No loss again, but am having an ongoing weird premenstrual vibe- weird because I'm mirena'd up so don't usually have that issue. I'm still really happy with the overall loss, and am feeling generally happier and healthier- so no grumbling.
This week might be a bit wobbly literally, as it's my last ever week in teaching- so thoroughly intend on celebrating at my leaving do by having a drink or two with beloved colleagues.

ThinkAboutItTomorrow · 13/07/2020 10:26

@nowlook sadly not pre-menstrual. Will see where I am in a couple of days weight wise, it could just be a blip.

MrsKoala · 13/07/2020 10:37

Hi All. Haven’t caught up but just wanted to post so I can find you easily later. I’m 1lb down at 11st 11. I’m keeping Fridays weight as I haven’t been to the loo yet so will weigh then. Have a good Monday. Catch up later.

Takingontheworld · 13/07/2020 10:45
@Takingontheworld

Do you have the ability to rest up today? To be perfectly frank, you've worked all weekend and run yourself ragged- and that's on top of everything else that's going on and the period from hell.

In that situation, it's a little bit off that your DH didn't do a shop. Is he usually thoughtless?

Do you think the nausea is anxiety?
The short answer is yes... he usually is this thoughtless! His parents will have visited and bought enough to keep them all going, so it'll be assumed that I'll restock the house today etc and tbh even if he had, he wouldn't have bought what I need for this WOE tbh! Hes great with the kids, very hands on and basically does alllll the household chores/ cleaning but otherwise oblivious to the tiny cogs. Which sounds minor but i essentially run two full time jobs plus the admin of owning said businesses on no sleep!

Nausea has finally passed. Chugging the water, gonna knuckle down, eat intuitively (helpful as i feel sick at thought of food currently!) And hope to push closer to next stone bracket by end of week.

Im back at my desk prepping for this weeks consultations and i have so much to do ahead of filming next week so I'm way behind- however thought I'd mention that the police have taken over the current situ for a fraud case and my inlaws have enlisted their family solicitor so we shall see what comes of that.

In the meantime I'll be taking the bounce back loan to get myself out of the financial shit show in the shorter term.

Thanks for your ongoing support all. Amazing losses, hope to share my own soon!

Ragey rant about period appears to have forced it to stop today- THIRTEEN DAYS IN. Wtaf. Hopefully not speaking too soon but for someone who doesn't have periods this has been most unwelcome!!

Shit, almost signed off with my real name there... you lot are much more like friends these days. 😂

Ifeelfat · 13/07/2020 10:58

sparkles thanks, looking forward to it.

nowlook the same weight as a bowling bowl Grin that’s brilliant, looked like one at times too.

Taking know what you mean, this feels a bit like a friend’s WhatsApp group sometimes

Eggbound · 13/07/2020 10:58

Wow, some amazing losses - congratulations.

I'm 1.6lb up. After dipping into the 11s last Monday and Tuesday, I've hovered just above 12st since. Very frustrating. But that was my fourth week and I'm now going into my fifth, so hoping for some losing again having concluded bastard weeks 3 and 4.

Still 7lb down overall. At least another 21lb to go, so the scales had better get moving!

Am noticing much clearer skin, and I just don't get bloated or gassy anymore - super NSVs.

nowlook · 13/07/2020 10:59

@Takingontheworld
Glad you're doing something practical about the situation! As I said, I took the loan (cheaper than Student Loans back in the day) and also a three month mortgage holiday. I don't need it yet, but you just don't know what the medium term impact of this shit show will be.

My DH is wonderful (he doesn't work and I have a similar gig to you!) but likewise misses things that would be obvious to me. Dental appointments.

Choux · 13/07/2020 11:26

Fantastic to see my name in 'lights' at the top of the thread but am only there as last week was Week 1 for me. This week is a still solid (unlike me which is still soft and fleshy but a teeny bit more solid!) 2lb loss.

I seem to be settling into a pattern of one big salad a day and one hot meal with veg which suits me as I love salad. And I live alone so only need to cook once every 2-3 days. I will need to start expanding my repertoire a little to prevent boredom setting in. Am planning the cauli Alfredo tonight.

Snacks are hard boiled eggs, cooked meats esp salt beef, cube of cheese, teaspoon of peanut butter but don't need these every day.

Have been amazed how infrequent the hunger pangs are. I did a 3.5 hr walk this week with no breakfast before and frittata, kofta and cucumber chunks for lunch and didn't struggle with stamina.

