Morning all.

Sorry if you're chomping at the bit to announce your loss this morning!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some great losses already posted, so well done.

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway.

Purbal I love risotto so I'd be tempted to "take one for the team!" Seriously though, if there's no way to get out of it, can you eat before you go so that you will be satisfied with a small portion? Also make sure you drink plenty of water as rice is about 60% carbs so your glycogen stores will refill and that needs water so you could end up dehydrated otherwise. And then make sure you have lots of nice low carb food and snacks for afterwards as you may be hungrier for a couple of days afterwards.

Totalshambles · 24/10/2020 11:14

prettybird thank you! 😊

Rayna37 · 24/10/2020 11:31

I definitely find if you have to choose to eat something carby, drinking LOTS of water with it (and no booze) goes a long way to offset any damage in the scales.

Anotherducker · 24/10/2020 11:44

Thanks for the hormone info. Low carb always brings my period on, good to know why.

Managed to resist this mornings carb and sugar treats that arrived with the supermarket delivery. I’d got into a nasty habit of eating cookies and sweets as I put it away.

I appreciate having this group as somewhere to check in and be accountable. To some extent it’s like an AA meeting, but for sugar.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 24/10/2020 12:37

Am down just over a pound, which is a relief. Avoided the low carb bread and dairy yesterday, so don't know if that made a difference.
B - salami sandwich on low carb bread. I regret this as I'm now not certain the low carb bread helps. Am going to not reorder for a while and see what happens.

Midlifemission · 24/10/2020 14:02

Afternoon all just checking in.
Another one here whose cycle was a bit off kilter this week but AF eventually showed up and I do recall PMS massively reduced last time I was properly low carbing ( years ago) so am confident things will settle.
CeibaTree I was on a bootcamp several years ago when I fell pregnant with my DC2. It happened much more quickly than I had expected based on DC1 so hopefully this WOE is a positive choice for TTC. Sadly I fell headfirst into crisp cravings but for a long time 2 DC was a much longed for dream so I really didn't care at the time.

prettybird I bet you felt very virtuous with your shoogled sprouts - annoyingly my DH will eat like that some of the time but because he also eats with me a lot he is also losing weight - drives me potty !

purbal good luck with the risotto.
It's so interesting how often it's these social situations that derail us . Maybe for some of us lockdown is a blessing- I have no social fixtures at all so not much temptation for me to avoid.
I do have a November birthday but think I can manage that ( and hope will be feeling like I am well in my way by then!)

I can't recall who posted now but the scotch egg muffins are also going on my recipe list.

Takingontheworld · 24/10/2020 14:10

I've had a woosh! But i won't add on spreadsheet till monday just incase.

AthelstaneTheUndeady · 24/10/2020 14:24

Crosses fingers for Takings whoosh Halloween Wink

I have just BOB'd, as I desperately need a new bra. Am currently in a 34C, but BOB recommends 30FF Halloween Shock

I am a bit dubious, because normally I try loads in a shop until I get one that fits just right, and up until now it's always been a 32/34, B/C of some sort.

But I've measured and I am 30" under the bust, so... am going to be brave and order one and see how it goes.

That's really good to know, my last DC only took 3 months to conceive, but it's been over a year since we started trying for another - the only difference is my weight and being older - I can't do anything about age, but I can about weight :) I'm so glad you got your much longed for DC2 ❤️And happy birthday for next month :)

I did my measurements yesterday, and apparently I should be a 34f, I'm currently a 36c. I am dubious too, but will order in the recommended size and see how it fits! :)

I'm so hungry today! I had a chorizo omelette for lunch then chicken with mushrooms and leeks cooked in Boursin for lunch and I'm already looking forward to dinner. I did go for a little walk this morning and my appetite has been pretty small since surgery so perhaps it's just my body getting back to normal.

DH wants an Indian tonight so I think I'll get a chicken tikka main, cauliflower bhaji and raita. Hope everyone is having a good weekend.

Why didn't you have any breakfast? No wonder you're hungry! It's rule one of Bootcamp, and this is the reason why!

I've bought a spiralizer Grin I've never been so excited in my life!

Curry Cauliflower Soup for lunch
Beef Cheese Burgers with Stir Fry (with Courgetti Noodles hehe)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend!

ponygirlcurtis · 24/10/2020 15:29

What one did you get, ZiggaZiggArrgggghhhh? I had one a while ago but it was rubbish, would love a decent one.

Well done Takingontheworld. Might be even more come Monday!

I have already drunk around 3L and am currently running to the loo every 20mins! Grin

ZiggaZiggArrgggghhhh · 24/10/2020 15:32

Just off Amazon, it's manual so I suppose I'll be exercising my bingo wings at the same time Grin

fizzfridays · 24/10/2020 15:38

Sorry @BIWitched typo- I had the omelette for brekkie then chicken for lunch! I've just poured out another pint of cold water with lemon and mint in so will make sure I'm keeping hydrated. I've got some plenty of low carb snacks if I am still hungry, but it seems to have passed for the moment

StuntNun · 24/10/2020 15:38

It's lifechanging stuff Athelstane having a bra that actually fits properly. It should be more comfortable and it will improve your figure if you've been wearing the wrong size.

