Week 2 - Leaving Lockdown Low Carb Bootcamp

Sunday night here is games night, so better that I start the thread now, before I forget as I've gone to bed so late!

I truly hope that this link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness works!

Apologies if it doesn't, but hopefully someone will come and post a working one if it doesn't!

I love week 2, as for those who haven't low carbed before the results are often spectacularly incredible!

But even for those of us who are more used to low carbing, hopefully this first week has seen you make a good start.

It's looking like some warmer weather is heading our way, which always makes things seem more positive - but also focuses our minds on things like skimpier clothing, so hopefully will help to keep us toeing the line!

I hope the scales have rewarded your hard work, and here's to a good week ahead Flowers

Place marking!!

Although, because of Ramadan, I am back to front so weighed myself before breaking fast tonight rather than tomorrow after a night of eating and I have lost 6lb this week Grin

Definitely a combination of fasting all day and low carbing at night! Very pleased with myself!!

potas · 18/04/2021 21:25

I already know its going to be disappointing tomorrow. Was doing spectacularly well midweek then my husband cooked a celebratory meal and it included a celebratory drink and things have just gone down hill! But, tomorrow is the start of another week...

nowlook · 18/04/2021 21:29

Yay! Week 2!

(Spreadsheet working fine for me @BIWI)

Well done on your mammoth loss ZiggZagg Smile

Timetobuckup · 18/04/2021 21:32

@ZiggZagg that is a fabulous loss you must be delighted.

Do you just eat in the evening or do you get up at silly o clock to eat as well ? I am always so.impressed with people who manage a proper fast. I dont think I have it in me.
@potas food luck for tomorrow, you never know.

Motivateinmotion · 18/04/2021 21:37

Place marking. Good luck everyone and KOKO

ZiggZagg · 18/04/2021 21:39

@Timetobuckup yes I just eat after sunset, I always thought I could get up and eat (food before anything) but actually as I've got older I love sleep more than food!

It's actually been easier this year as I have been low carb / high fat which seems to control my hunger and thirst throughout the day.

BuffyTheBuffetSlayer · 18/04/2021 22:11

I've been wandering between this thread and week 1 part 2 not understanding what is going on!! Why has no one posted today, why has the chat stopped on Sunday? Where did everyone go Confused

Then I realized no one is posting their weight yet because this IS Sunday Blush I thought today was Monday! Been busy but jumped on to post my measly little loss Grin

So nobody is missing!! I've been studying hard the last couple of days and clearly not caught up with the chat Blush But I will Halo

I'm still being good and on track with my food, although I think I came close to a butter overdose and sunk wayyy over 6l water (ill with a throat like sandpaper!)

BestIsWest · 18/04/2021 22:22

Just marking place although I am not weighing- no scales here.

venusandmars · 18/04/2021 22:41

The link works for me, but doesn't land me on the weight chart so I have to scroll left through the tabs at the bottom of the sheet to get to the right page.

prettybird · 18/04/2021 22:43

I'm hoping that I'll at least keep today's loss of 5lb until tomorrow. Had a good day foodwise, so am keeping fingers crossed and secretly hoping for more Wink

The big first week loss, despite being a long term low carber, is because last week was my 60th birthday (regulars on Boot Camp might remember me mentioning it Wink) and I enjoyed the Othello cake (Danish layer cake) that I made myself and rather a lot of bubbly and wine BlushSmile. So my glycogen stores refilled with a vengeance - and I've been pissing the additional stores away over Week 1. Grin

Tonight's lasagne was lovely and tasty: my half was courgette slices rather than pasta lasagne sheets. Lots of cheese (mozzarella, cottage cheese mixed with egg and Parmesan) rather than a Béchamel sauce.

ZiggZagg · 19/04/2021 01:01

That looks delicious @prettybird.

May make that tomorrow.

