That looks amazing BIWI! The fish box is very tempting and the 5 litres of olive oil.

MrsKoala · 19/07/2020 13:37

Ooh I am tempted. My freezer is crammed full at the moment. So when I get some space I may order some. I do have a very good local butcher here tho called Ian Chatfield who does some really good value meat packs and half pigs/lambs.

Takingontheworld · 19/07/2020 14:24

whispers

It says im gain off plus 1lb!

ealingwestmum · 19/07/2020 16:24

Have also loved the direct meat deliveries through lockdown. We used one from Smithfield, all very decadent, generously cut and great value, including my first chomping experience of lamb rack (was delicious), but we too struggle for freezer space due to our dog taking a whole tray with her monthly food pouches. Spoilt pooch.

Few lbs gained from a weird week. Attempted to take an overnight break away for hubby's b'day. Booked a sumptuous regency townhouse, 2 rooms bigger than my house, and had a lovely day finishing with evening dinner with an old friend joining us from my old corporate days. At 10pm whilst on a short post dinner walk, we got a call to ask if we could vacate the property as a member of staff had tested CV positive, and there would therefore be no staff to serve breakfast the next day/needed to close it down to deep clean. The good thing about this WOE is that I have learned to take a few sips of my glass of wine, leave half a burger bun etc without overly alerting others to 'why are you not eating/drinking', so 90 mins drive later we were back in London.

Feel really sorry for hoteliers trying to get back to normal, but we have now cancelled Edinburgh for August as I can't bear the thought of driving back from Scotland if the same were to happen again. With dog in tow, there's less flexibility to find alternative accommodation at the 11th hour.

ealingwestmum · 19/07/2020 16:27

I forgot to add; some great results this week, congrats to those reaching or now near target weights!

Takingontheworld · 19/07/2020 16:37

Just made this: www.lowcarbmaven.com/lemon-ricotta-cake/#wprm-recipe-container-16590

I missed the bit about only using 3 egg whites and used whole eggs. My only cake tin was too big which meant flatter/cooked quicker.

It's like a coconutty, lemon slightly baked cheesecake kind of texture. Mine made 10 slices and honestly i was fine with one. i don't even know who I am anymore

Sorry for close up pic. My kitchen is very identifiable!

To make the mozzarrella wrap just put a thin layer of grated mozzarrella cheese in a frying pan in a circle shape, as it melts fill any gaps with more cheese. When it is browned on one side flip it over and brown the other side. Once that side is browned just leave it cool for a minute then fill! It is very easy!

OneFootintheRave · 19/07/2020 21:16

Nice tip @cad186

BIWI · 19/07/2020 21:34

That sounds amazing @cad186!

Great Cad thats the ready grated mozzarella you can buy for pizza ?
I have also really been liking fried halloumi in the last week or so..

8Track · 19/07/2020 22:30

Wallowing in my sunday night feast courtesy of DP. Aged pup is delighted by the pork knuckles as well! Polish shop sauerkraut turned out to be 0.8 carbs per 100g so that's been delicious.
Enjoying my pork crackling now as afters!

Choux · 19/07/2020 22:37

@8Track that looks amazing!

My dinner was celeriac shepherds pie with spinach. Pretty tasty. I had to google how to prep the celeriac and then came across recipes for celeriac remoulade which I eat by the pound when on holiday in France. I had completely forgotten about it being low carb. I love it with ham and on any salad. I need to buy another celeriac now!!!

8Track · 19/07/2020 22:47

Cant take any credit @Choux! But was delicious! And so much that the celeriac mash never made it onto the plate. I'm just classing that as being super organised for Monday's dinner!

Hope my online order celeriac arrive. Fancy trying a rosti this week - remind me of that once I'm back into the long stressful days!

Yes I just use the ready grated mozzarrella

Takingontheworld · 21/07/2020 05:53

Just checking in. . .

1lb off for me so that's 22 lbs/ 1 st 8lb off.

Got caught out yesterday and ordered a pea and mint soup and an avocado side salad (they were out of any fish or meat i like and everything else on menu was super carby) peas obviously not great but doing my best under busy and rushed circumstances.

Another long day ahead for work then tomorrow off, phew!

BIWI · 21/07/2020 08:17

Great progress @Takingontheworld - but you've posted on the wrong thread! We're on the week 9 thread now. Link above!

Oh duh sorry! Will copy across!

SuperSange · 22/07/2020 07:27

I'd like to join in if I may; is this the right place? I've read the prep thread and have some questions about what I've been eating (I've spent the last few weeks cutting out starchy carbs and am getting stuck with what I can eat)

BIWI · 22/07/2020 13:49

@SuperSange - you're on the wrong thread! You need to join the week 9 chat thread - the link is a bit further up