It's so random CeibaTree my first two were conceived easily then I have a 6.5 year gap to DS3. Then after all that DS4 arrived by accident a couple of years later. Blush Although I started eating low carb before that which might have helped of course. I had a low carb pregnancy and breastfeeding with DS4 and the baby weight came off almost as fast as it went on.

VeryLittleOwl · 24/10/2020 15:43

Lunch out today and nothing on the specials board that was helpful, so it was a chicken cesar salad for me. Then DH has decided he deserves a takeaway pizza tonight (stressful work situation which has been rumbling on for years finished yesterday) so I'm having the remainder of last night's chicken and vegetable kebab skewers with butter roasted sprouts and celeriac chips.

Oneborneverydecade · 24/10/2020 16:09

Yay for the whoosh!

I can't imagine going from a C cup to an f cup!? I usually wear a soft cup but I've noticed then becoming baggier so I might try BOB

All the very best for ttc @ceibatree

I'm at the hairdressers, almost 3st lighter than last time I was here - the hairdresser noticed I look taller Grin

I hope every one is having a decent weekend despite lockdown and the weather

AthelstaneTheUndeady · 24/10/2020 16:27

Weather, schmeather Halloween Angry why else would I be inside googling bras.

New favourite drink: green tea with slices of ginger and lemon (only a few millenia behind everyone else). I'm not a fan of tea anyway, and assumed that the gratification from green tea with slices of ginger and lemon came from poncing about the kitchen feeling like the sort of person who drinks green tea with home sliced slices of ginger and lemon...

But it's actually rather lovely.

AthelstaneTheUndeady · 24/10/2020 16:28

Congrats on the height gain, oneborn - you'll have to add that to the list of NSVs Halloween Grin

itsmeagainagain · 24/10/2020 16:41

Hi all hope everyone‘a ok and resisting temptation over the weekend Smile am enjoying reading everyone’s food ideas and hearing about losses. I’m really focusing on the water this weekend as I find unless I’m mindful of it I can easily forget. Stocked up in Lidl on the sparking water and can keep a track that way of how much I’ve drunk... my period also seems a bit delayed although I do have very long and irregular cycles I was pretty sure it would come this week but hasn’t so far so we’ll see what happens...currently on day 45 but longest recently was 79 so that’s not too unusual. I’ve eaten quite a bit more cream and yoghurt this week so hope that doesn’t affect my weigh in on Monday. Had a delicious dinner last night. Husband had enchiladas and did me a portion of the mince with spices but not black beans and had a cheese sauce on top with chorizo plus a large side of guacamole and sour cream it was pretty epic. Tonight is cheeseburgers with brioche buns but I’ll be having mine bunless but smothered in smoked cheese 😋

prettybird · 24/10/2020 17:01

Sainsbury's has started stocking Golden Crunch again (I think it must have been going through a repackaging process as it looks different). I've just wolfed a packet: not hard like pork scratchings - they're nice and puffed with salty but not too salty seasoning. 90p a bag I might have bought quite a few Blush

Oh no @PurBal ! I hope you navigated risotto-Gate and that your friend is ditzy rather than deliberately trying to ignore your wishes!

We've had a lovely day at the seaside today before the weather turned and I made good food choices on the whole. Tonight's food is confit of duck and I'm going to try the roast radishes mentioned up thread. I'm very excited to give them a go! I love radishes raw anyway, and I've been adding shavings of watermelon radish to my salads to jazz them up this week and I love the colour of those so I'll add some wedges of that too and report back.

I can't remember who it was who said she walked round her house and found the best place to weigh herself was on the garage floor, fortunately with a side entrance to her house, but I've been having a similar experience. I got VERY excited this morning at what I thought was a massive woosh, only to find that back on the carefully aligned bathroom tile I usually use, I was slightly up on yesterday, sigh... still, I'm hoping to be able to report a good loss Monday.

For those of you batch cooking, and making the cheeseburger or moussaka, do you cook the whole thing, let it cool, and then reheat from the fridge or freezer, or do you assemble the pies (cooking the meet sauce) and the refrigerate / freeze in the pie dish in the state they'd be prior to when you'd be bunging them in the oven for an hour in the normal course of things. Sorry for what must seem like a very stupid question but I've never really batched cooked as we had a tiny fridge freezer in our old flat .

Jdhshekr · 24/10/2020 17:15

I am sooooo hungry today. Can’t see a reason for it - I’ve had breakfast and lunch and both had plenty of fat involved, were large portions and had lots of veg on the plate too. I’ll eat dinner soon but I’ve had to snack this afternoon because my stomach felt like it was turning inside out. Possibly it’s because I’m trying to rely on bits less for a snack.I started low carbing well before bootcamp and have been losing whilst eating nuts so didn’t cut them out. However, I’ve tried to do without them for the past 3 days and I’ve felt very hungry without them. Hmmm.
