Good Morning Campers Smile

Sorry for starting this a bit late - meant to do it last night Blush

Here's the spreadsheet

Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

Already seen some great losses recorded on the Week 1 thread so that's heartening Smile. It's always great seeing how newbies see that it really does work Grin

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway. We all need to KOKO.

One more week of strict Boot Camp and then we can choose to go on to Boot Canp Light for those of us who want to Halo

I've lost 1.5lbs this week, but I'm very happy with that as I restarted BC only last Wednesday.

HaveGogglesWillTravel · 24/10/2022 14:25

Wowsers @ZiggZagg that's an incredible loss! It's very inspiring to read how well everyone has done.

I'm down 1 pound and I'm really pleased as I'm in week 5 (started early) and my weight loss had stalled for a few weeks previously. I've lost 11 pounds now overall which is pretty unbelievable. Best of all, I can see the difference and I'm feeling great. Huzzah for bootcamp. Thanks @prettybird et al.

FinallyHere · 24/10/2022 14:38

@ERDC I've updated your row in the spreadsheet with the results you posted.

I'd love to understand the issue you are having as I've only just started to support the spreadsheet and have much to learn. Let me know if you might have time to talk or even share screens to get to the bottom of what is happening.

My phone asks for an app to open the spreadsheet and I haven't really got to the bottom of what goes on there. More simply from my laptop I open the spreadsheet in a browser window which works ok (so long as I have provided the right link)

ditavonteesed · 24/10/2022 15:36

Velma added her mot with no advisories so I'm celebrating. Also I'm not hungry. Loving today so far.

Crazyone84 · 24/10/2022 15:54

hi all, very inspired by all your knowledge and losses. I'm late to the party as stumbled across this group last week but had already food shopped and planned dinners etc. this week I have shopped with low carb in mind and have lots of choice.

So far today:
B: 2 coffee, splash of milk. Full fat Greek yoghurt with strawbs, raspb & pumpkin seeds
L: American salad (leaves, smoked cheese, bacon bits and dressing) with beetroot, ham, boiled egg, cheese slice and a side of salted almonds and berries
D: left over chicken hotpot (again shopped last week) but will avoid pots and add on some green veggies to my plate.

I know it's probably a lot but I feel panicked that I might get hungry, all these years of dieting have made me believe that is I should be eating 6 times a day! i drink water like a fish anyway but on my 3rd 700ml bottle so far.

I had to pop out and by some smint because I had the urge to eat something, not because I was hungry or need sugar, more so out of habit, anyone else get this??? or just me.

I am due to weight tomorrow morning and that will be my starting weight on SS

prettybird · 24/10/2022 16:13

Good news is that the plumber is here (96 year old has a temporary fix but he can't do any more today).

Bad news is that it doesn't seem to be the waste pipes as everything has been turned on and nothing is dripping.

Which goes back to my first instinct (but dh wouldn't believe me), which is that it was a pinhole/leak in the water inlet somewhere under the kitchen floor/island unit.

I might be wrong though. Wink

Next call the house insurance to get them to do a "Trace & Repair". I only changed house insurance last month Shock

Can I rejoin? I've gone back to carby dinners to save money but really should stick to low-carb because I'm getting really headachy again. Luckily, despite a few weeks of pasta, scone topping, potatoes, dumplings, etc., I've only gained 2½ lbs, so it won't be hard to resume normal service.

Linnet · 24/10/2022 16:41

Hi, may I join too? sorry I’m a week late. I’ve read all of the first week thread and noted some recipes to try, shoogly sprouts being one and I’m definitely going to look for some butter mint tea, I’m intrigued.

so far today I’ve had a baby bel and some fridge raiders as a snack mid morning
lunch was a salad, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, avocado, mozzarella balls and egg mayonaise
dinner is going to be steak with roasted veg.

I’ve planned the rest of the weeks dinners to have with salad or veg and lunch will be salad. I’m excited to see tomatoes are ok as I have a great tomato soup recipe that I love and it’s getting colder so soup season is upon us.

im hoping I get on better this time, although the first time I took part I did well. But my kids have moved out now and dh works most evenings so I’m only cooking one meal most of the week rather than trying to cook for everyone and change mine. Sometimes I got fed up and would just eat the same as everyone else.

BIWI · 24/10/2022 17:34

@Crazyone84 you're very welcome - but I need to point out that (unless you're breastfeeding, therefore doing Bootcamp Light) that fruit, nuts and seeds aren't allowed for the first two weeks. Also, beetroot is too high in carbs.

prettybird · 24/10/2022 17:51

@Lougle and @Linnet - welcome back Flowers. I recognise your names. I'm sure that @FinallyHere will be along shortly to put your names into the spreadsheet Smile Linnet - iirc, you're Scottish, so you'll understand what "shoogle" means Wink. I take it as a source of pride that I've extended its use so widely Grin

@Crazyone84 Welcome too. As @BIWI says, unless you're breastfeeding, you shouldn't really be having nuts, seeds or berries (you can re-introduce them from Week 3 in moderation Smile). And beetroot is unfortunately very high in carbs. But good on you for making a start Star

You should find that once you've been following The Rules for a few days, you stop getting that "urge" to eat.

