Evening all.

As promised, I'm starting the next week's chat thread early. I'm in the lounge at Heathrow, waiting for my flight to China. By the time I arrive at my destination it will be around mid-afternoon in the UK so thought I'd better do this now!

Here's the Spreadsheet

Hopefully no glitches with it this week.

So we have reached the last two weeks. Still time to lose a few pesky pounds. One thing you could consider doing, if you feel like it, is going back to Bootcamp and having a strict couple of weeks to finish off.

But whatever you decide, hope you have a good week.

The Jul 8 one is a bit high in carbs. The fat looks good, but I'd aim to increase your protein a little, and reduce the carbs a bit.

You've posted two screen shots though - why choose those two? What are the other days like? What's the average breakdown?

They are pretty much all the same this week I just screen shot a couple as I scrolled through. No reason just yesterday then I went back to last weekend.

I got these flavoured waters in M&S the other day - no sugar and no artificial sweeteners. They're a little pricey but could be good to take to a barbecue or party to take the pressure off people foisting alcohol.

They look lovely stuntnun

Just wanted to recommend Bella Italia as a good place to go for an Italian meal. They have a selection of pasta dishes using spiralised veg. I had a mozzarella salad alongside to up the fat content plus courgette gamberoni. Delicious!

BIWI · 15/07/2018 15:40

I looked for those today, @StuntNun, but couldn't see them. Whereabout in M&S were they selling them? They have drinks in so many different places!

They look lovely, Stuntnun.

qumquat, that’s useful to know about Bella Pasta. I generally find eating out not too big an issue with this diet - it’s staying with family that really is difficult. When I’m a guest and someone has spent time making something special, I find it hard to say ‘actually I can’t eat that’, I also wouldn’t feel comfortable asking them to prepare something different just for me.

My family eat traditional carby diets - bread, potatoes, pasta. It’s the only time I end up off plan.

prettybird · 15/07/2018 16:47

My dad has learnt to make extra veg when he's making supper for us (often a roast) and understands why I never take any of the roast potatoes. also helped by the fact that he's never learned to make roast potatoes as well as my mum Wink

So I might have to have peas - but there is also usually a good salad (with avocado in it) to accompany it.

It's only one meal a fortnight, and only when he's in the country (he's away a lot) so I can thole that Grin

qumquat · 15/07/2018 17:13

I know what you mean boldly. I haven't come across that yet because I live 100s of miles from my family, but will probably come upoverthe summer! It's Bella Italia which is a different chain to Bella Pasta.

StuntNun · 15/07/2018 18:01

BIWI the drinks were in an M&S Food in a petrol station.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 15/07/2018 18:01

Oops, you’re quite right - Bella Italia is a different entity. Blush

Our family is also 100s of miles but with a young child, the demand for visits is more frequent. Grandparents want to see their grandchildren for some reason. Grin

Good that your dad is supportive, prettybird. Extra veg might work...

prettybird · 15/07/2018 18:08

Dad is also very sweet and tries to make me desserts that are suitably low carb. I sent him a few recipes and they've been good. even of he does still have a habit of drenching the berries with sugar Hmm

He's so pleased to see the weight that I've lost (he was getting worried about my weight but too much of a gentleman to mention anything) that he's happy to help me continue my "journey" Grin

Rayna37 · 15/07/2018 18:41

Interested to see those new spiralised veg dishes, they look pretty good. I worked in Bella Pasta as a student and enjoyed my carby free meals very much though not been back much since. I think it rebranded to Bella Italia in the early 00's.

prettybird · 15/07/2018 20:54

I made a lovely kale, little gem lettuce, avocado and salmon salad tonight with a homemade Caesar dressing haven't told dh there were anchovies in it Wink - it was lovely Smile (Dh had croutons with his) and surprisingly filling.

I'll write up the recipe in the fish Boot Camp recipe thread (and the variation, using boiled eggs, in the veggie thread).

prettybird · 15/07/2018 20:56

....and both the kale and the garlic came from my own garden Grin

the little gem lettuces haven't germinated properly in this heat so I'm going to have to sow some more Wink