I don't really have any tips to share as am still learning myself and living alone in semi lockdown is the perfect way to avoid temptation. So maybe my tip is to make your families move out until you hit target? Wink

SulisMinerva · 13/07/2020 11:37

Hello everyone,

I’d like to join the chat if that’s ok? I did Bootcamp a couple of times and found it amazing for weight loss. However, I struggled with eating out and visiting other people so I experimented with going back to a ‘normal’ diet of eating only when hungry, everything in moderation and I’m shocked at how much weight piled on and how quickly. I’m fat and bloated and people think I’m pregnant. Shock

I’ve admitted defeat and know that LCHF is what is best for me in the long run.

I’m gutted I can’t seem to find the Delouis mayo anymore. Does anyone have a good alternative which is also low in carbs?

NumbsMet · 13/07/2020 11:41

Good morning! 👋🏻

Thanks for the mention Smile I felt special just then!

I can't really say I'm doing anything particularly different, the one thing I have found is that my eating patterns have become very regular, so I don't need to snack any more because my meals fill me up until the next one. I have found a nice balance between protein and fat, and stock cubes are my best friends when I'm cooking. I've had a lot going on at home though so I do think distraction plays a role. I am feeling a lot more comfortable in my current clothes though! Nowhere near my goal weight yet but I'm going to keep trucking. Mr Numbs is doing so much better than me, he's down close to two stone now!

Haven't weighed in yet today but will be doing so shortly.

That was a lot of 'I's! How is everyone else feeling? Has anybody made it to their goal weight yet? If so, what does that feel like?! I want all the details Grin.

Morning all,

Thanks for your mention BIWI. I have stayed the same this week for the first time. So this might be slowing down now rather than earlier in the bootcamp.

The only thing I can think of that I'm doing to have such good losses previously is that I'm more or less sticking with Bootcamp proper rather than light. I haven't started eating berries or nuts as although I like them, I'm not craving them so have left them be.

And no alcohol at all. I'm not missing it at all and quite happy to sit there while others are drinking without feeling I'm missing out. BTW,
my DH had Beck's no-alcohol beer the other night, it was 0.7g sugars I believe.

And I've also stuck religiously to 16/8, sometimes 17/7.

I am amazed at myself that I'm finding it so easy to stick to. It must be the right time mentally for me.

SparklesAllOver · 13/07/2020 12:08

I can't access spreadsheet, have tried via clicky link and through Sheets app but I am read-only access now, have I been dumped?!

nowlook · 13/07/2020 12:43

Must be you @SparklesAllOver
I can get in and edit and I'm not even on it Grin

ealingwestmum · 13/07/2020 13:21

Afternoon everyone. Thank you BIWI and everyone for welcoming me into this lovely group, now sustaining more regularly a maintenance weight of 8st 6lbs and managing the +/- fluctuations better. And am no virtuous example as still have a few major demons to wrestle with such as the insidious weed and sugar, but both reduced substantially and will attempt to overcome the former some day soon I hope.

NumbsMet, I'm not going to lie, it feels good! But there's always a look over the shoulder that it's too good to be true and it could all revert back to larger gains in a blink. But, I don't think I've been doing this long enough to be truly confident that this is for real. Better understanding my tolerance levels is really helping though. And I feel so much better, especially not having to strain to tie up my running shoe laces :)

Taking, Flowers on the tough times but good news on your period finally stopping. Apologies on not remembering your circa age. Having stopped for 8 months last year random long bleeds would follow, with more lengthy gaps, all (for me), part of the continuous peri menopausal cycle. I thought I was so nearly there to calling it menopause. Just keep an eye on your iron levels if it happens again...

venusandmars · 13/07/2020 14:04

This week I've got 2 meals out, both will have pretty low carb options, and driving both times too, so no alcohol temptation. But I'm going to be super-strict all week and see if I can lose another stubborn pound.
B - avocado
L - salad with cheese and ham rollitos
D - mushroom curry with roasted cauliflower.

8Track · 13/07/2020 14:04

Ooh, lovely to hear about posters' different ways of 'maintaining'. And lots of positivity and great healthy losses, brilliant!

I'm delighted with nearly half a stone off this week :-) Feeling much less bloated, clearer skin with less redness and flakiness (attractive picture for y'all there), calm mindset - all good!

