Morning all.

Sorry if you're chomping at the bit to announce your loss this morning!

Here's the spreadsheet

Some great losses already posted, so well done.

But don't despair if you haven't lost as much as others. Remember, this isn't a competition. We're all here with different startpoints, and everyone loses at a different rate anyway.

It's ok I found the answer in FAQs (believe it or not!) Sorry Smile

NigellaAwesome · 20/10/2020 20:30

I'm a little late, but 4 pounds off last week which I am pleased with.

I'll catch up with the thread now. Hope everyone had great losses!

4lbs is cracking, @NigellaAwesome Halo

None for me, due to bloaty drugs, but that was expected so will KOKO.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 20/10/2020 20:41

AF today so everything feels tight and uncomfortable and I could fall asleep standing up!
I think I've done okay with food - bacon and fried egg sandwich on low carb bread for breakfast. Dinner was steak and aubergine fried in butter and garlic. Am drinking lots of coffee to keep the water up.
Watching bake off now to cheer myself up.

itsmeagainagain · 20/10/2020 21:18

good day today although I'm also watching bakeoff which is probably a bad idea.... am about to google low carb key lime pie for next week. todays food:
B - none fasted
L cold meats, cheese and very creamy coleslaw with extra mayo
D make moussaka no aubergine and a mascaropone and egg topping delish. followed with full fat greek yoghurt mixed with clotted cream and a sprinkle of cacoa nibs
lots of water drunk but a bit too much tea also....
faniced wine for the first time today but its because I know there is a nice bottle in the cupboard

BIWI · 20/10/2020 21:19

@ZiggaZiggArrgggghhhh

Silly question, I know we're not counting carbs but actually around how many "should" we be having?

Also, does anyone know if the cheese crisps will be ok in the fridge overnight or in the cupboard?Blush

FAQ number 4!

Hello all, had a very yummy tea involving mashed cauliflower- who needs potatoes? :-) and tinned stewed steak which is 1.8g carbs per 100g so I think okay??

So great to see everyone's brilliant losses!

What can we expect after this first fortnight? I would love some berries in my yogurt.

Thanks and keep it up everyone!

1.8g carbs per 100g is fine!

After the first two weeks you can include:

  • some fruit - berries are the best best
  • nuts and seeds
  • some alcohol

But all of the above in moderation.

I did find some low carb chocolate - it's called chocologic and I found it in Morrisons. The dark chocolate version has 2.5g of carbs per line (4 squares). Obviously it does have artificial sweetener but it does take the edge off if you really fancy chocolate. There is a milk choc version but it does have a higher carb content.

20bloodypounds · 20/10/2020 22:14

@MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously I have Llindt 90% chocolate, with 1.4g carb per square. At 90% cocoa one square is just perfect.

Well who knew that you could make soup with cabbage? Of course you can, there is the whole cabbage soup diet thingy, but that is basically boiled cabbage in water for ever

So: onion / shallot gently fried in butter and olive oil, add sliced leeks, garlic, finely chopped cabbage, herbs - sage, thyme, rosemary, bay leaf. Add chicken stock, season, cook gently for 15 minutes. Add chunks of very, very ripe and smelly camembert cheese. Blitz with food processor. Serve with a swirl of cream and chopped parsley.

It tastes like 'veg soup' but you would have no idea that there is cabbage in it. And it is delicious.

Now I am just worried about the after effects of cabbage, leeks and over ripe cheese may send dh to a different bedroom overnight

Hopeislost · 20/10/2020 22:25

Well done on some incredible losses! And actually just well done for sticking it out for a whole week!

2lb off for me, which I'm pleased with as I'd stayed on Bootcamp Light since the last one.

RitaEllen · 20/10/2020 22:27

I’ve had such bad day, just couldn’t face cooking so got a tandoori chicken kebab for dinner with garlic sauce and salad. Is that ok? I didn’t eat the pitta. I had chicken salad for lunch.
The thing I find hardest is having to cook from scratch everyday and prepare lunch in advance, I don’t really mind not having carbs.

StuntNun · 21/10/2020 07:14

I don't want to come over all conspiracy theorist but has anyone else noticed that celery has got smaller? You used to get a big head of celery that lasted for ages but now you only seem to get six or seven sticks. Is somebody skimming the celery so they can sell a smaller celery at the same price?

TeddyIsaHe · 21/10/2020 07:19

My scales are having me on. If I stand on them in one place I’m 10lbs heaving than if I move them slightly to the left Hmm I’m just going to go with the smaller number and probably stop using them.

MrsHuntGeneNotJeremyObviously · 21/10/2020 08:06

I'm half a pound up on yesterday. Am blaming TOTM, because I don't think I did too badly yesterday. I keep my scales in exactly the same place because they cannot be trusted on a different tile Smile

20bloodypounds · 21/10/2020 08:13

On a previous bootcamp I carried my scales around the house to find the 'best' most advantageous spot. Turned out to be the uneven floor of the garage, fortunately accessed from the house so I wasn't wandering naked outside Grin

B - creamy coffee
L - left over frittata with salad and mayonnaise
D - creamy cabbage soup then tuna fishcakes and veg

Plus water, water, water

Rshard · 21/10/2020 08:47

Nightmare scales! I place the top right corner of mine in the top right edge of the same floorboard every single time.

No idea about celery stuntnun?

VeryLittleOwl · 21/10/2020 08:51

Morning. Weighed in for another support group I'm a member of that has Wednesdays as its day and I'm up 1lb on Monday. Don't think I've eaten anything I shouldn't have (although it was celeriac last night), but I'm glugging back quite a lot of bicarbonate of soda in pints at the moment thanks to trying to fight off mild cystitis before it turns into a full-blown UTI - could that have an effect?

plumstone · 21/10/2020 09:29

Morning All,

Yesterday was the longest day in the world - work was quiet, so instead of being productive and start sorting stuff out for the impending move, I faffed about. Meal planned, - Cheeseburger pie is featuring! and did a weight spread sheet - because why not? and I love a spreadsheet!!

Trying not to step on the scales till Monday, however have dug out an old set of digital scales, will get a new battery at the weekend and see how they fair next to the old fashioned kind!! The excitement in my life is cutting edge! Grin

Today:
B smoked salmon and two boiled eggs
L last lot of celeriac soup
D roasted cod, with roasted Brussels and roasted broccoli
W - 3 ls C - 2 cups black T - 2 cups camomile

Its pissing down here - but my new trampoline should arrive!! - like i said - cutting edge!!

EarlGreyHot · 21/10/2020 09:51

Morning!

I'm struggling a bit with the 3 meals a day. I find myself having to eat whilst not hungry which feels counterintuitive...

Yesterday:
B - scrambled eggs, mushrooms, butter
L - chicken, salad leaves, cheese
D - ipd moussaka

First time making the moussaka - delicious! I replaced half the double cream with full fat Greek yoghurt but it was a bit too heavy on the dairy for me so had some digestive issues Blush
I seem to have an intolerance since going dairy free for a spell a couple of years back... cheese, yoghurt and small amount of butter is fine but cream, ice cream and milk kicks it off big time.

StuntNun · 21/10/2020 10:07

@VeryLittleOwl the sodium in the baking soda could easily cause water retention. I hope you make a speedy recovery.
