Morning all.

Sorry if you're chomping at the bit to announce your loss this morning!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some great losses already posted, so well done.

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway.

Thanks! The accountability starts here...

Mimosa1 · 20/10/2020 09:13

Hi everyone,

@Ifeelmuchlessfat that's some incredible progress, wow! You've inspired me to take some photos. I have a pair of trousers that I would love to fit into again so will do a before pic and post it if I feel brave.

@fizzfridays I have an amazing pork belly recipe for when you can eat pork again. The secret is to brush the skin with vinegar and salt to draw out the moisture and leave it uncovered (raw) in the fridge overnight. Cook the next morning for 20mn at 240 degrees to get the most beautiful crackling, then turn down the heat to 140 for 3-4 hrs depending on the size of the joint. Hope your jaw is on the mend soon (and that I'm
not being super tactless for posting pork recipes!!)

felippertyfeck · 20/10/2020 09:13

Wow that's great going Takingontheworld. No progress on the scales for me. Incoming period imminent, so I'm hoping the results are delayed. I will be growling if not, as apart from my little nut mishap I've been keeping to plan. It was amazing how the carbs were creeping back in even though I thought I was being good. Have a great week all.

Pleaseandthankyou · 20/10/2020 09:24

Thankyou for adding me. Now I have to stay on track

Searchesforhipbones · 20/10/2020 09:40
@Searchesforhipbones Celeriac mash always does the trick for me...
Bizarrely I already did that! I am a medical miracle!

Moving on to serious sautéed spinach now, the big guns...!

Searchesforhipbones · 20/10/2020 09:44

I made an insanely good Caesar dressing by Julia turshen the other day, more like a dip, and was able to consume tons of veg crudités (peppers, celery etc) dipped in it.

BIWI · 20/10/2020 10:01

Recipe please @Searchesforhipbones?!

Lovely to see all the progress on the spreadsheet, and I love the photos - so inspiring, and also so human. This is what real bodies look like, not like airbrushed models. It feels so refreshing and normalising.

B - creamy coffee and celery sticks dunked in garlic mayo
L - left over veg with left over steak
D - cheese omelette with salad

poorbuthappy · 20/10/2020 10:12

Morning all.

Excellent progress by the seems of it!

My appetite has disappeared - is that normal?
I'm worried that I'll be caught out by insane hunger somewhere outside of my house (although also in Wales so doubt that - sending hugs to @Doilooklikeatourist) and totally mess things up.

PurBal · 20/10/2020 10:44

Been doing low carb for a while and plateaued this week, been weighing daily and I dropped 2lb by Friday but then gained over the weekend. Over indulged in food quantity I think.

TeddyIsaHe · 20/10/2020 11:31

Good morning all! Also requesting the Caesar dressing recipe.

Having a lazy day while Dd is at nursery. I’ve taken this week off to sort the house out before having new kitchen and bathroom/utility room downstairs. Obviously 2 days in I haven’t done a thing!

Black coffee for breakfast
Leftover broccoli and Stilton soup for lunch
Tonight I’m making Shepard’s pie with celariac mash and roasted sprouts alongside.

LemonSea · 20/10/2020 11:44

Inspired to take a before photo. It’s all about the tummy. Size 14 M&S big knickers and size 14 New Look skinny jeans which despite being very stretchy don’t do up at all.

Good morning everyone - thanks for all the motivation and inspiration. I think keeping on top of the thread is really helping me stay focussed.
In particular thanks for those who share stories @prettybird
And oh my goodness the photos are so good @Takingontheworld and @Ifeelmuchlessfat ! Amazing progress and appreciate your bravery sharing them.

I have also been following the bra chat as one of my goals is to fit back into some of my decent underworld bras which I abandoned for Sloggi comfort during lockdown.
If when I get that far I need new bras then so be it but I would like to feel lifted and sculpted when necessary!
One of my big motivations is definitely the existing things I love in my wardrobe that haven't fit me for 2 years. Hopefully I will still love them by the time I get there - I may take a few pictures to motivate me.