Breakfast today was a coffee with coconut oil, half a leftover bbq'd burger with cheese and mustard, on a bed of lettuce and garlic mayo. Not sure DP was impressed by my 7am garlic breath!!

Hot marmite as i was feeling very thirsty, but water was't taking the edge off.

Lunch - avocado with homemade egg mayo.

Dinner - undecided! The big shop came today, so lots of choice!

Rshard · 13/07/2020 14:16

Well done on getting that goal brassica!

I think you’re right noraephron about this being the right time mentally. Same with me, this is the best bootcamp I’ve had since my very first one in October 2017. I think in these strange times, the routine and feeling of being in control of something came along at exactly the right time.

NigellaAwesome · 13/07/2020 14:19

Hello all, I’m chuffed to have made dispatches, but not sure I have been doing anything special. I’ve just been sticking rigidly to boot camp, haven’t really moved on to BC lite. I found the first week calorie counting to be a real eye opener, and hadn’t realised how nutrient dense things like nuts were. I have continued to track on MFP, and although I don’t set a carb or calorie limit, I am naturally coming in at about 800 - 850 cals and 17g carbs per day, but by no means feeling deprived.

I think the IF is working well for me, and other than a creamy coffee in the morning, I am doing 18:6. Last week was the first time I had alcohol (to belatedly celebrate my 50th) and I have felt good without it. I put on a kg afterwards, and still haven’t completely lost it this week. Due to a dodgy knee at the moment, exercise is very limited.

I tend to be an all or nothing person though, so I need to make sure that my ‘all’ continues to be boot camp.

Hope everyone has a good week!

Takingontheworld · 13/07/2020 14:33

Ealingwestmum, only 30 so honestly not sure whats going on! Will mention it at next nurse app!

Hopeful for a nudge down on the scales if I'm perfect all week 🤞

ealingwestmum · 13/07/2020 14:47

Gosh, do ignore my ramblings Talking, and I hope it's just your body's way of acting out after being under on-going stress!

Mimosa1 · 13/07/2020 15:29

Hello everyone, I'd like to join - very late - if I may. I lost 12kg on BC after my last baby and have put it all back on gaaah. I went to the seaside last weekend and felt dreadful... and then I saw the pics!!! So here I am again.
I'm not far off 40 and want to sort out my weight before then as I hear it gets harder to lose. I'm also a tiny bit scared of a second wave of Covid, and losing weight feels like something I can control in terms of health outcomes so onwards. All the best to you all.

Takingontheworld · 13/07/2020 15:34

Me too! Its very strange!!!

Although I'm now here feeling pains again. I'm gonna be well pissed if its still not over!

lurknolinger · 13/07/2020 16:14

Great losses this week, lovely to hear how everyone is getting on.
Loss of 2.4lbs for me this week, brings me to 13.8lbs off so far. Need to get to the 1 stone off Milestone this week, but have to navigate hosting a BBQ for friends this weekend, the food won't be a problem, but I'm one of those that wants to be able to enjoy a drink every now and again for special occasions even though I know it will show on the scales.

My approach for now is only to drink when I'm going out and not the designated driver, or only drink at home on special occasions (such as this BBQ) which naturally limits the number of drinking days. The test will be not to over do it on those occasions just because I've given myself permission to have a drink - I'm still working on that bit, as my attempts so far haven't been great - it's as if I allow myself to have another drink as I know I won't be able to until the next big occasion. Blush Will keep working on that one.

nowlook · 13/07/2020 16:39

@Takingontheworld
Without giving any identifying information about you, I'm not wholly surprised your body's fighting back. Let's look at the evidence:

 • You run one successful business during the day;
 • You also have a separate business which often involves you working nights in an emotionally-charged environment;
-You are setting up a further venture (you were obviously conscious that you had a couple of hours to kill at the weekend Wink) -Your support at home has been established as occasionally sub-optimal.

You're doing all of that and managing this woe. Personally I think you're bloody amazing.

I'd be looking for someone hovering around with a novelty cheque, a medal and an honoury doctorate if I did half that.

nowlook · 13/07/2020 16:44

@lurknolinger
Have you met vodka yet? It doesn't follow you round and hit you on the back of the head when you step on the scales in the manner that wine does. Possibly because you can have a really long drink with soda water and a squeeze of fresh lime (I'm such a liar- I can't be arsed squeezing lime; I add a dash of sugar-free cordial).