It's one of the reasons why I like, once I'm fat/ketogenically adapted, to do an occasional extended fast. It illustrates to me how much of my eating/snacks (even if they're "allowably" low carb) is out of habit/boredom/thirst and how rarely I'm truly hungry ShockBlush In modern Western culture most of us rarely experience true hunger (although with the Cost of Living crisis that may change Sad)

Crazyone84 · 24/10/2022 18:00

@BIWI and @prettybird thank you for the advice, I didn't really think too much about the berries so I'll change up for tomorrow, good start so far 🤞

prettybird · 24/10/2022 18:08

You'll appreciate the berries (in moderation Wink) all the more after the first two weeks Grin - they'll actually taste incredibly sweet and you'll never again need to put sugar on them (as I used to do!)

A bit late back to the party but 1lbs down from when I last weighed myself at the end of the July bootcamp.

I suspect it was more but I had a blowout weekend and a few lbs has probably been put on.

ListenLinda · 24/10/2022 18:15

The 1.5lb has gone again and recording a total 8.5lbs loss since starting again. Pleased with the way it is going, on wards and downwards!

Been a busy day, first day of half term so catching up and will post properly later.

HaveGogglesWillTravel · 24/10/2022 18:54

Checking in to report delicious success with shoogled cabbage! I remember @prettybird saying in the last thread that you could extend the shoogling technique to vegetables beyond sprouts, so tonight I shoogled sweetheart cabbage. Yum! I never thought I'd find cabbage so more-ish. What vegetable should I shoogle next??

Canthinkofaname79 · 24/10/2022 18:55

I've had a really stressful and horrible day and not eaten very well at all. Please motivate me to stay on plan when I actually just want to comfort eat sugar!

prettybird · 24/10/2022 18:56

Try baby sweetcorn Smile Yummmm Grin

....cauliflower florets, broccoli florets, Savoy cabbage, white cabbage ...... Grin

prettybird · 24/10/2022 19:03

@Canthinkofaname79 {Hugs} FlowersFlowersHope you have a better evening. Tomorrow is always another day Smile

Sit yourself down and breeeaaathe Smile Have a glass of water just to steady yourself. If you need to cup a mug of hot drink in your hands for comfort, have a cup of herb tea (rooibos/red bush, chamomile, Buttermint, peppermint & liquorice - whatever you have in the house).

If you still really need to have something, try some yogurt with a wee bit of cream.

Keep "talking" on here to distract yourself Grin

I haven't got any of those! Waiting for my husband to cook dinner.

Skiphopbump · 24/10/2022 19:09

L - ham, cheese, salami, gherkin and tomatoes
D - gammon, buttery cabbage and leeks, yoghurt with peanut butter.

prettybird · 24/10/2022 19:15

@Canthinkofaname79 - you could just have a cup of hot water with a slice of lemon or ginger to sit and relax for a bit.

Good that your dh is cooking dinner Smile - suitably low carb I presume Grin

Mercedesbenz2022 · 24/10/2022 19:43

@Canthinkofaname79
i hope you are now eating dinner and talking through your day with your husband
don’t fall face first into carbs , remember why you are doing this and it won’t make your day any better
it’s difficult if you are used to comfort eating , as I am , but hopefully this will pass and you will be glad you resisted
take care

Mercedesbenz2022 · 24/10/2022 19:47

@JudyBlumesBlubber
i used the butter chicken curry receipt from Google , added keto in the search too
someone did link to it on the previous thread but not sure how to do the link
velvet spinach soup was courtesy of @venusandmars
who mentioned it on the last thread too
Sorry can’t be more help not very techie

TakeItCheesy · 24/10/2022 20:00

Thanks for the advice re coffee @prettybird, I'll keep an eye on it and see how I go!

Slept terribly last night and had an MRI this afternoon, so was craving carbs while also feeling a bit cautious about drinking loads of water given that I needed to spend more than an hour being perfectly still Confused think I did ok food-wise, though I'm now guzzling water to try to catch up!

B: avocado, bit of chorizo, slice of cheddar
L: homemade tomato soup with pancetta "croutons"
D: pulled Persian lamb with roasted tomato salad

FinallyHere · 24/10/2022 20:05

@Lougle @Linnet Welcome back, good to have you here.

You have been added to the spreadsheet, enjoy!
