they actually are!

Northerner, I think YorkieGirl and a few others might be.

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 13:29

No one else that I know of, it'll just be me and my iPod with the stab-happy nutters on the train

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 13:31

Buses are a 'mare. 4h 40mins each way

Tortington · 30/11/2005 13:31

they are a royal arseache too.

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 30/11/2005 13:36

Hmmm, they don't seem to be running any trains from where I'm coming from to Manchester on that Sunday. Which kinda sucks.

OP posts:
lucykate · 30/11/2005 13:37

i'm still a possible - i live right by a train station, takes about 45mins to get to manc from here. is quicker to drive but i'm not good with the one way system, and finding somewhere to park!

NomDePlume · 30/11/2005 13:38

Don't back out cliff

CliffRichardSucksEggsinHell · 30/11/2005 13:41

I can catch one from a different station, if hubby will give me a lift.
Lucykate, so you HAVE to come, right?
