Good Morning Campers Smile

Sorry for starting this a bit late - meant to do it last night Blush

Here's the spreadsheet

Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Already seen some great losses recorded on the Week 1 thread so that's heartening Smile. It's always great seeing how newbies see that it really does work Grin

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway. We all need to KOKO.

One more week of strict Boot Camp and then we can choose to go on to Boot Canp Light for those of us who want to Halo

@prettybird Sorry to hear the update from your world of plumbing. Fingers crossed you find both the problem and a solution soooooon

Thanks also for the name checks, I had swanned off to Yoga this early evening. Yoga is another thing that i love, which works so.much.better when I keep off the starchy carbs and sugar. Teacher never mentions what I am eating but the difference in both my enthusiasm and what I can achieve really is amazing.

prettybird · 24/10/2022 20:09

That looks a tasty menu @TakeItCheesy - although don't overload on the tomatoes! Make sure to eat some green veg tomorrow Smile

Can I ask, what's schoolge mean?

Lougle · 24/10/2022 20:16

Thank you @prettybird and @FinallyHere .

Courgetti Bolognese tonight.

Mercedesbenz2022 · 24/10/2022 20:20

Mange tout , shoogled sprouts , beef cooked in slow cooker yesterday with onions and celery , really nice

lunch was salad with avo , hard boiled eggs , some meats from a Spanish meat platter

UnOeufIsEnough · 24/10/2022 20:22

Had an absolute brain fart today that really annoyed me. Was out with DDs and ordered coffee for myself and hot chocolates for them plus brownies. I cut up the brownies and then stuck a fairly big piece in my mouth.

I'm awaiting the Big Stick, but it just goes to show I'm not out of the mindset of mindlessly eating.

I am proud that I managed not to throw the rest of the day away. Saw a good analogy that goes along the lines of: if your tyre bursts on the motorway, you don't get out and slash the other three...so I've managed not to "slash" my other meals.

B: boiled eggs, butter, avocado
Snack: chunk of brownie
L: lettuce wraps with cheese, ham & mayo
D: gammon, cauliflower cheese, fried cabbage.

prettybird · 24/10/2022 20:25

@Crazyone84 - "shoogle" is a Scottish word for "to shake" - which is how the term got introduced to Boot Camp Smile

You "shoogle" (shake) the sprouts (or other veg Wink) half way through microwaving them with some butter Grin

@prettybird thank you, ignorant Southern here, 🙈 I'll give it a try

mrshoho · 24/10/2022 20:37

3lb loss which I'm very happy with. Need to keep up the water and also be more adventurous with my meals. I've done well to avoid snacking which was seriously out of control.

Well done everyone on getting through week1!

prettybird · 24/10/2022 20:49

@UnOeufIsEnough Sounds like you've berated yourself enough. Learn from it and KOKO Smile (told you all my Big Stick is not as big as BIWI's Wink

Thank you @prettybird! I was bracing myself there.

Lesson definitely learned. Actually felt a bit weird after it...a real sugar rush...but not particularly pleasant.

RuLu · 24/10/2022 21:24

9lbs down! Hoping I can stick to it during half term!!

prettybird · 24/10/2022 21:33

That's brilliant @RuLu Flowers

Remember though that it will settle down to an average of 1-2lb a week Smile

Great first week results. Haven’t been able to weigh in as I am Scotland for a funeral. Managed to swerve the sandwiches and cake and drank water. Am still stuck in Scotland as EasyJet cancelled my flight home. Really annoying expensive and inconvenient. But staying with my mum so more time with her and she let me take over her kitchen this evening so it was a veg frittata with hot smoked salmon. There is a bit left for my breakfast tomorrow.

Lucienandjean · 24/10/2022 23:04

B: yogurt and cream
L: homemade chicken pakora, raita, salad, mayo
S: rollitos, cucumber
D: pork chop, Brussels sprouts, swede mashed with butter.

I made the pakora with almond flour rather than gram flour. They weren't quite authentic but it was still nice to have something crispy and spicy!

ChimneyPot · 24/10/2022 23:46

No weigh in for me until Thursday as I have no access to scales when travelling.
Being totally reliant on eating out is difficult.
I can practically taste the sugar and flour in stuff that shouldn’t have it and doesn’t need it.

Lots of very impressive losses. Well done.