Would also love the Caesar dressing recipe please!

Liked the sound of the courgette and Brie soup too.

Lyrata · 20/10/2020 12:00

I was very bad on Sunday after a disappointing weigh in (one pound lost). I know I shouldn’t be grumpy - and that breaking is a fast track towards more disappointment - but I really had expected more. Anyway, enough with the pity party.

Today:
Breakfast: coffee with double cream and FF yogurt
Lunch: smoked salmon salad
Dinner: moussaka with roasted broccoli

Takingontheworld · 20/10/2020 12:05

Underworld bras just made me LOL

Yes, reduced appetite is a key benefit of low carbing. By keeping blood sugar levels stable, you keep the three key hormones leptin, grehlin and insulin in balance, and it's these hormones which control your hunger levels.

It's the first of the FAQs that I keep urging everyone to read!

What had you been eating last week? If you can try and remember what you had to eat (and drink) and let us know, we'll see if we can spot anything obvious.

However. Cheating will not do you any favours!

poorbuthappy · 20/10/2020 12:34

@BIWI - I expected a reduction (yes I did read the FAQs don't hit me!) but I went from yesterday lunchtime to this morning and even then it was a push to eat.
Didn't really expect it to be so drastic.

prettybird · 20/10/2020 12:41

My pretty belt. I was able to wear it (albeit tight Wink) in July ShockBlush

The first hole is hidden under the belt carrier ShockBlush

Hoping to be able to do it up by Christmas Xmas Smile

Midlifemission · 20/10/2020 12:54

@Takingontheworld
My old bras really aren’t that bad !

ShagMeRiggins · 20/10/2020 13:10

Liked the sound of the courgette and Brie soup too.

As did I. Have been eyeing the courgettes in the fridge all day, just nipped you the shop for a cake mix and icing but came back without Brie. Doh.

The cake is for my son’s birthday tomorrow. I won’t have any, as I’ve not had the profiteroles recently nor the salted caramel cheesecake that’s currently in the fridge.

I’m loving all the photos—I know it’s really hard to share sometimes but I think we all appreciate the honesty because ultimately it will feel amazing in the After shots to see how far alla y’all have come.

Now to take my advice—banging jeadhache here so WATER WATER EATER!!!

ShagMeRiggins · 20/10/2020 13:11

Jeadhache? Ah, that well known ailment... Hmm

Searchesforhipbones · 20/10/2020 13:51

Okay. I looked at the recipe threads and not sure it should go to veg or fish (it has anchovies in it but not sure of people would think to look there).

Here’s a link (to a blogger discussing it with the recipe)

www.dinneralovestory.com/small-victories/

Also a pic if that’s easier.

Another good one Julia Turshen did (she’s an amazing American private chef who did a great cookbook with Gwyneth Paltrow called It’s All Good and another on her own called Small Victories)

Another great recipe is her and Gwyneth’s Mexican green goddess dressing and the Vietnamese one from the same it’s all good book. In fact that book has several amazing salad and soup recipes and is gluten and processed sugar free but not alas carb free.

Searchesforhipbones · 20/10/2020 13:52

I’ve never posted a recipe here before so if I’ve contravened the rules let me know although I might not have time to check back for a few hours.

Oneborneverydecade · 20/10/2020 13:55

I finally weighed less than 13st today Grin I'm down from 15st 10 in less than 3 months. Only 2st to go!
I'm really very grateful to have found @biwi and everyone here because I'm fairly sure that without BC I would have fallen down a Keto rabbit hole and be panicking over metrics and measuring ketones and all the rest. This woe is so much simpler and yet effective

Love the photos - @takingontheworld I wish I'd had the forethought to do similar. @lemonsea my tummy looks similar but I pull my big pants up to my belly button ha
