I was just reading through the last BC week 1 thread and came across the idea of mixing a little bit of mustard into Philly to make a mustard dip for my sausages. It was luvverly!

Grimbles · 14/09/2017 21:40

Hello littlebillie!

TempusEejit · 14/09/2017 21:51

twinklestar Just tell yourself you only need to stick to it tomorrow. Not this week, or this month, but just one day. Then tell yourself the same again tomorrow...

Are you stocked up with keto friendly foods? Buy yourself something really delicious that you'll look forward to eating. Good luck!

Veryflummoxed · 14/09/2017 21:53

Tempus you've fasted for four days?

C4 how frustrating. Glad it's sorted and you've got a new jacket

Jimimny sorry that's so sad for you and your partner. Well done on all the rearranging. And the dress looks absolutely gorgeous and you look so very slim in it. Hope the day is everything you could wish for.

Thanks for the new thread Wombattoo

littlebillie · 14/09/2017 21:55

wombatto thank you Ill try the soup, I tried a cauliflower cheese one this week it was lovely!

BIWI · 14/09/2017 21:57

Evening all!

Thanks for the new thread @wombattoo

Made Vietnamese pho from the Blood Sugar Diet recipe book tonight (although I used two chicken breasts instead of 8 prawns Hmm)

It was lovely - but although low carb, probably not really high fat. But still, a really easy meal and very, very tasty.

I didn't really need a lower calorie meal, as I had two scrambled eggs and some smoked salmon with lemon juice for lunch, but still worth a try.

TempusEejit · 14/09/2017 21:58

Very yes I have! As long as I tell myself I can stop it any time I like then I find it surprisingly easy especially as I cook the family stuff they like but I'm not keen on It's all Jason Fung's fault! Really enjoyed my dinner tonight though Grin

twinklestar2 · 14/09/2017 22:08

Thank you tempus. I've planned 3 yummy meals for tomorrow -

Breakfast - Scrambled eggs

Lunch is chicken with green veg

Dinner is chilli con carne with Greek yoghurt

TempusEejit · 14/09/2017 22:10

That sounds like a nice day's food twinkle. What been causing you to go off track so far?

TempusEejit · 14/09/2017 22:14

BIWI that Vietnamese Pho sounds nice. I have the blood sugar diet book too but haven't got round to cooking anything from it yet.

Btw I tried making the crust from your shallot and gruyere quiche tonight but the pastry case shattered. Any idea where I might have gone wrong? Tasted really good though Smile

twinklestar2 · 14/09/2017 22:17

Tempus - fallen back into the habit of eating crisps every day, busy at work, been on holiday so trying to get back to it after... I've had a couple of days on track but keep falling off the wagon!

TempusEejit · 14/09/2017 22:24

Anything else you can take for snacks twinkle just until you get through the tough bit? I make peanut cookies or keto cheetos for DH to take to work, not bootcamp approved I know but if it helps you get into the swing of things it'd be better than falling off the wagon altogether? Only as a short term solution of course...

twinklestar2 · 14/09/2017 22:27

I will take some berries with me to work.

C4 (((unmumsnetty hug))) Glad you are there safely - I was thinking I'd be bumping into you at the airport tomorrow! Hope your pain eases soon Flowers

ilovecherries · 14/09/2017 23:09

Arrived in Inverness at last. My mum, bless her, has bought the IPD cookbook so she can cook for me - looking at it I'm not convinced that everything is entirely low carb but she's told me to mark the recipes I want so she can go shopping, so I'll just be selective. She's made brocilli and Stilton soup for me tonight, since I knew I'd be late. She looked a bit anxious when I chucked some double cream and salt in but I get the sense she's doing her very best to be supportive - and at 85, im kinda impressed that she's still open minded enough to give it a go. Fat scares her though, but I think my dad is looking forward to a week of normally forbidden food Grin

User5trillion · 14/09/2017 23:36

Just made a lush oxtail and horseradish soup- the weather seems right for it. Made proper stock, hoping all the gelatine will sort my terrible nails out.

Almost put my heating on but put another layer on as I am tight!

The soup will do me for the weekend as I am working.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 15/09/2017 06:32

Grimbles why are you weighing every day? Leave it for once a week, or once a month, like I do. Much less stressful!

