Evening all.

As promised, I'm starting the next week's chat thread early. I'm in the lounge at Heathrow, waiting for my flight to China. By the time I arrive at my destination it will be around mid-afternoon in the UK so thought I'd better do this now!

Here's the Spreadsheet

Hopefully no glitches with it this week.

So we have reached the last two weeks. Still time to lose a few pesky pounds. One thing you could consider doing, if you feel like it, is going back to Bootcamp and having a strict couple of weeks to finish off.

But whatever you decide, hope you have a good week.

Evening, all!

Lonesurvivor · 08/07/2018 20:45

Thanks BIWI, safe travels to you, hope you get to enjoy some down time too.

BIWI · 08/07/2018 20:57

I hope so too! But don't think there's going to be much opportunity. I will be working during the day, so hopefully the researcher I'm working with and I can enjoy a couple of meals out somewhere, rather than being stuck in the hotel. (Although there is a nice swimming pool at the hotel, so I'm hoping I can get into that at some point. I have done some strategic waxing just in case Grin)

Thanks @BIWI. Safe journey.
I can't believe that we're going into week 9, but with my holidays next week I'm so glad I started and have KOKO the whole way through. I've lost almost 15lbs so far, and I'd encourage anyone lurking, not joining in but thinking about it, to go for it. The bootcamp support is phenomenal. Good luck for week 9 everyone. Halo

LeapinLizards · 08/07/2018 20:59

Thanks @BIWI - have a good flight and hope China is good to you.

From last thread, @waswittyonce, I just LOVE the mental image of you gripping your errant knickers between your knees as you make your way to the toilets. Grin

boldlygoingsomewhere · 08/07/2018 21:05

Thanks for the new thread, BIWI. Smile

I didn’t start until last Thurs so I’m out of sync with you all!

BlackMozart · 08/07/2018 22:53

Thanks BIWI have a good trip.
Finally made the fathead pizza this evening. Yummy and v filling as predicted. So I now have breakfast for the next 2-3days sorted too. Made two bases so the other is in the freezer.

m0therofdragons · 08/07/2018 23:19

Thanks @BIWI have a great trip and don't work too hard Wink

borowren · 09/07/2018 06:28

Morning everyone.
No complaining from me today...a good weigh in!
2lbs off, which is a stone since start of BC.
I do feel that I'm having to work hard for it and I worry that this won't ever feel like a natural way of eating for me, but I'm glad I kept on going. Thanks for all the encouragement.

Divette · 09/07/2018 06:39

Thanks for the new thread BIWI and hope it goes well in China!

4lbs off for me this week, making 20 in total since starting BC. Really pleased, but still loads to go. Already looking forward to October’s bootcamp! Grin

Twoo · 09/07/2018 07:07

Good morning All.

Thank you for the new thread BIWI

I realise it’s not part of twoe but as recommended by Kristie Sullivan’s book I’ve been weighing and measuring my food intake. It seems I was over eating (and that’s really easy to do when it’s mainly fat as it is calorifically dence).

My extra calories had been coming from cream in coffee (consumption had crept up again), pork crackling (sometimes had in the evening), and generally too big a portions in my meals. So for me if I’m covering everything in butter or oil I generally have to size down my meal so I’m not double dosing on calories.

I’m inactive and that will affect my journey significantly. For me it seems calories in do matter. If I eat approx 500 cals a day over my needs, that equates to a 1lb gain a week. If I eat just what my body I needs, I maintain. I have to create a deficit to lose. As it seems I don’t have a good eye for portion control I will need to measure to ensure I’m creating that deficit.

I know for a lot of you ladies (and gents), are not weighing or measuring and still losing and that’s great.

I’m still loving the benefits of reduced to no cravings, no sugar spikes etc. I generally feel better and have less inflammation.

I’m 148 this morning. I have seen 146.6 this week but 148 is still lower than last weeks 149.2.

I read at the end of the last thread a lady lost her britches whilst out shopping Grin so funny!

Nan0second · 09/07/2018 07:35

58.9 here so a stall. It was 58,6 on Thursday (I weigh twice a week) so it will go. I haven’t had enough water for the heat over the weekend.
Been really interesting to read about different peoples long term approaches - I’m a very occasional baker on this woe (1 mug cake and 1 set of waffles in 6 months). I’m better mainly avoiding things but it’s nice that there are options when I want.

Justmuddlingalong · 09/07/2018 08:04

I'm exactly the same as last weeks weigh in. The last fortnight has been very up and down in small amounts. Still happy with my overall loss though, so will KOKO. Have a good week everyone.

Seafour · 09/07/2018 08:04

Twoo your post is really interesting, I wonder if I fall into the same trap as you with needing to downsize portions in order to create a calorie deficit because this bc certainly hasn't worked for me.

I've weighed this morning and my weight is the same so I've barely lost 7lbs the whole bc, I feel miserable and fat, I hate my body for being so broken and even more for looking disgusting. I haven't cheated, haven't had any alcohol, chocolate, berries, I've increased fat intake, exercised within my limitations and will be the fat mother of the groom on Saturday.

m0therofdragons · 09/07/2018 08:16

Despite my blip of alcohol over the weekend I'm down 1lb. 2 more and I'll be out of the "overweight" bmi category. Not going to start trying on clothes in my wardrobe that don't fit until next week but I may actually fit my summer wardrobe while the sun still shines. Feeling hopeful!

