Goal weight is 9 stone 5

I've done keto before but I'm trying to be really strict with keeping carbs under 20g.
Im so far down 3 lbs and jeans I tried on Friday already feel better today

Not feeling disheartened as I am waiting for the whoosh and to drop a few weeks weight in one night 😁

Rollerbird · 27/03/2023 07:41

I did it!! (just)
I'm 9 stone 13.8
0.2lbs under 😂
Need to try and stay under 10 this week.

Rollerbird · 27/03/2023 07:42

I lost 2.5 lbs this week

CoffeeChocolateWine · 27/03/2023 09:23

Well done both! I've come to realise that maintaining is also an achievement, so that's good work.

I'm 11st 2lb this morning. No difference but only a few days in, including a weekend which involved a few treats so can't complain. My target is 10st 7lb.

Definitely 'on it' properly from now.

LostaraYil · 27/03/2023 17:34

I'm 10st 11 today, my target is 10st by July. Feels like a long way to go but my stomach was already flatter today, keto helps so much with bloating. Well done for the losses and for maintaining!

declutteringmymind · 27/03/2023 21:03

Well done everyone!

10st this morning and happy with that. Especially as I've had two big meals out over the weekend which I thoroughly enjoyed.

Missed my class today. More work/personal stress.

We're hoping to book a holiday for next week so I'm glad I've lost these few pounds.

Welcome newcomers! Let's do this 💪🏽

CoffeeChocolateWine · 28/03/2023 09:22

Morning all 😊

@LostaraYil, I find it interesting that you say you say low-carb more restrictive than keto. I've not done keto before really as I had in my mind that it was even more restrictive than low-carb and that low-carb was a softer, more manageable version of it! I'm now thinking that might be wrong!

What keto books/resources/guidelines do people tend to follow and recommend?

CoffeeChocolateWine · 28/03/2023 09:23

*sorry for typos!

Cherryana · 28/03/2023 17:44

Well done - you are all getting closer to your goals x

BakerLea · 29/03/2023 12:01

I'm not down any weight on scales but my clothes are definitely looser and I feel slimmer!! So weird

OP posts:
declutteringmymind · 29/03/2023 18:43

@BakerLea im feeling the loss more in shape than I am on the scales

Although I've kept to the high protein aspect, im suspecting my macros are high a bit in carbs this past few days. So going to rein them in a bit.

Also we've just booked an all inclusive so will try and do as much high protein as I can but still going to enjoy myself. Planning hikes, bikes and swims so hopefully won't throw me too far off track. I'm actually less fearful of trying on my summer clothes now. I'm a good half stone lighter than my last summer holiday.

chronictonic · 29/03/2023 18:55

Just wanted to say well done to you all. I'm not on Keto at the moment but do do it periodically and I wanted to share this recipe for a VERY quick and easy Keto 'bread' for those times when you just really need some toast or a bun for a bacon bap etc!
It helped me so much.

LostaraYil · 29/03/2023 20:08

@CoffeeChocolateWine , you're right that low carb can be less restrictive. I have done the low carb bootcamp a couple of times and the bootcamp is all about clean eating whereas i can manage a dirty keto approach more easily. My sweet tooth is not going anywhere so completely avoiding sweeterners means i am more likely to fail.
Having holidays planned for the summer is my big motivation at the moment. My family live abroad and I'm always self-conscious about them seeing me looking fatter than before. It may not be a healthy attitude but whatever works, right?

CoffeeChocolateWine · 29/03/2023 21:12

Ahh ok. Yes I tried low-carb boot camp on here once before and it wasn't right for me at all. I found it too restrictive too and wasn't at all sustainable.

When I originally lost 3 stone a couple of years ago, that was with Second Nature. It does cut down on carbs significantly but not completely. And this is what I'm doing now. I tend to have a small amount of carbs in the morning then more or less carb-free for lunch and dinner, and maybe 1-2 pieces of fruit a day. It still feels 'low-carb' to me but I find it much more sustainable and stills sees the weight drop off.

declutteringmymind · 29/03/2023 21:50

@LostaraYil and @CoffeeChocolateWine I hear you. I can't do anything too strict but upping my protein automatically lowers my carbs. And it's working.

Rollerbird · 29/03/2023 22:44

I felt like either my trousers are looser or they are overdue a wash today!

BakerLea · 30/03/2023 07:32

I'm up a pound argggggg
Wish someone would hide my scales for a month and I could just go with how I'm feeling!!
I'm doing so well. I'm exactly 3 weeks today.

OP posts:
CoffeeChocolateWine · 30/03/2023 09:25

@BakerLea, three weeks is good going, well done! Don't worry about a small gain...focus on your other successes. You feel great which is far more important! Are you clothes feeling looser? Do you have more energy? Does your skin look clearer! All just as worthy of celebration as a number on the scale 😊

declutteringmymind · 30/03/2023 11:00

@BakerLea you're right you are doing well.

You probably just need a poo or something. Keep going!

Rollerbird · 31/03/2023 07:50

I have been really on it but stepped on the scales and I am back over 10 stone!!
Gutted

CoffeeChocolateWine · 31/03/2023 09:27

It's hard to keep motivated when you see the number going in the wrong direction. Sadly the journey is never quite as linear as we'd like! Keep going!

I had a weigh-in this morning and I'm down a pound. Which is fine but I had hoped for more as the weight usually falls off quite quickly when I set my mind to it. And I've been on it this week. I've got my period as well though so it may be a bit of water retention too.

Keeping focused over the weekend can be challenging. Need to be mindful of wine intake mainly. DH usually buys treats etc for the weekend too so need to harden my resolve!

BakerLea · 01/04/2023 08:43

Had a day of under 10g carbs and one glass of wine and today I'm 9 stone 9!!

OP posts:
BakerLea · 01/04/2023 09:04

Do you know that I'm still 1 lb away from being over weight for my height on NHS website.
So for my height 9 stone 10 is considered over weight!!
It says I could go down to 7 stone 3, but if I went under 9 stone my mum/dp would be telling me I look too thin.
