Morning peeps!

Sorry for the late start but had to deal with builders/deliveries etc first thing.

So we have reached the final week. Here's the SoF for its penultimate outing

Hopefully it's a good result (well done @MrsBertBibby!) and hopefully we can pick up/get back the motivation for one last week, before our final weigh-in next Monday.

I was at my niece's hen do on Saturday, which started off with the most fabulous afternoon tea (Betty's in York) so it was a complete and utter carb fest all day after that!). But I have three weeks before the actual wedding, so will be back on it with a vengeance as I have to buy A Dress Confused

Good luck everyone Flowers

greebols I would take that as a compliment!

notlost that sounds lovely, DH often likes to have pesto pasta and I've been looking for options that would work for pesto instead of courgette, so will definitely try that. I prefer to try and use the same ingredients for my meal and just swap out the carbs for something else.

GreeboIsMySpiritAnimal · 20/07/2019 18:32

starsky22, I did! No one's called me skinny since puberty hit!

BIWI · 20/07/2019 18:52

I yearn for the days I was so skinny that my knee-high socks kept falling down to my ankles!

(Mind you, I was only 13 then!)

Came across this recipe that a friend shared on FB and thought it would be a good (after the first 2 weeks Wink) dish for Boot Camp

https://smittenkitchen.com/2015/07/green-beans-with-almond-pesto/

Plus a photo of my "leftover" cheesy courgette lasagne. Yellow and green courgettes from my garden. Looks messy but very tasty Smile The other picture is of it going into the oven (1/4 courgette, the rest lasagne sheets) on Thursday night Smile

I messed up! I thought quinoa was no carb and full of protein 😳

prettybird · 20/07/2019 20:46

Never mind - it's done or rather eaten Wink now. Drink lots of water and get back on it Grin

BIWI · 20/07/2019 20:50

@tea69 an important lesson there! Always check the label before you cook something!

I know @BIWI! And the thing is, I choked whilst I was eating it so my body probably was trying to tell me not to eat it 😂

Rest of day was good though: eggs for breakfast, Thai chicken curry with kale and spinach for lunch and a couple of cocktail sausages at a kids party 😆

starsky22 · 20/07/2019 21:16

Just caught up with this thread, that is a LOT of egg chat!

verylittleowl the shorts photo is epic!

alma well done on reaching your target!

chipping I'm in awe of your commitment, I would really struggle doing veggie and low carb, I hope you find a way to continue, even if it's a revised low carb

For nigellas eyes only - thanks for the protein shake tip, I might try that when I'm on maintenance, as quite like a banana & choc smoothie for breakfast when not low carbing, previously used hot chocolate powder and think protein would keep me fuller for longer! Also noticed it currently half-price at Holland&Barrett!

mrsBB That cake is amazing and going by the book, I think we may work in the same field!

brassicababe hello and welcome back! I think we hit target around the same time on a previous thread and were discussing maintenance, it's hard isn't it! I had a stressful period at the beginning of the year and ate myself through it, I have really struggled with keeping on track this bootcamp, but as you say I am in a better place than if I hadn't started.

notlost sorry to hear about your liver, but glad to hear your weight loss group is low carb and fingers crossed this woe sorts it out!

starsky22 · 20/07/2019 21:25

Logging my food:
B latte
L pork slices, cocktail sausage, babybel,1/2 scone with clotted cream, strawberries, 1/2 glass of prosseco
D beef redang with lots of veg

Lunch wasn't great and lacking in veg, we were at my Gran's celebrating her bday, avoided the cake, but did have half a scone and a little prosecco. Ate lots of veg with dinner to make up for it and just downed another glass of water!

MrsBertBibby · 20/07/2019 21:36

Nandos! It's fab for veggie low carbing!

Except when you eat with two teen boys and have to look at their chips and garlic bread....

I was strong, however.

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/07/2019 02:04

I've been AWOL for a couple of weeks. I've been eating right but massively yo-yoing at least 5 pounds up and down. It's been very frustrating and I didn't feel like sharing. Kept running, kept lo carbing, kept grumpily avoiding threads.

