Good Morning Campers Smile

Sorry for starting this a bit late - meant to do it last night Blush

Here's the spreadsheet

Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Already seen some great losses recorded on the Week 1 thread so that's heartening Smile. It's always great seeing how newbies see that it really does work Grin

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway. We all need to KOKO.

One more week of strict Boot Camp and then we can choose to go on to Boot Canp Light for those of us who want to Halo

@Sunsnowsun oh no! DC movies aren’t allowed according to DD3. She’s a massive marvel fan and believes watching DC ones is criminal - huge competitors. she’s so funny! I’ve no clue.

@Canthinkofaname79
i hope you are now eating dinner and talking through your day with your husband
don’t fall face first into carbs , remember why you are doing this and it won’t make your day any better
it’s difficult if you are used to comfort eating , as I am , but hopefully this will pass and you will be glad you resisted
take care

Thank you sorry I missed this yesterday. I stayed on plan but really need to up my water.

Congratulations on paying off your mortgage @prettybird! I was rather disappointed when we had paid our off - I was alerted by the bank by text, which seemed way too casual for something so significant!

prettybird · 25/10/2022 14:21

@BIWI - we await a letter in the post Grin In Scotland there is a further bit of procedure to go through to formally transfer the ownership and to confirm that the mortgage company has no further interest in it with Land Registers Scotland - but having never been in this position Wink, I don't know the process.

Our friend who died was a property lawyer albeit specialising in debt collection for the council) and it was usually him we went to for advice.

Just weighed on hotel scales so will be different to hone ones. A gain of 1.6lbs could obviously be more given different scales but not too disastrous.

prettybird · 25/10/2022 14:27

Just checked on the Registers of Scotland website. We have a minimum of a further £80 to pay plus a lawyer's fee.

prettybird · 25/10/2022 14:30

Just to warn you @NotDonna - sometimes the reaction on the scales is delayed a couple of days Shock

The good news is that as long as it's not gone on too long, you can usually reverse it quite quickly by getting back on the wagon and drinking plenty of water Smile

What a great feeling it is to pay off your mortage. I'd had a mortgage since I was 20 (flat cost £9,000) so it felt like a loooong time. And as my salary increased and my properties got bigger it seemed that I owed more and more, rather than less and less. It didn't really decrease until the last couple of years. Funnily, I could have paid mine off a couple of years earlier when my parents had died, but I didn't want to give them the satisfaction of paying my debts. I'd worked for this all my life and I wanted to do it ON MY OWN (petulant child / judgemental parent dynamic...)

Water ingress - the scourge of our current property. It only happens about once every 4 or 5 years when there's a persisent heavy rain with the wind in a particular direction (thankfully not the direction of the prevailing wind). Every builder / surveyor / roofer / water specialist who comes has a pet theory which is patently wrong "it must be your gutter" (no, that would happen in all wind directions); "it's definitely the cracked render" (hmm, that is 2 feet below where the leak comes in); "completely re-roofing is the only answer! (really?? Hmm )

NotDonna · 25/10/2022 15:43

Thanks prettybird I
i usually don’t eat bfast. I’m also having a second course at lunch/dinner so portions no doubt increased. I’ll stop that. And seriously up the water!
bfast today was lettuce, peppers, a sardine and half avocado. The b’fasts are pretty LC.

Linnet · 25/10/2022 16:53

Thanks @FinallyHere for adding me to the spreadsheet.

Thanks for the welcome @prettybird and I am indeed Scottish! Yes, shoogly is a word well used in our house, we’ve even taught it to my daughters English boyfriend, he says it’s his favourite Scottish word and uses it at every opportunity 😆

I went looking for butter mint tea today and couldn’t find it, to be honest I only tried one supermarket but will try again tomorrow, where do you all buy it from?

todays menu is
b, 3 eggs scrambled and half an avocado
L, fridge raiders and a baby bel
D, burgers with salad, Mayo and no bun might get some coleslaw to have with it too.
I’m half way through my water might try for an extra litre to see if it helps.

Lougle · 25/10/2022 16:57

@debka I don't know how new you are to lie carb, but it can often drop your blood pressure as you start to lose weight. If you are prone to low blood pressure, or take antihypertensives, it's worth a chat with your GP. I had to stop taking one of my migraine medicines when I went low carb because it's an antihypertensive and my BP dropped like a stone.

prettybird · 25/10/2022 16:59

@Linnet - I get the Buttermint tea in either the big Darnley Sainsbury's or the Tesco Extra at TrolleySilverburn. It does go in and out of stock though.

