Morning all! That came round quickly, didn't it?!

Good weekend for me:
Saturday: Cauiflower chicken alfredo (yes, again)
Sunday: barbecue (duck, a cheese burger sans bun, lots of salad and a cheeky bit of coleslaw)

Did well on the water, but Friday's wine will no doubt make an appearance today. 5lbs in total for the week- but it was only week 5 for me.

Today will be as simple as possible as I have a load of work to do. Tuna mayo lettuce boats I expect. Then a bit of leftover barbecue!

nowlook · 13/07/2020 08:18

@Takingontheworld

Do you have the ability to rest up today? To be perfectly frank, you've worked all weekend and run yourself ragged- and that's on top of everything else that's going on and the period from hell.

In that situation, it's a little bit off that your DH didn't do a shop. Is he usually thoughtless?

Do you think the nausea is anxiety?

Laska2Meryls · 13/07/2020 08:20

Well I am officially claiming 1.5lbs onthe spreadsheet but I think it's probably 2 as that's what its been for the last two days.
Happy with that as it makes me 15.5lbs down altogether.
Monday's I have decided will be my 'eating' days when I don't do 16:8 .. so breakfast will be shortly Smile. Cheesy scrambled eggs , I think ! Will probably make Madhur Jaffreys Bombay mustard salmon this evening

nowlook · 13/07/2020 08:31

@Laska2Meryls
That salmon dish sounds fab! Do you think it would work with another protein? (I have mild pnigogphobia- fear of choking-so fish with bones is out!)

Laska2Meryls · 13/07/2020 08:40

Nowlook I have made it with prawns before ( in fact I usually use both prawns and salmon)
here is her recipe Its hot!
But I cut down vastly on the chillies and usually add courgette and green beans ( and coconut milk) .
I think it could work with chicken or turkey but have never tried it.. I have made the French recipe Chicken in Dijon previously and that was good.

Laska2Meryls · 13/07/2020 08:46

I Use Colman's mustard powder bityou could also use tha made stuff but be careful with quantity and if you don't have mustard seed you can use grainy mustard.. play around with it.. I am sure Madhur wont mind !
This recipe has tomato.. I have never put in those, I am sure her original recipe didnt have any

Laska2Meryls · 13/07/2020 08:48

Oh no sorry, this one is her original recipe - no tomatoes- As you were Smile

SparklesAllOver · 13/07/2020 09:07

Morning, well done to all who have seen big losses, I have only lost a tiny amount every week, apart from week one. This week only 0.6lbs but I'm happy still going down. Have a great week, all!

Hopeislost · 13/07/2020 09:12

3lb off for me this week, I feel like I'm on a roll finally!

DH wanted a takeaway last night so we had an Indian. I had half a tandoori chicken with salad and raita. It was really tasty and I enjoyed it more knowing I was making good choices!

Jiminny · 13/07/2020 09:13

Morning. I feel a little sad having not lost anything after my first week. Today I ditch the sweeteners (which was my only transgression last week), and up my water intake. I am drinking unsweetened coffee right now, which I don't like but will force myself to get used to. Onwards and upwards, etc.

Ifeelfat · 13/07/2020 09:24

Morning all

Another tiny loss here but as I went out for tapas on Saturday and drank too much 🙄 I’m surprised anything has gone off this week tbh.

Next Monday I’m away with friends - that will be a bad week. I’m pretty confident in this WOE now but avoiding alcohol will be impossible, and tbh I’m fine with that. I’m going to take Cheesies and lots of low carb snacks so that at least I don’t fall off that wagon. Will just have to take the hit on the scales and then get back to it.

Although I don’t really feel I’m still losing, I look at my total of 17lbs and am so grateful to BIWI and the rest of you. I’ve never done diets on principle, but you lot are like the best slimmer support group. Still a long way to go but so much is off my stomach I feel so much better. You’re all lovely...

SparklesAllOver · 13/07/2020 09:33

Might be me being dense but I can't seem to update spreadsheet, it says read only? Anyone else or just me being daft?Blush

nowlook · 13/07/2020 09:34

You can do it, @Jiminny!
Fingers crossed the scales are kinder this week without the sweeteners.

Rshard · 13/07/2020 09:38

Morning all

Thanks for the new thread BIWI and many congratulations to those who have lost and those who are koko.

Another lb lost here which makes 13 in total.

Procrastinating here when I should be working, back later.

SparklesAllOver · 13/07/2020 09:42

Ifeelfat I'm a bit like you, confident in this WOE now but do like a drink. This is my first diet now at aged 50 and I am so grateful for all the support, I really doubted that I could stick to it as I was so used to eating anything and everything, now I don't even miss all the junk I used to love. Good luck with your week away!

Jiminny · 13/07/2020 09:43

Thanks @nowlook Smile

Abeilles · 13/07/2020 09:44

Morning everyone

Thanks to your interventions last week, I've had a whoosh of 4lbs off. Unbelievable Grin so glad I've persevered rather than chucking it in.

Had a check on NHS BMI chart this morning, and still 7lbs to go to be in healthy range (which I take with pinch of salt), so would like to lose a little more but pretty pleased with where I am.

I think the last time I was this weight was more than 20 years ago!

nowlook · 13/07/2020 09:45

@Ifeelfat
Well done- you've lost more than a professional bowling ball Grin Grin

BrassicaBabe · 13/07/2020 09:51

Morning all. Thanks for the new thread BIWI. Some great losses! Time for a new name ifeelfat?!

Technically goal weight this morning of 9.10 flat. I really didn't eat much over the weekend. Saturday too busy, then drunk. Sunday too hungover Hmm So we'll watch and wait before I declare victory!

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 13/07/2020 09:54

On Thursday I was 9 stone 5 and had been for a few days. Today I'm 9 stone 10!!!
Four days of eating 'normally' put on 5lbs 😭

I'm back on the low carb high fat wagon today so will hope to see it drop off as quickly as it arrived. But it makes me think my finish weight needs to be lower just to allow for a bounce back.

And before everyone yells 'woe' and that maintenance would still be fairly low carb, whilst that's true to a point, as a veggie I won't be able to stay off carbs long term. Too few options. Plus I'm going to Italy in 5 weeks so will be on pasta and pizza then!

Maybe my long term woe will be more about having one week in 4 low carb? But the first few days of adapting are rubbish so that's not appealing. Hmmm.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 13/07/2020 09:55

And sorry for the self absorption. The losses from everyone else are brilliant. Slimmer summer for all 😀

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 13/07/2020 09:59

Brassica at your goal weight! Awesome. Even if it's a bit of a blip it's all in the right direction.

nowlook · 13/07/2020 10:12

@ThinkAboutItTomorrow
What happens if you eat more carbs but keep up the water intake? It was warm over the weekend, after all...
Are you pre-menstrual?

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 13/07/2020 10:25

Yes water will be key. Think I'll just need to experiment with what works. Just really really don't want to see it all creep back on again after such a slog to lose weight.

In the positives I did find I didn't really enjoy sweet chocolate. It was almost tasteless. I wanted the dark chocolate. I always wanted to be one of those sophisticated 'just a couple of squares of Lindt 70% please' types (have always been more like half a bar of dairy milk). 😁
