Week 9 - Low Carb Bootcamp - Just two weeks to go!

BIWI · 08/07/2018 20:44

Evening all.

As promised, I'm starting the next week's chat thread early. I'm in the lounge at Heathrow, waiting for my flight to China. By the time I arrive at my destination it will be around mid-afternoon in the UK so thought I'd better do this now!

Here's the Spreadsheet

Hopefully no glitches with it this week.

So we have reached the last two weeks. Still time to lose a few pesky pounds. One thing you could consider doing, if you feel like it, is going back to Bootcamp and having a strict couple of weeks to finish off.

But whatever you decide, hope you have a good week.

No choice!

m0therofdragons · 13/07/2018 13:04

Bacon and egg for breakfast but feels like it's going to be a long day!

I have bolognese but how do I make courgette pasta without a spiraliser? Can I use a peeler to get strips?

3stonedown · 13/07/2018 13:07

Yes m0therofdragons a peeler works well for strips!

prettybird · 13/07/2018 13:46

That's what I use. Actually, I use a cheese slice, but same difference Wink

Kleptronic · 13/07/2018 15:12

Aw thanks prettybird. I know what I've got to do, strict bootcamp then ubercamp then egg fast, increase running to 3x5k per week, increase pilates to twice a week, keep riding once a week and NO BOOZE. 6lb in 4 weeks is possible. Wish me luck!

prettybird · 13/07/2018 15:19

Good luck Flowers You can do this!

Remember to have plenty of water - even above the Rules' allocation - in this heat. I've found that having some of my water as "electrolyte" water helps (a squoosh of lemon juice and some shakes of Lo-salt if like me you don't want to buy the electrolyte tabs)

Kleptronic · 13/07/2018 15:58

Oo yes I have let the water slip a bit, good call. I've been having chicken bovril but it's too damn carby!

qumquat · 13/07/2018 17:51

@kleptronic is there areas on you need to lose 6lb before the wedding? Do you need to to fit the dress? Because if not I'd try to relax a bit as an egg fast sounds like quite a miserable way to lead up to your wedding.

ilovecherries · 13/07/2018 19:34

Do you know you feel ok on ultra low carb, Kleptronic? I felt really unwell on the egg fast, and my keto rash was horrific. You do NOT want that the week before your wedding.

Justmuddlingalong · 13/07/2018 20:18

I'm adding my weight early to next week's spreadsheet as I'm away on holiday tomorrow for a fortnight. Total loss of 16.6lbs. Taking me down to 9stone 8 lbs. Woooohoooo! I'm just under 1lb short of my pre holiday target. But, I'll take that as a goal achieved. Thank you to @BIWI, the spreadsheet worker outers and all the other BCers. Hope everyone has a good weekend and the scales head in the right direction for the last two weeks of BC. KOKO everyone. Halo

ajandjjmum · 13/07/2018 21:16

Wow - that's an amazing loss Justmuddling - have a great holiday.

I'm at 11 lbs. loss for the bootcamp so far, which I'm happy with. Hope we can all keep talking afterwards though - not sure I'd cope without the support from you all. Flowers

Rshard · 13/07/2018 21:40

Well done justmuddling,’have a lovely holiday

m0therofdragons · 13/07/2018 22:43

Courgette strips fried in butter is lovely!

Been great with food this week but I know I'm not drinking enough. Lots of water for me tomorrow!

m0therofdragons · 14/07/2018 10:19

It's such an emotionally mean thing weightloss. I've not had any cheat days yet so far no loss this week. I think I was the same last week and did end up with a pound off by the Monday so I haven't given up hope but that week I'd had pimms and ice cream whereas this week I've been spot on.

Big house tidy and clean today so that's good exercise, once I can be bothered to get going.

On the plus side, I've kept off last week's pound. It's so demoralising but I'm enjoying the food. If I didn't like the food I think id be giving up.

prettybird · 14/07/2018 10:29

m0ther - have you measured yourself?

Even though I wouldn't categorise your weight loss journey as a stall yet, when I was going through my 2 month stall, I still lost an inch off my waist! ShockConfusedGrin

Are your clothes feeling more comfortable? Are you seeing other benefits? Like more energy, more even energy, better skin?

prettybird · 14/07/2018 10:30

....and if you've not been having enough water, then you've not been following the Rules 100%. The water is an essential part of this WoE.

m0therofdragons · 14/07/2018 10:45

True, okay more water, I'm on it!

I have the mentality that "I've eaten a salad, why am I not skinny yet?!"

My sensible brain understands but when it comes to weight loss there's a very stupid part of my brain that gets in the way!

I haven't measured as I couldn't find a tape measure but hopefully I'll find it in the big house tidy later.

BIWI · 14/07/2018 12:32

@m0therofdragons - not enough water is a biggie. But also so is the Pimms and ice-cream! You can't cheat one week and expect to compensate for that the next - that's not how low carbing works.

OP posts:
m0therofdragons · 14/07/2018 12:34

The pimms and ice cream was weekend before.

m0therofdragons · 14/07/2018 12:36

Even with that blip I was under 1200 calories for that day. I know that's not how it works and that's why I've been on it this week (apart from not enough water). I even did the school fair bar last night and stuck to water over cider!

prettybird · 14/07/2018 12:44

Good for you for having the water rather than the cider. Halo

I bet you feel better for it today too! Grin

BIWI · 14/07/2018 12:45

Please don't worry about the calories!

But yes, well done for avoiding the cider.

What are you eating generally though, if you're sticking to under 1200 calories? It could be that you're not eating enough fat, which is also a big no-no.

m0therofdragons · 14/07/2018 13:40

Lots of meat like pork loin steaks and I'm cooking things in butter, plus some cheese. Then lots of green stuff like baby spinach, asparagus (cooked in butter), courgette.

I'm not deliberately staying under 1200 it's just when I'm logging it and planning my meals I put them on mfp. My decisions aren't linked to number of calories it's just helps me to log what I plan to eat so I stick to it. I've found my calories are naturally much lower with no effort as a result of this woe.

BIWI · 14/07/2018 13:52

What is mfp telling you your macros are?