Lonesurvivor · 09/07/2018 08:31

Seafour stop that negativity about yourselfFlowers I've seen your pictures and you are not fat. You will be the proud beautiful mother of the groom this week.
7lb is a really good loss and I'm your situation it hasn't been easy and you've done it, that deserves to be doubly recognised.

I've stayed the same this week which is the first time in 10 weeks and I'm ok with that. I was out twice and hadn't a good week besides with eating on the go a fair bit so that's a fair reflection of my efforts.

Twoo · 09/07/2018 08:46

Hi Seafour yes we are similar in our limitations with our sci. One of my specialists said that all my muscles from the cervical spine down are only working to 40% of a regular persons capacity as that is only the amount of ‘message’ that can travel down my sc.

Also like yourself I’ve totally stayed on track, no alcohol, no cakes, no bread pasta rice etc. Totally committed to twoe as I have benefited from reduced cravings, reduced inflammation and stable blood sugars. But I’m greedy .... I wanna lose weight to. Not lost at all this bc. But will still embrace the next one with a hope of losing.

Nonetheless Seafour I feel your 7lb loss is fantastic and you will look awesome as the mother of the groom. Have a lovely lovely day passes tissues Flowers I love a wedding and always cry. Can’t image how I’d be at my sons wedding.

m0therofdragons · 09/07/2018 09:04

@Seafour 7lbs is a good loss - that's heavier than any of my babies!

Relax and enjoy the wedding- bet you'll be absolutely glowing xxx

bettyblueeyes83 · 09/07/2018 09:14

Morning all, weighing in at 198.8, which is a 3.2lbs loss from last week. Delighted to be below 200lbs and now hopeful that I can make a full stone loss by the end of BC. I'm really just getting back into my stride after a major mid-BC blip but really feel I'm in the zone at the moment. I'm not hungry (especially in this heat), not craving sugar, plenty of energy, good mood. Hope it continues!

ilovecherries · 09/07/2018 09:20

I’m not in the same house as my scales this week, but I’m pretty sure that like every other week, I will have stayed the same at 11.4 Grin seafour, a 7 stone loss in 8 weeks is hardly it not working! I’m sorry you are feeling so crap about yourself though. Flowers.

3stonedown · 09/07/2018 09:23

Morning all, Back from holiday and caught up with last weeks thread.

seafour you most definitely will not be the fat mother of the groom.

Well done to all the losers and Flowers for those going through tough times.

Full disclosure I ate everything on holiday, literally did not stop eating crap, the result of this was a 6lb gain in 4 days! Luckily I've been strict since coming back Friday and have lost 4lb so only up 2lb from last week.

We live in a flat up 3 flights of stairs and I was carrying 2 year old DD up the the stairs and thought she is so heavy. Then I realised that since I started my weight loss journey 10 months ago (not all low carb) I've lost the equivalent of 2 DDs. I have no idea how I used to carry all of the weight around. I think that's why a 2lb gain doesn't bother me so much, I won't ever let myself get back to that again.

Rshard · 09/07/2018 09:32

Thanks for the new thread BIWI, hope the trip goes well.

Lovely to read about the losses, nsv’s and koko! I smiled at 3stonedowns comment about losing the equivalent of 2 dd’s. Reminded me of an old message from ilove which equates her weight loss at that time to 2 x luggage allowance. I took a photo of the message, I haven’t remembered it in a weird stalker way!!

I hope we might see a photo from the wedding seafour, I’m sure you’ll look superb.

Waswittyonce · 09/07/2018 09:35

Thank you for the new thread @BIWI.
I'm going to be abroad for three weeks from tomorrow with no access to scales and intermittent internet so won't be able to add to the spreadsheet any more unfortunately, but will certainly be with you all in spirit.

Will be self catering so will KOKO as much as possible, but will be very busy, anticipate lots of exercise which should hopefully help a bit and perhaps offset the inevitable extra wine.

@Seafour. It is disappointing when you don't see the results you hoped for, but honestly, wouldn't you at any other time have been celebrating a 7lb loss? Like @m0therofdragons said, that's as much as a baby, and all without feeling hungry too. I'm sure once you're at the wedding all your worries will disappear because you'll be having such a lovely time. This summer is brilliant for weddings, all this lovely sunshine. I know you will have a fabulous daySmile
Off to get the packing sorted now (which will include loads of new knickersGrinGrin) good luck in the final two weeks everyone, I'll check in on the maintenance thread when I get back!

abbey44 · 09/07/2018 09:51

Morning. Thanks BIWI and hope you have a good trip.

Just 1lb down this morning, to 10.13, but at least the big number is down! I saw 10.11 on Thursday and hoped it'd stick for today, but alas not. This BC seems so much slower progress than the last (a total of 6lb so far). It's hard not to be discouraged, like others, but you have to look at the bigger picture and see the general trend is down. Albeit glacially slowly. KOKO through gritted teeth.

Gammeldragz · 09/07/2018 10:02

Thanks for the new thread BIWI enjoy China.
I'm over half a stone up Shock after a fee carby days, planned, for several birthdays. Nothing I ate was worth that, or the stomach pain afterwards! I felt so bloated and uncomfortable yesterday. I know it will probably all come off by the end of the week, but wow! Back over 12 stone and I didn't think I'd see that again.
Hey ho, koko.
