C4 for some reason I thought it was a car accident that you were in. I hope today goes as well as it can. Ignore crazy skids and enjoy the banquet, it sounds amazing!

ragz134 · 16/09/2017 11:00

c4 thank you for sharing your story with us. You really are an inspiration, you've dealt with so much and are still keeping the high ground. You looked Fab yesterday in the new jacket and boots. Hope the wedding goes well (given the drama your life attracts I'm expecting an interesting update tomorrow!) - enjoy the dinner and forget the carbs for the day.

Well, I have finally hit a new low on the scales for the first time in just over a month! Think the increased water intake this week has helped.
Regarding 16:8, I was doing this for months as I don't eat breakfast, but have slipped into having a 10pm snack, which I really need to rein in. Means I'm doing 14:10 rather than 16:8!
Currently sporting my new bootcut jeans and a pair of Kurt Geiger Chelsea boots that I snagged on eBay for £15 (size 9!). DH reckons they flatter my feet, I'm finding them a little pointy and they make my feet look long from above, but apparently that's just the angle.

Swimming later with the small people. May skip lunch as DH is doing chili for dinner and that tend to be carbier than something I'd cook myself.

GailLondon · 16/09/2017 11:26

@C4 I'm not eating any chocolate, that was another poster! No carby twatness here :)
But Thankyou for the kind welcome

Parkrun complete in 36mins, and off to lunch soon with the family, Just going to sainsburys cafe so I will be getting some bacon and eggs

CiderwithBuda · 16/09/2017 11:58

Hello all. Beautiful sunny autumnal day here in Somerset.

C4 - thank you for sharing your story. You really are amazing. You come across as strong and witty and compassionate. It's a shame your Skids can't be compassionate. And it's a bigger shame that your DH doesn't call them on it but instead rewards the behaviour. Enjoy the wedding. I've been to an Irish/Danish wedding - that was fun! Loved the Danish traditions.

I'm off to a ball tonight. We had to preorder our meal about six weeks ago. Before I was low carbing. I chose tomato, mozzarella and avocado salad, then Cod with a walnut crust and veg with dark chocolate pudding for dessert. Not bad considering! I'll avoid any potatoes and will just have a taste of the pudding I think. It sounds very rich. There will be wine. And there will be dancing.

Food yesterday -
B - coconut yoghurt, blueberries, nuts and seeds and a spoonful of extra thick cream which was yum and made it feel very indulgent
L - chicken, spinach, rocket, cherry tomatoes, avocado and stuffed peppadew peppers with lots of Delouis may diluted with oil
S - two babybels
D - sausages (97% pork) with leeks fried in bacon fat and butter, then added some sliced mushrooms and fried for a bit, th added some shredded cavolo Nero and whole grain mustard, creme fraiche and cream. It was delicious. Really yummy.

S - four chopped strawberries with extra thick cream.

Have a good day all.

Crikey C4 that Peristeen is the business I can't help the puns either sorry, not sorry. My dad is in a wheelchair and is just given incontinence pads which he finds unpleasant to use. Basically he has to just sit there and wee or mess himself which is distressing for him. Your system looks a lot better and much more dignified.

wombattoo · 16/09/2017 13:00

Have a great day C4

Welcome Gail and Serf

C4 you are amazing. I want to read your memoirs. Please crack on with that. Grin

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 16/09/2017 14:52

Help me bootcampers. I have in my cupboard 400g milk chocolate & 400g dark chocolate bought to make a tiffin. Said tiffin is now not required, I've had a shit day and now I just want to eat it. I'm all-or-nothing (I genuinely think I have BED)so I can't just have a couple of squares of the dark, I have to avoid it altogether. I know eating it will make my shit day worse, so I just need to avoid it. But it's so hard!!

wotabastard · 16/09/2017 15:10

Drink a pint of water and eat some fat. Go keto or go home! Grin

lisbapalea · 16/09/2017 15:16

Have had some super stressful news this morning and feel utterly wretched. So tempted to eat all of the carbs but trying to stay strong.

So far:

B - Greek yog, berries, flax and coconut
L - celery with goats cheese and Pate
D - tbc

Lenl · 16/09/2017 15:17

Open it and break it up into the bin. I would probably keep one square back to eat because I love chocolate and eat it so rarely. But I have very little self control if it's there so would get rid of either all of it or all but a tiny bit.

I guarantee the act of throwing it away will make your shit day feel far better than actually eating it will.

If you are worried about waste remember it's a waste whether it's in the bin or in your body.