The other Scottish word I've enjoyed teaching English friends via MN or FB is "to thole something " Grin

I mentioned that in my "medical caveats" post. But it's important to keep emphasising it Smile

@prettybird nurses are the worst so I thought it was worth repeating 😂

@Lougle I'm going to read now for some context but first I would like to agree that nurses are the worst (for everything). Now I'll just get a coffee to wake up a bit before I find out what we are the worst at 😂

sushinelove · 25/10/2022 17:36

Shocking week of no low carbing for me. I'm flattened with covid and eating anything easy. Feel like I'm coming out the other side, so will get on this properly again hopefully next week. Delighted to see the losses coming in, well done everyone

ditavonteesed · 25/10/2022 17:44

Fabulous congrats on the mortgage @prettybird
@debka body pump is the class I'm going to try first is it ok, I'm always worried I'll be embarrassed by how unfit I am. Pt assured me I'm fit now so I don't need to feel this anymore. What nursing do you do? I feel like there are a couple more of us on here as well, I'm cardiology.
I keep meaning to check my bp since I'm low carbing, fairly low anyway and I've just started on a beta blocker.

So last night I got to work and the office was a wash with sweets, chocolate and crisps, I know what I'm like at 3am so I bagging it all up and put it in the staff room, I did tell everyone and it's only a 2 min walk but by the morning one of my colleagues had face on with me. On the plus side I didn't eat any crap. Why do people always buy so much junk food for nurses and then take great pleasure in complaining that nurses are fat.

I didn't make it to the gym yesterday as I still felt a bit wobbly, going to try tomorrow, feeling better now.

Lougle · 25/10/2022 17:50

I'm not a nurse anymore - quit just before the pandemic. However, you can't stop being a nursey type just because your registration is lapsed, so I'm still the worst 😁

ZiggZagg · 25/10/2022 17:54

Hello to all the nurses (I'm not one Grin) but do have great admiration for you all.

Lunch today was rump steak followed by Greek yogurt with cinnamon (busy day)

Snack just now was 2 slices of roast beef and 6 silverskin onions.

Dinner will be chicken kebab and cauliflower cheese.

Need to catch up with water, only 2 litres up to now Blush

debka · 25/10/2022 18:13

@Lougle thank you for the reminder! My BP is pretty normal and actually I am a regular exerciser- I really think it was the giving blood that did it. I hope so anyway- I'll be gutted if it happens again, exercise is really important to me!

@ditavonteesed hello fellow nurse! I'm a nurse practitioner in a GP practice so on the phone all day to patients and very very sedentary. It's not a healthy job- sometimes I'll only do 300 steps in a day! I really love Pump- it's a challenge but you can always go for the lighter weights if you're worried you'll struggle. I find I work harder in a class than on my own though and manage to achieve more than I thought I could, give it a try!

Lovely dinner today, chicken, red Thai curry paste, coconut milk, peppers. Oh, and lots of coconut oil too. DP and DSD had rice but I didn't miss it. And I cooked it all in about 15 minutes!!

Lougle · 25/10/2022 18:44

I used up some leftover Bolognese sauce. Broccoli and green beans, Bolognese sauce, then cheese. In the oven for the cheese to brown.

UnOeufIsEnough · 25/10/2022 18:59

Good day today!

B: boiled eggs and butter with avocado
L: leek and spring greens soup with butter melted in and ham and cheese on the side
D: sausages with leftover cauliflower cheese and buttery cabbage.

Still got to hit my 💦💦 target though!

Skiphopbump · 25/10/2022 19:48

L - shakshouka and halloumi
S - pork scratchings
D - eggs and mushrooms

Was planning to have bacon with dinner too but didn’t fancy it in the end.

I was trying not have any pork scratchings as they are so addictive but was feeling a bit queasy when out shopping so thought they may help. They also helped add to my fat for today.

Mercedesbenz2022 · 25/10/2022 20:01

Oh I forgot we can have pork scratchings , I will get some tomorrow

lungh was salad with Spanish meats and a teeny piece of black bomber cheese
I took yogurt to work but I forgot about it ( amazed by that ) so will have it tomorrow

tea, cod in Parma ham and veg ,

feel like I’m getting into it this week
