Morning peeps!

Sorry for the late start but had to deal with builders/deliveries etc first thing.

So we have reached the final week. Here's the SoF for its penultimate outing

Hopefully it's a good result (well done @MrsBertBibby!) and hopefully we can pick up/get back the motivation for one last week, before our final weigh-in next Monday.

I was at my niece's hen do on Saturday, which started off with the most fabulous afternoon tea (Betty's in York) so it was a complete and utter carb fest all day after that!). But I have three weeks before the actual wedding, so will be back on it with a vengeance as I have to buy A Dress Confused

Good luck everyone Flowers

Afternoon Tea! Impossible to get out of, bithday invitation from SIL, pre-booked. So I went with good grace.

But OMG! I've eaten more carb in 2 hours than I usually eat in a week, and more sugar than I've had all year. It was all very refined and lady-like and a nice family event, but to be honest I'd rather have had a plate of buttery, creamy scrambled eggs with crispy slices of pancetta ungrateful cow that I am and I'm rather wondering what the gut impact will be.... Shock

venusandmars · 21/07/2019 19:54

But bottom line is, I knew the afternoon tea was coming up, it was a rare event and to make this a life-time way of eating then I just have to go with the flow occasionally and use it as an impetus for a return to strict boot camp rules until I've depleted all the glycogen.

So no little square of 90%cocoa chocolate, no nuts, no berries.... Just as well there's only 12 hours of bootcamp left, I think I can manage that Wink Grin

venusandmars · 21/07/2019 19:59

But bizarrely, I find myself joining in with the Facebook hype that promotes carb-laden afternoon tea as a 'treat' and I've been posting photos of chocolate, pastry, raspberry macaroons....

I promise I won't tease you by posting them here.... Look here's some butter instead..

venusandmars · 21/07/2019 20:00

Yum, yum butter

starsky22 · 21/07/2019 20:29

venus haha, love the butter photo, you should start an instagram page, see who you can influence over to the low carb way!

terry welcome to the "i avoid the bootcamp thread when I'm not doing well club" don't know why, as the thread keeps me on track. I try telling myself its because i don't want to derail others with what I'm eating, but really it's because i don't want to be told to get back on the wagon when I'm wallowing in carbs, sigh.

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/07/2019 20:41

@starsky22 I'm mostly worried I'll get told to post what I've eaten. Grin

Tonights dinner, DH and kids were having carbonara, didn't have any courgettes to make courgetti, so raided the fridge and found a pre-prepared bag of runner beans (cut into strips) microwaved in bag for 3 mins, then fried in butter and added cream, parmesan, bacon and some sausages that needed using up. It was deliscious and is my now preferred pasta replacement! Much quicker than making courgetti and didn't go soggy, was perfectly al dente and so much healthier than pasta. I always think pasta is such a good dinner option when we need/want something quick and easy and so im pleased to have a quick low carb option! Wondering whether the prepared beans would freeze ok as it would be good to have some in the freezer for emergencies.

Second egg meal - boiled eggs with butter. Have three hard boiled which I’ll have with Boursin for lunch tomorrow

I am going to get sick of eggs quite quickly.

Feel a bit bloated, we went on a walk and ran out of water so I haven’t really had enough today

MrsBertBibby · 21/07/2019 21:11

A day of waaay too much sick bodies today. Had to clean up my old mum's behind before taking her out for a walk, which meant a LOT of faffing as she can't follow instructions any more. And then I took the boy to visit the ex in hospital after surgery and copped an eyeful of his junk through his boxers. Bleurgh.

I am drowning my sorrows in a G and slimline T. Bad bad bad. Not sorry!

Final push before tomorrow's weigh, then roadtrip and a few days off piste.

Hard day today as at a bbq. Didn't eat carbs but grazed a lot instead of eating 3 meals.

tea69 · 21/07/2019 22:08

Starsky - that looks good. I haven't ventured into eating corgetti yet but I like cauli rice - just can never find the frozen one anywhere!

MrsBertBibby · 21/07/2019 22:26

Ta Terry

Courgetti is veh nice in a stir fry, imo, with teriyaki and ginger, and lots of mushies and such.

I have a bag of cauli rice in the freezer, what's the best suggestion (veggie) to make with that?

Rshard · 22/07/2019 07:46

Your dinner looks lovely starsky

Oh dear mrsbert!

Ocado do decent cauliflower rice tea

How are you feeling after 2 days of eggs alma? I’m off work on Wednesday and working from home on Thursday so I’m going to start then rather than today

Almahart · 22/07/2019 08:16

So I’ve done one day Rshard and I’m afraid I am struggling a bit. Have hard boiled eggs and Boursin with me for lunch

Almahart · 22/07/2019 08:17

But on the plus side I really haven’t felt hungry at all - so that’s not an issue. It’s just very very eggy!

NigellaAwesome · 22/07/2019 08:22

Morning all, I haven't been around for the last couple of days as we are in France with no WiFi. Had an awful time at the airport where we waited 5 HOURS for our rental car ( yes Goldcars, you are utter crap) but had brought 4 boiled eggs so that saw me through. Generally lc, but will admit to a small bit of bread baked in local duck fat. Very farty this morning though. It's due to be over 40 degrees for the next 4 days, so WATER WATER WATER!

NSV my shorts were too big (size 18), and had to do an emergency run to Sainsbury's before I left. I picked up 2 size 16s to try on, and realised in the changing room that I had lifted a 16 and a 14. The 14s fit!!

BIWI · 22/07/2019 08:25

The final weigh-in is here!