Sorry you've had a shit day. Flowers

CiderwithBuda · 16/09/2017 15:34

You will feel much worse if you eat it. It will make you feel guilty. Have something nice that you can have and pat yourself on the back for not giving in.

C4pinkwheels · 16/09/2017 15:35

Timeihadanamechage the message about chocolate was for you,

Sorry Gail

They both turned up. Having a blast

Well I've fallen off the wagon today and definitely out of keto :( We went to spend the day with BIL and SIL last minute and they kindly put together a lunch, which ended up being sandwiches.
I had 1.5 (worked out that's 3 quite big slices of bread plus the filling) but it would have been rude to ask for something else. I wish I'd planned ahead and brought something of my own :( I've got so used to being able to work around on this Woe and thought we'd be going out for lunch. Oh well, it was v kind of them and I enjoyed it but didn't feel they were worth the carbs iyswim.
Unlike the Heinz tomato soup I had for dinner. My complete comfort food whenever I feel one degree under. I think we're all coming down with a cold in the Mimosa household. I'll start again tomorrow and hope the scales will be kind.

C4, enjoy the wedding! I second wombat's remark about reading your memoirs!

Len, I hope you're ok

Hop, could you grate some of the chocolate into some cream and chuck the rest? As Leni says it's still waste.

Mimosa1 · 16/09/2017 20:35

Lisb not Len, sorry

Gcalgske · 16/09/2017 21:00

Been off mn for a while but would love to join in the next bc

Any old faces on here that might remember me?

Hello everyone old and new xxx

prettybird · 16/09/2017 21:21

I fell off the wagon a bit yesterday Blush - ate a couple of the elevator lady spice cookies dh's favourite It was a good example of how the munchies can hit if you don't drink enough water. I knew I needed to drink more I was actually thirsty Confused but having a biscuit was easier Blush

Today has been better though - despite making a massive batch of chocolate chip cookies for ds' rugby game today and a Minis' Festival tomorrow. I've also made a batch of tablet for tomorrow - will "need" to eat one piece just to check consistency but as long as I pack up all the rest to sell, I won't be tempted.

poorbuthappy · 16/09/2017 21:28

Hello all. Been lurking for a few weeks and just about to enter week 3 of low carb.
I have not fallen off the wagon at all apart from a few drinks every few days.

So period this week and it's gone a bit weird.
Does low carb mess mess with your periods?

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 16/09/2017 21:30

I didn't eat the chocolate. I feel pretty chuffed with myself. I think I'll still bake stuff with it to take to work though so it's gone and can't tempt me!

mimosa just draw a line under it and get back on it.

prettybird I love love love tablet!

prettybird · 16/09/2017 21:43

Hippa - no you don't. It's horrible, pernicious more ish stuff. Nasty, nasty stuff. It's evil. Temptation. You really, really don't want any. Grin

(I have a reputation for making the best tablet any of my friends have ever had, so I'm often asked to make it for them and expected to make it for any of the larger fund raising events at the rugby club they then nab it all )

ASDismynormality · 16/09/2017 22:11

poorbuthappy. My period changed the first few months of low carb- sometimes longer cycles , sometimes short ones and at the start my periods got really heavy! Thankfully it has settled back to normal now!

FruitCider · 16/09/2017 22:36

Hi all, can I join? I did exante for 9 weeks, did TS for a week then switched to man plan. Found it hard then looked at the pack and realised each one has 17-21g of carbs in! Shock I'm due to go back on low carb diet mid next week and not sure which model to follow. I'm veggie so protein will mainly be from quorn, I've got the main meal down I just don't know how to manage the rest!

Gcalgske · 17/09/2017 06:28

poorbuthappy yeah it can mess with your periods. Fat stores hormones, when you lose weight the hormones get released into the body and your periods go a bit loopy for a while. It will pass.

starsky22 · 17/09/2017 08:37

Welcome back gcalgske and welcome poor and fruit

fruit I've got no idea what exante, TS or man plan means I'm afraid!

Well done on resisting the chocolate hippa good idea to use it up and get it out of the house.

Prettybird I love tablet too, really want to ask for your recipe, but there is no way I could make it and not eat it all!

I'm still struggling to be strict after I all the carbs I had last weekend, I've had a bite of my son's flapjack, a couple of slices of banana and a few bites of poppadom over the last couple of days, so not too much, but it all adds up and I feel it is a slippery slope! I think I am back in keto now, so going to make a real effort to stick to SSS this week.

Yesterday:
B strawberry and banana almond milk smoothie
L bunless bacon double cheeseburger
S pork scratchings
D chicken korma, tandoori prawns, cauliflower rice, poppadoms