Up very late as DF is back in hospital and he's very poorly so we have been told we may be called in, I should be getting some sleep but just don't think I'll be able to do it. Good it's so unfair, he's been through so much and we haven't even been able to go and see him SadSad

Covid10lbs · 19/04/2021 01:15

Lost my post!!! AngryAngry
Down 3.3lbs. Grin
Congratulations ZZ & pretty. Great losses.

Covid10lbs · 19/04/2021 01:16

Sorry to hear that Zigg.

ListenLinda · 19/04/2021 04:10

Got a poorly DS hence the reason for being awake at this hour, but checking in with a 3lb loss. Quite happy with that, not first time low carbing but tis still a whoosh!
Must try get some more green veg in I think, i’m eating salad more than anything as it’s easier to make for just me if DH isn’t here.

Good luck to everyone weighing later, KOKO, can’t wait to see all the posts in a few hours Smile

ListenLinda · 19/04/2021 04:11

@ZiggZagg sorry to hear that Flowers

ListenLinda · 19/04/2021 04:11

And well done @Covid10lbs Grin

Rshard · 19/04/2021 05:17

Thanks BIWI for the week 2 thread.

Will weigh in later but congrats for the losses recorded above and for those to come later in the morning.

Very impressive doing this and Ramadan zigg, but sorry to hear about your df.

Amazing looking lasagne prettybird
Hope ds is feeling better soon linda

debka · 19/04/2021 06:00

Lost 7lb!!
I did start my period mid week, but that's still a great start!
Fully expecting it to slow down now!
I'm feeling good, cravings have disappeared, I've got more energy, I'm definitely back in control of my eating. I do tend to get a dip in the afternoon, especially if I've run in the morning: I probably ought to eat a bigger lunch, or plan a little snack mid afternoon. I used to always have yoghurt with walnuts for lunch, but I think I might upgrade it to leftovers on more active days.
B- eggs and butter
L- Bolognese sauce and green beans
D- Herby chicken with marinated peppers and salad and mayo

ListenLinda · 19/04/2021 06:02

@debka well done that is an amazing loss!

Moonswimmer · 19/04/2021 06:20

Congratulations everyone and hugs to ZZ.

I made it from morbidly obese to just normally obese!

ditavonteesed · 19/04/2021 06:36

2.6lbs down this week, well chuffed.

BlueLilyLilyBlue · 19/04/2021 06:37

Congrats to all! Flowers I'm not weighing in until Weds as not quite a week for me.
Had an awful night with the baby where he woke up every hour and usually would be stress eating chocolate by now but water it is! Still need to up my water intake a bit I think.
B - greek yoghurt
L - chicken cheese and mayo salad
D - roast pork, veg and gravy

VeryLittleOwl · 19/04/2021 06:52

3.8lbs off, that's all the Easter carb bloat and I'll accept the other 2 that went on were blubber!

I'm really going to have to be careful for the next four weeks because I tend to reach for sweet things when I'm tired and my sleep pattern is going to be up the creek as it's check sheep at 10.30pm, go to bed, alarm goes off at 2am, scrabble sleepily into enough clothes not to freeze outside, check sheep again, back in bed by 2.30am if nothing's happening, maybe get to sleep again by 3. DH does the early morning check at 5.30, but I'm sleeping in the spare room directly over the back door, so when he goes out I generally wake up again anyway.

Ended up on 18,300 steps yesterday, so I'm going to be interested to see what effect doing about 2.5 times my normal daily steps has as well.

Timetobuckup · 19/04/2021 07:08

@ZiggZagg sorry to hear about your DH , fingers crossed for good news.

I have lost 4.8 pounds so am pleased with that . I really thought I would struggle more than I have with the lack of snacks and pepsi max.

oscarandelliesdad · 19/04/2021 07:08

Yay for week 2. I have a bit of a mysteriously big whoosh though. Not convinced the numbers can be right so may re weigh tomorrow... Have lovely days all. This is the week of the big move and it is a scene of absalout carnage at our house Shock
Last day at school for me too so feeling very emotional.