@Lougle I was hoping you would be back. Your daily menus are quite inspiring

NotDonna · 25/10/2022 03:08

I can not believe all your amazing losses!! Blooming well done.
No scales here so no weight. Feeling like an inflated dumpling so probably just as well. I know I’ve not lost as haven’t been able to do it properly whilst overseas. I feel you pain @ChimneyPot
Out on a day trip today that left at 4am so got a couple of sausages to eat on the journey. They were hideous. Definitely no meat. They served b’fast which was a muffin & mini pizza. I was so hungry I ate both. Turned down the Apple juice at least. Lunch was better. Avoided the beans, rice & tortilla but had a blooming churro! Seriously regret it. I’ve already decided that I’ll need to re-do the 2 week boot camp when home next Monday as it’s really not going too well here. I’m going to keep trying though!

Backstreets · 25/10/2022 06:17

Another little loss on the scales today! I did have an aquariums worth of water Sunday so was expecting something for my trouble!
Absolutely pishing down with rain and generally miserable round these parts so easy to think what’s the point when I’m wrapping myself up in blankets and big coats, but I’m not doing this for me. I’m doing this for the fabulous 2023 me (and for Christmas party season me).

@NotDonna sounds like your circumstances are very difficult for this woe right now. Hope you’re having an excellent time otherwise, and that this isn’t interfering with your holiday. If breakfast is a muffin and a pizza doesn’t sound like you’re missing out on amazing dinners at least….

Lougle · 25/10/2022 06:46

@NotDonna are you choosing high carb foods, or are there just no low carb foods to choose from? If you're choosing high carb foods when you could be choosing low carb ones, we can help with motivation. If there simply aren't any low carb foods to choose from, then maybe you need to wait until you're back home. Eating loads of high carb foods when you're supposed to be on a low carb diet will just make you feel guilty and miserable, which won't help anything 💐

I'm on the way back down. 1lb down today. But until I lose that 2½lb that I've put on between bootcamps I won't consider it a real loss. Having said that, I don't want to go lower than that, so it's going to be a case of finding the balancing point to maintain.

venusandmars · 25/10/2022 07:11

@Jollyholibobs I was just wondering what to have for dinner tonight, so thanks for the inspiration, veg frittata and hot smoked salmon it will be.

My lunch out with friends yesterday was great. It's the first time the 4 of us have met properly all together for 3 years! We had loads of tapas to share but fortunately no-one seemed to want my asparagus in hollandaise with manchego, or very much of my gambas pil pil or much of my chicken thighs cooked in stock. And I didn't have any of their potatoes, battered chicken in sticky honey sauce, ham and cheese croquettes or bean salad!

sheepdreams · 25/10/2022 07:18

Great to hear of everyone’s losses and menus. I am 5 pounds down. Can’t believe it especially with my past conditioning of must eat low fat. Got over terrible carb flu but still have cravings for carbs😱. I too had stressful work day yesterday. Decided to try 20 min yoga session online to try and relax rather than reach for the carbs/wine. I was surprised at the difference it made. I’ve also slept all night ( not done that for a long time). Just need to avoid the artisan cherry and almond scones available at the market today in my village. KOKO everyone and good luck to us all. PrettyBird I hope your plumbing issue is sorted out properly soon. It sounds v stressful💐

pinknsparkly · 25/10/2022 07:45

Morning all, I weighed in this morning and have lost a very surprising 4.8lb. I really wasn't expecting that much as I've been eating "reasonably" low carb since the last bootcamp ended. Or at least I thought I was!! I've also been quite unwell with a cold that killed my appetite but I'm coming out the other side now. That means I've lost the pesky few pounds I put on after the last bootcamp and am now at my lowest weight for well over a decade!

Jollyholibobs · 25/10/2022 07:48

Morning all.
Great loss @sheepdreams
I meant to say yesterday @prettybird hope the leak is resolved without too much disruption.

My plan for today. Enjoy a bonus morning with my mother.

B left over veg frittata
L Soup made by mum
D if I ever get home Fast800 portobello pizzas and home made coleslaw.

All the water. Thanks for yesterday’s reminders as to why it’s important.

Baystard · 25/10/2022 07:48

Yesterday was a day of two halves for me.

Huge perfectly ripe avacado for lunch which, after a run of disappointing ones, was excellent and very filling. Also made seed crackers as M&S don't seem to have any and was pleased with the result.

However I couldn't get to Lidl recently, where I normally buy inexpensive but good feta cheese, so picked up some similarly priced 'Greek style salad cheese' from the supermarket which i though would be comparable with the Lidl version but wasn't. It wasn't very nice but had it roasted with tomato salad for dinner. The worst thing is that I have another packet to eat but I might actually give it to the dog, it was so bad.

Frenchpoodle · 25/10/2022 08:00

Todays food plans:
B: Rollitos, celery and red pepper in the car
L: Shawarma chicken thighs with pan fried courgette and green beans
D: Not sure - I like the sound of @Jollyholibobs portobello pizzas and a big salad
