Morning all.

Sorry if you're chomping at the bit to announce your loss this morning!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some great losses already posted, so well done.

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway.

Honestly VeryLittleOwl - it does work. The bigger cup size, into which you scoop your boob rather than it filling the back and making it tight is what makes the difference. Why not in the interim, if you're apprehensive, try buying a 32E or a 34DD from Tesco and seeing what it's like. You can always take it back if it doesn't fit.

Unless you're really saying you're flat chested (which is what an A or a AA cup would suggest) Wink

VeryLittleOwl · 19/10/2020 21:48

Yup, two peas on an ironing board - I'm absolutely fine going braless, even if I have to run! I don't think there'd be anything to scoop. Next time I'm down in Inverness I'll go and rummage through M&S and Debenhams and have a trying on session.

Doilooklikeatourist · 19/10/2020 22:00

Fallen into a glass of wine after a shitty day
Live in Wales , have own business in leisure , and will be on complete lockdown from Friday
Am otally annoyed and wine seemed like a good idea
Note to self , do not get back into all inclusive holiday mode
Prepare lockdown list of things to do
Jigsaw
Paint study
Stick to bootcamp

Re bra fitting , I go to a lovely old fashioned lingerie shop , where the fitter asks what size you're wearing , passes you a new bra in that size , and then can tell by looking which size to try next , and just hands bras through the fitting room curtain until you get a fit which she checks
I walked in an uncomfortable 36 d and walked out a very much more comfy 34 ff
Went back last week , as the underwire had broken in my black bra , and there was a social distance fitting session , and I bought 2 new bras , and decluttered my undies drawer

prettybird · 19/10/2020 22:11

They can't be that small - or you're measuring wrong, if, after measuring around under your boobs (for band size), and then bending over to measure over/round your boobs (my memory of the BOB or similar technique), you're getting a measurement that is 9" bigger Confused (my "on my fingers" calculation of what a G cup is - one inch per cup size letter).

I'm a 34DD or E and relatively well/nicely endowed according to dh Wink I definitely can't run without a bra! Shock

My frustration with losing weight is that I can lose inches under my boobs, ie band size (I started off wearing a 36 and was probably a 38 Blush) yet my over-boob measurement stays the same, which means I go up a cup size as I get smaller Confused

IvorHughJarrs · 19/10/2020 22:23

@prettybird, I'm going to give this a go as I'm desperate for a good bra. I was put off bra fittings as I went to Bravissimo a while back and bought a couple of bras which felt very tight but she assured me they should and I was just not used to them. Unfortunately shortly after I saw a photo on which you saw my back view and the bulging fat above and below the band looked so awful I never wore them again! (This was not breast tissue that could be scooped it was between my shoulder blades!)
That would be a lovely reward if I lose a few lbs

MsAwesomeDragon · 19/10/2020 22:27

prettybird that happens to me too. My boobs are always the last place to lose weight, so I go down a back size and up a cup size when I lose weight.

I've never trusted m&s, when I was 38 weeks pg with dd1 (21 years ago!) I had an argument with an m&s bra fitter who seemed to think I was a 44d, but it rode up when I put my hands up!! When I was that pg, and was buying a nursing bra so would be wearing it after baby was born. She was adamant that was the size I needed, I told her not to be so stupid and left. Went to the little independent bra shop (twice the price of m&s which was why I hadn't gone there in the first place) and found that while a 36 fit they recommended a 34 as I would lose a couple of inches when the bump was gone. That was great. Then she told me the cup size, I was a 34 H!!! They had to order them specially for me as they had never needed any that huge before. The bras did fit brilliantly though.

Anotherducker · 19/10/2020 23:10

@Ifeelmuchlessfat amazing progress, well done and thanks for sharing.

I’ve just done a BOB measurement and it’s saying 32E or F. I’ve never been a 32, 34 is too tight these days.

Summery1 · 19/10/2020 23:19

@StuntNun that is exactly what I did 3 days later. I just don't want to flick that carb-eating switch. Just something small if I'm exercising over 60 minutes.
Great bra tips folks. I'll definitely try it.
I got caught out a little today due to poor planning. I hadn't veg ready after work and I'd let myself get too hungry. Lots of yogurt, cheese, meat eaten. Just mushrooms & tomato with breakfast, and leaves with dinner. I had bought lovely veg, but didn't cook them...

I've always had bad days with this WoE, but I know that if I keep going, it does work. I don't lose as fast as others, but I do lose, and it stays off, so KOKO!

Runningdownthathill · 19/10/2020 23:42

I’m thinking of joining. I lose a lot of weight low carbing years ago. Only trouble is we’ve all gone veggie recently and I am not keen on eggs. I can eat omelettes but don’t like boiled eggs,
Fried eggs or scrambled eggs. Someone mentioned a recipe thread, could someone kindly link to it please?

fizzfridays · 20/10/2020 00:08

Some brilliant losses, and wow @Ifeelmuchlessfat those pics are amazing!

Good food day here:
B: avocado and cheesy scrambled eggs
L: hm roast cauli soup with added creme fraiche
D: bolognese with broccoli and cabbage

I can't really taste or chew still so texture is my main recipe criteria at the moment. I've been looking longingly at the beautiful pork joint in the fridge but until I'm able to crunch through the crackling it seems like such a waste to cook it- fingers crossed by the weekend I'll be back to normal!

ShagMeRiggins · 20/10/2020 05:15

The recipe threads are pinned in the Low Carb Bootcamp section. This is the one for vegetarian recipes, Runningdown:

Rshard · 20/10/2020 07:12

Wow ifeelmuchlessfat, the difference in those photos!