So while you've all been bonding and getting really honest, I've been isolating from the threads. Silly me.

NSV on Friday. Which is why I'm back. Two separate people at work, who were both Hmm about this WOE approached me and asked more questions. It turns out they're both going to try it. So I can't be doing as badly as I thought. Right? Anyway, I have to carry on because the alternative is crap. And staying the same while eating buttery eggs is OK.

So great to hear about people's triumphs over crap relationships and booze. Puts my moaning in perspective.

Almahart · 21/07/2019 07:59

Hallo MrsTerry sorry to hear you’re feeling stuck. Koko

Have had a few days of experimenting with maintaining but seem to have put in 4 ibs. I’m sure that’s not real weight, I had some very off piste things including a crispy duck pancake - SO sweet. I am going to do an egg fast starting today - will have nothing for breakfast, spicy scrambled egged for lunch and a cheese omelette this evening.

Can I just check - is soya milk out when on egg fast? I assume so

Notlostjustexploring · 21/07/2019 08:08

Welcome back Terry. I can always tell when I'm not doing it properly by avoiding the threads!! It's a bit like ignoring your conscience I feel!
It's lovely that you've inspired other people to give it a go too.

I have an interesting aim now. My current jeans have started a thigh rip, so they really don't have much life left. I have a brand new pair (two actually) of jeans the size smaller which are three inches from fastening. Will I be able to fit into the new jeans before the old ones give up the ghost...?

Rshard · 21/07/2019 08:25

You’ll have to share the contrasts between us and the gp led low carb group notlost, that broccoli dish sounds lush btw!

Welcome back terry, I also disappear from here sometimes..... but I’ll be around for the foreseeable too.
I’m going to do an egg fast too, starting tomorrow, will see how it goes! I’m glad a few of us are doing it.

MrsBertBibby · 21/07/2019 08:39

I have a similar situation with my jeans, notlost. I did wonder whether my nice brown Kaliko jeans might fit now, but still not do-uppable.

I need more trousers for holiday though. I keep pulling things out of the cupboard and finding they are too big.

MrsBertBibby · 21/07/2019 08:51

And welcome back Terry.

prettybird · 21/07/2019 09:07

Almahart I still had tea with milk while I was on the egg fast Wink Make sure to have 3 egg scrambled eggs and omelettes if you're not having breakfast as you're supposed to have a minimum of 6 eggs a day.

MrsTerryPratchett - I did the same avoidance/disappearing act half way through the New Year Boot Camp Blush. Was initially just yoyoing but then went on to balloon a stone and half ShockBlush bastarding Brexit

But it's brilliant you're back and posting Smile

Nameusernameuser · 21/07/2019 11:21

My stomach bug definitely got me through my funk, I'm 3/4 of a lb away from losing a stone this bootcamp! I know we don't log food on this WOE but I'm religiously putting food into my fitness Pal to check my calories, and ignoring the notifications that I'm way over my fat allowance for the day Grin

ShagMeRiggins · 21/07/2019 12:39

I have failed so miserably on water these past few days, and my stomach shows it.

Almahart · 21/07/2019 13:24

Thanks prettybird that’s good news

I just had three egg scrambled eggs with Wensleydale and tons of butter. Feel slightly sick tbh

I also know that I have been off piste for w couple of days so feel I would get more from an egg fast if I was starting from a good BC base - but I’ve bought fancy eggs from our organic butcher and don’t have another window available to do it before we go away

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/07/2019 15:50

You guys are so nice Sad Smile

I might do egg, egg, normal meal, egg, egg, normal meal this weekend.

Slightly worried about the effects of all these eggs on our loved ones 💨💨💨

MrsTerryPratchett · 21/07/2019 15:51

This week duh.

prettybird · 21/07/2019 16:03

I didn't get any such effects Grin

Perhaps doing impact exercises (like the Shred on weekdays) helped to ensure any extra "air" escaped Wink
