Week 4 – Is this the new normal? Because it feels great!

Welcome to the week 4 thread of Bootcamp. I enjoyed the power of wielding BIWI’s big stick last week so much that I am staying on for another week. Grin Normal service will be returning next week.

So week three was great – as well as lots of impressive scale victories, there were loads of NSVs – bras moved to the next hook, colleagues commenting favourably, feeling as if there is more energy, along with err, some less orthodox NSVs such as smaller earlobes and re-emerging pubes. Grin

The thing that has really struck me is the number of posters who have lost significant weight over the last year, and are sticking with it and still seeing progress. That’s a fantastic inspiration to us all, and really shows how this WOE works long-term.

There are a number of posters who have committed to doing dry February (along with a few who are kicking a diet coke habit). This starts on Thursday, but it goes without saying that this is not an excuse to put as much away as possible before that! note to self

Thanks to BIWI who has been working hard on creating the Bootcamp recipe threads. There are loads of great ideas there to avoid menu boredom.

So KOKO, and good luck for the weigh in, but also remember the scales are only one indicator of progress. Here is the link to the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness.

You're doing a brilliant job Beryl Flowers

I love the new concept of "Hail BIWIs" HaloWinkGrin

I went a bit mad last week, released from the responsibility of The Big Stick Blush On Monday I enjoyed rather too many Boot Camp Lite allowed foods like nuts and dark chocolate and over the week had rather a lot of wine. My excuse is Burns Night - which also involved high carb haggis Blush conveniently ignoring the Boot Camp Lite guidance that nuts, dark chocolate and alcohol can be enjoyed IN MODERATION Blush

Oops Blush

Alwaysinmyheart · 28/01/2018 23:28

Hi all just signing in. Thanks both for all your good work and keeping us all on track!

Have stalled a bit this week, but still KOKO😀

YoLoHogwomanay · 29/01/2018 00:16

thank you beryl for last week and for doing another.
I'm going to try and post a bit more this week. I read all the posts but sometimes take a few days to catch up.
good news: tonight I can feel a hip bone. and it's mine.

CointreauVersial · 29/01/2018 00:21

Yay for hip-bones!

Signing in for another week.

This evening I stayed strong, even in the face of home-cooked chocolate brownies (thanks DD1 - not).

Mimosa1 · 29/01/2018 02:51

Can't sleep so marking my place...

AthelstaneTheUnready · 29/01/2018 06:07

Morning!

No loss for me , but this is my week 5 and I guess it's my turn to stall. My inches haven't really shifted in a good two weeks either, but I definitely look very different to how I did then...

... NSVs: I have cheekbones again. And proper knees with shapely calves. My shoulders are also looking good this week, and I have definitely lost flab from around my waist and ribcage because it's visible. Skin even better, and Ripleys believe it or not old scars are beginning to fade. My old 'fat' trousers that were too small for me and gave me the most horrendous muffin top, now do up easily just out of the wash and although still snug around the arse, gape around the waist by inches! (Perhaps I'm measuring the wrong bits)

I am sticking to my meat/green veg only - with no BC lite deviations - and am determined not to sabotage when there may be a small whoosh in my future. Am definitely on a dry Feb.

DakotaFanny · 29/01/2018 06:34

First week done for me and a delightful 8lbs off. See ya water weight! Very, very happy.

Thanks for all the good work here, I have spent a lot of time browsing!

Itsjanuary · 29/01/2018 06:35

I have put a lb on 😭. Will KOKO and hope it’s a blip

Well done everyone on SV & NSV

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 29/01/2018 06:36

215.6lbs for me. That’s 4.4lbs off, and only 1.2lbs to the unimaginable glory of being NOT obese.

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 29/01/2018 06:36

Please could someone add me?

TheSeasonOfTheWitch · 29/01/2018 06:36

Oops posted on the other thread by mistake

4 lbs off for me this week, so 8lbs since the beginning of Bootcamp. I'm very happy with that as I had my whoosh before starting here.

I just need to stay on track through pmt horrors over the next few weeks.

Good luck everyone, KOKO!

TQBD · 29/01/2018 06:42

How does boot camp work? I think carbs are my problem with weight loss so thinking about cutting them down to see if that helps?

TheSeasonOfTheWitch · 29/01/2018 06:52

I've added you GrandOldDuke
My first major goal is not to be obese! But I think I'm a fair few pounds away.

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 29/01/2018 06:54

Keep going, theseasonofthewitch! That was my first goal last bootcamp, to go from severely obese to merely ordinarily obese. You will get there!

GrandOldDukeOfPorkiness · 29/01/2018 06:55

tqbd, go and have a look at the instructions on the week one thread and then come back and join us! Plenty of late starters so far :)

BIWI · 29/01/2018 06:57

@TQBD if you go to the spreadsheet, which is linked in the first post on this thread, you'll find Bootcamp rules on one of the tabs there. You're very welcome to join us!

JingsMahBucket · 29/01/2018 07:07

Morning! I didn’t post much on the Week 3 thread because I couldn’t seem to keep up but I felt so proud reading everyone’s NSVs. I’ll crawl out of bed and weigh myself in a bit.

blackteaplease · 29/01/2018 07:11

Morning all, 1lb loss overall this week. I always seem to weigh lowest on a Thursday and then creep up again over the weekend.

PrincessPeaPod · 29/01/2018 07:13

Up 2lb. Boooo. I did have a celebratory meal last week with a pudding. So I know why this has happened. Right, FOCUS! Bring on week 4! Good luck everyone, so proud to be a part of such an awesome group.

SayrraT · 29/01/2018 07:47

Hmm, I seem to have put weight on Hmm I'd like to pretend that I don't know how this happened but I do.

Gammeldragz · 29/01/2018 07:53

So, I'm 0.4lb down on last week but I was a few pounds up past week. Would have been less but I fell into carbs yesterday after a bad night with Cat having seizures then rushing her to the vet at 9am. Poor baby had to spend the night :(

I will do better. I've not really lost much since around October and definitely need a big strong push through to get the last 16-20lbs off.

Well done grand and theseason

Scabbersley · 29/01/2018 08:01

Morning all. I've stalled this week. Am planning three or four days of fasting until lunch then strict bootcamp.

BIWI · 29/01/2018 08:02

Just a reminder to all that weeks 3 & 4 are notorious for no/little weight loss.

If this is happening to you, but you know you've been following Bootcamp rules properly (be honest Grin), then don't panic. KOKO and things will soon get going again.

From now onwards, you should expect to see a weekly loss of about 1-2lbs

TheWayOfTheWorld · 29/01/2018 08:04

Good morning - 1lb off for me. Would have been 2lb if weigh-in was yesterday but ho hum!

NSV: in my smaller pair of jeans now. They are snug but without a horrendous muffin-top.

AveAtqueVale · 29/01/2018 08:05

I’ve put on just over a lb Sad. Maybe back to strict bootcamp for me this week!