Stegasaurusmum · 20/10/2020 07:41

Checking in a day late...
Im down 3lbs, which I'm happy with... I have been good with food even though I'm off for the holidays now, went out for lunch and ordered a tartine, which I always have, lovely brioche bun with goats cheese and pesto.. Asked for no bread 😬 so hard!

I just can't get into drininkg water enough though. Think ill fill 2 bottles today and try to get through both.. Its just habit and getting distracted..
Stressful week with lots to do to the house and VETS appointments, MOT, leaks from the bathroom ceiling and various other stresses... Must not reach for wine or chocolate 😬😬
I can't open the spreadsheet for some reason... I'll keep trying...

Searchesforhipbones · 20/10/2020 07:57

Hello! I am definitely down in Jean size, not so much on weight (one or two pounds depending on day) but to be honest I have ten pounds to lose and they are the hardest stickiest, most stubborn pounds.

Also... any advice on going to the bathroom? I am drinking pints of water and coffee and eating so many veg... is it too much dairy do you think?

Yesterday - a lot of cheese. DH accidentally glutened the tomato sauce I made (this happens a couple of times a year he is suitably apologetic about it). So I just had a head of cauliflower roasted with some cheddar melted on top and some butternut squash (which was meant to have tomato sauce with onions and peppers in).

EarlGreyHot · 20/10/2020 08:06

Hi, do you mind if I join in? I started low carbing yesterday after seeing the scales (171 lbs). Found the bootcamp thread while looking for inspiration and think I really need the support to stick to this way of eating. Husband is doing low carb too so it will make mealtimes easier I hope.
I didn't quite make the 3 meals yesterday but will resolve to do better today!

B - black coffee (lots!)
L - 2 eggs scrambled in butter w smoked salmon
D - 2 thin pork chops, green beans and mangetout - plus everyone else's fat off their chops
Snacks - pepperami, few slices of cheese, lots of tea (black) and probably not enough water

MaudesMum · 20/10/2020 08:41

@Searchesforhipbones Celeriac mash always does the trick for me...

plumstone · 20/10/2020 08:43

Morning all - that is a fabulously motivating picture ifeelmuchlessfat - my jeans are my nemesis!!
Yesterday was good:
Smoked salmon, two boiled eggs and spinach
HM celeriac, leek and cabbage soup with cream and butter
Pork Medallion, with roasted kale and creamy brussels
3ls water, 2 camomile teas, and 2 black coffees
Went to bed at 9am and woke at 5:45am this morning, feeling fab!

Can someone please tell me can we eat Pumpkin? I mean I know I can eat it - however is it carby??? I really want to try it roasted and in soup, but they are big, and if I buy one and they are a no, its a lot of pumpkin hanging out in my kitchen!!

Re the bra thing - I am of larger boob, and find that buying 2 from either bravissimo or a small indpendant shop much better value than a lot from the high street, I used to buy from M&S almost monthly in the search for the proper fit - years ago I went for an appointment at Bravissiomo - 90 mins later, I had three bras that I swear put the girls in the right place and made them much smaller. Since then I buy three a year, black, white and nude and i'm done - went from a 38D to a 34FF and the difference was life changing. When I lost a couple of stone a few years ago, I went to a 32E and in a total stealth boast, had awesome curves that all seemed to work - didn't look out of proportion and I was happy wearing a polo-neck - currently said polo neck makes me look matronly with a mono-boob Grin

A good bra maketh the women - unless you are a women who doesn't a bra - that is fine too, just not for me - no bra and the girls are having a close encounter with my tummy!!

Have a great day!

Notwatchingtvtoday · 20/10/2020 08:43

That’s really difficult Doilooklikeatourist I hope your business can get through the lockdown. I saw a businesswoman in Pembrokeshire on the news last night and I really felt for her.

I had a good day yesterday, stayed the same on the scales, but that’s how I seem to loose weight, in plateaus and downward steps.

Takingontheworld · 20/10/2020 08:52

I'm trying to show some restraint and not daily weigh so ill report my loss monday as I was away f-m this week.

However i just found a ribbon I'd used to measure my tummy long before I started bootcamp, so not even my heaviest.... i didn't want to use a measuring tape because honestly I was too scared to face up at the time!

However I cannot believe the difference from just one bootcamp!

Excuse the mismatch knickers and attempt to hide my identifying tats 🤣

BIWI · 20/10/2020 08:52

@plumstone

Yes you can eat pumpkin! Turns out it's really low carb, at 2.1g per 100g. I checked that three times because it seemed too low to be true! (If it's wrong, blame Sainsbury's website!)

OP posts:
VeryLittleOwl · 20/10/2020 08:52

Hm, I'm wondering if I didn't have the tape tight enough when I was doing the upright and leaning forward measurements. I had a hoick around this morning and the 36A seems to fit exactly the same way the demo how to put a bra on video on the BOB site does. Hey ho, one to think about when I'm 2 stone lighter anyway :)

I'm off to the hairdresser in a bit to get my roots de-badgered, so lunch will be a supermarket car park picnic of rollitos, and then DH has got a sausage and mash craving, so I'm going to make myself celeriac chips to go with mine. I was convinced during the last bootcamp I did that these were responsible for stalling me completely, but I wasn't being good about water last time and this time I am - they're so nice I don't want to give up on being able to have them, so am going to give them another go!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 20/10/2020 08:53

Morning, all - think everyone who wanted to be on the spreadsheet is now on

but am very yawny this morning so just shout at me if not Flowers

VeryLittleOwl · 20/10/2020 08:54

Takingontheworld - wowzers! A third of you has disappeared!

EarlGreyHot · 20/10/2020 08:56

@AthelstaneTheUnready

Sorry to be a nuisance but would you add me to the spreadsheet please? I weighed in at 171 yesterday morning. Thanks!

AthelstaneTheUnready · 20/10/2020 09:03

Done, @EarlGreyHot!