User I put the heating on timed so it came on yesterday morning and this morning. It's so cosy!

Food plan for today:
L - Big old salad with leftover aubergine & halloumi
D - Basa fillets, courgette and broccoli rice

CiderwithBuda · 15/09/2017 07:42

Morning all.

C4 - glad you got there safely. Hope all goes well and you manage to rest a bit and recover some energy. I assume Skids are step kids? It all sounds stressful.

Food yesterday -
B - nectarine, coconut yoghurt, nuts and seeds
L - corned beef and cheese and onion deli filler thing
S - two babybels
D - a disaster of an omelette! Had some roast veg to use from night before so fried them in butter to reheat and added egg and feta. Made mistake of making in new stainless pan rather than non-stick and I stuck. So it was a bit of an omelette mush. Tasted ok. Planned to treat myself to some Brie or berries and cream after but didn't in the end.

I'm really not drinking enough water so that is today's aim.

littlebillie · 15/09/2017 07:52

C4 ❤️ Copenhagen

twinklestar2 · 15/09/2017 08:47

Tempus - thanks so much for your help last night. Started the day with my scrambled eggs.

Also to the PP who said not to weigh every day, I took your advice! Less stressful for sure!

prettybird · 15/09/2017 08:53

C4 - glad you got to Copenhagen safely. Hope today is better and you can start enjoying yourself.

YoLoZammo · 15/09/2017 09:12

c4 what a shitstorm indeed! I admire your stoicism. I would have let rip big time. I hope the trip starts to improve. Bride health, travel disasters, twatty DH, skids...look on the bright side. Nothing else can go wrong! I hope you brought something to keep yourself occupied with as I expect you will need some alone time away from stressful people while you are there Wine. I'm looking forward to seeing pics of you in that DIVINE jacket!!

jim I'm so sorry to hear about your DPs dad. How wonderful that he will get to see you both married though. Your wedding day will be smiles and tears and so very very special. You look fabulous in the dress. I bet your worries about that seem unimportant now. Have a wonderful memorable day Flowers.

grimbles and other newbies, listen up. 3 DAYS AT THE SAME WEIGHT IS NOT A STALL!!!!! You should expect at various points in time on this WOE for there to be at least 3 WEEKS OR MORE of no weight loss. Then odd weeks of whooshes and other weeks of steady but small losses. Excuse the shouting but we all have to manage our expectations on this WOE and it's a long term thing. The initial couple of weeks dramatic loss is not sustainable. It's mostly water at that point anyway. Warning: if your expectations are unrealistic then you will fall off the woe and go back to carby twatdom, put on all you have lost and more and stay fat!!!

And for those who say 'I don't know why I haven't lost weight' then in the next sentence say they had 2 glasses of wine, well you have answered your own question!! You know who you are! Wink

lisbapalea · 15/09/2017 09:13

Abandoned dinner last night as DH was back late so we will have that tonight - means I don't need to spend any time chopping and prepping which is good.

It does mean I ended up having a bit of a selection of not particularly great food as my dinner - some raspberries with double cream and grated 90% choc; a piece of cheese, a handful of salted nuts. Not ideal and shows how important a proper meal is. But on the other hand I am pleased that I did restrain myself to 'just' those things, as in a previously life I would have used that kind of evening as a perfect opportunity to binge on as much sweet crap as I could find in the cupboards / fridge . freezer.

Today:
B - greek yog, some berries, flax and coconut flakes
L - will be a salad from work canteen, prob involving boiled egg and tuna mayo
D - roasted cod as per yesterday's plan

GailLondon · 15/09/2017 09:17

Hi Everyone, i've been lurking for a while but hoping to join in the next bootcamp.
I've been low-carbing for about 2 weeks, feeling much much better this week after struggling with dizziness and hunger to begin with.
Lunch: Chicken breast, mayo, greens
Dinner: Friday night takeaway! We are ordering Japanese tonight, i'll get the sashimi, and the chefs special futomaki which are fab sushi rolls with just fish/avocado and cucumber, no rice inside them obvs
Snacks: not sure yet, something fatty to get my fat ratio up!
