Oh C4 are you sure you not writing a comedy skit for the BBC,
your DH must be going nuts on the inside, logistical it seems to be best for him concentrate on you 2 and tell the skids to get a cab or minibus. Book it tonight. Then get him to try to relax, with you and feel how nice and soft that jacket feels......

You'll have to point out that when they need to they did look after themselves, and went to the bar without him. So let them be grown up and manage their own life. If he has cash to spare, give the little ones something.

How's Alfie and your DIL doing?

Stunt & Temp interesting about fasting I'll have a read.
On my last 20lb to target and with the BF% being 22.4 the other day, thinking I need to do some resistance exercise.
Think I'm following the 8:16 plan ilove mentioned, 8 hours not eating -- normal times for me is 7:30, 12:30 and 18:30 snack at 10pm. Could cut the snack as sure it keeps me awake til 1am.
could miss breakfast once or twice a week. probably easier at the weekend.

twinklestar2 · 15/09/2017 20:19

To look fab C4. Hope the holiday gets better from now on, the only way is up.

Me, well I did well till about 4 then was a semi carby twat but will keep on plodding along and trying till my mojo comes back.

prettybird · 15/09/2017 20:21

C4 - this article, written by a MN friend of mine (I have met her and she's lovely) seems particularly apt re your skids.

The last two sentence of the Guardian article she links to horrify me. Saskia Sarginson seems almost proud of the fact that she is enabling bringing up useless children Shock

louisepennington.org/raising-useless-children-disaster-helicopter-parenting/

(and your jacket looks fab)

ilovecherries · 15/09/2017 20:45

Grah, I do 16-17 hours not eating. All my eating happens in a 7-8 hour window.

Mimosa, I found during the first two weeks of bootcamp that my hunger decreased rapidly, and I was only eating breakfast because it was in 'the rules'. Once we went onto BC lite I started to eat less and less at breakfast, and push it slightly later every day, till after a couple of weeks I just dropped it altogether. I'm losing steady 1lb a week now, and have lost 2.5 stone since the end of May.

Mimosa1 · 15/09/2017 21:55

Wow ilove that's impressive .

Grah0SoontobeaFitty · 15/09/2017 22:47

Ilove sorry
Stunt said 16:8 is an 8-hour eating window
and it was Nomore who said I want to work towards some fasting like 8:16

not you.

So many chat people. Also forgot to say hi to @GailLondon as the latest de-lurker.

C4 the tour of demark is a big race lots of road closures

saturday 16 September 2017 5/ Ebeltoft > Aarhus 198 km

Suppose with the luck your having, you will be trying to go in the opposite direction as them but on the same route.

Smile, it's only 1 day and remember the skids are going to be having so much more "FUN" if you are able to smile and enjoy the spectacle.

TempusEejit · 15/09/2017 22:47

Pleased to report that despite a chicken pie dinner and profiteroles last night (all keto) I weighed exactly the same this morning as I did yesterday i.e. refeeding after fasting didn't cause a gain. StuntNun I would definitely be interested in joining a fasting group.

I'm currently in an airport hotel about to get some sleep before our 6:30 flight tomorrow morning. Had an eaty day today - went to our local farm shop for a cooked breakfast (full English minus potato or toast and I left most of the baked beans). Then went into town tonight and had a Nandos - surprisingly low carb friendly there! Hoping not to go too off-piste on holiday this week - I will need to report in here regularly so you can go all Fr Ted/Bishop Brennan on me and kick me up the arse as needed!

Have a good keto weekend all Smile

starsky22 · 15/09/2017 22:56

C4 I'm another reader that loves your style of writing and had the same thought as Grah, that I would definitely watch a tv programme about your life! So sorry that you are having to deal with these dramas, but I'm impressed that you've stuck to low carb throughout all of it, koko!

Today:
B latte
L meatballs, spinach, tomato sauce, mozzarella
D indian spiced prawns and saag paneer

Not enough water today

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 15/09/2017 22:59

yes Grah I turned it the wrong way round 😀 "Nomore who said I want to work towards some fasting like 8:16

not you.

ilovecherries · 15/09/2017 23:09

. I didn't know it had a right way round, I tend to use interchangeably I think.

SerfTerf · 15/09/2017 23:19

Can I join please? I'm two weeks in and 7lbs down. The headache the first week lasted four or five days and was horrible.

The most motivational tool I've hit on is using keto urinalysis strips constantly. Is it mad to be doing this several times a day? Anyone else do the same?

prettybird · 16/09/2017 00:03

Welcome Smile

Most of us don't use the strips because so I believe if you are drinking enough water, they're not actually that reliable.

SerfTerf · 16/09/2017 00:45

Oh really? That's annoying Sad

TimeIhadaNameChange · 16/09/2017 00:54

I have a confession to make: for the first time in months I had some chocolate tonight. It was, however, the last chocolate from last year's Advent Calendar so I'm no feeling too bad. I might start on my Easter eggs at some point. Or I might be good and give them away,

StuntNun · 16/09/2017 07:05

I hope you got a good night's sleep C4 and you're ready to face the day. Stay on the moral high ground and rise above all the crap that's going on around you.

Montypulciano · 16/09/2017 07:43

Morning! Thanks for the new thread. Quietly keeping on here. Sending you all good wishes for the weekend

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 16/09/2017 07:48

C4 fuck me, I hope it all goes ok today! I can't believe your step kids, how selfish they are. They sound like terrible people.

SerfTerf welcome and congrats on the weightloss. I don't use keto sticks as I'm not following strict keto and like BIWI has said on previous threads, if you're drinking all the water you should be drinking, your urine should be so diluted that the keto strips don't work anyway.

Mimosa STOP WEIGHING EVERY DAY!!

Time if you enjoyed the chocolate, draw a line under it and move on. Don't eat the easter eggs just because they're there. Give them away to me Grin

I'm also finding 16:8 a lot easier. I have had a small something for breakfast a couple of days this week before doing buggyfit and a longish run and I've noticed no difference in my hunger for the rest of the day if I've skipped breakfast or not, so I may as well carry on skipping it!

Got no plans for food today, we'll see what happens.

OldBooks · 16/09/2017 08:04

Sad had the worst night with DD2 screaming and inconsolable from 1.30 till about 5.30 when I got her to nod off but only if I held her. My babies really suffer when teething Sad upshot is that I just want to EAT. Will have to exert a lot of self control today especially as DH is away till Monday and solo bedtimes are usually a nightmare that bring out all my emotional eating coping mechanisms. Must remember my power poses!!

GailLondon · 16/09/2017 08:13

Morning everyone! Really enjoyed my low carb sushi takeaway last night!
Off to parkrun now to get my exercise in for the day
Finished the week 2lbs down - happy with that!

Lenl · 16/09/2017 08:19

Sorry to hear that OldBooks. My 12 week old is a good sleeper compared to how my now 2 year old was, but my 2 year old still wakes more often than not and it's usually a big deal. Last night I just got the baby back to sleep at 4am and my 2 year old woke up screaming and would not calm down. He shut himself in the bathroom, in the dark, crying, but went mental if either of us tried to go in so we had to stand outside for a few minutes waiting for him to calm down and then he was still unhappy for awhile. Finally got back to sleep about 5. I feel your pain.

On the plus side I've been following this woe for exactly a month today! I've lost 11.2lbs and 2.5 inches off my waist. I haven't been this weight since around Jan 2013. I hope it continues, the loss has slowed from the start with lots of fluctuations during the week but is still going down.

Lenl · 16/09/2017 08:21

Just reread your post OldBooks... I don't quite feel your pain it seems - 1.30 - 5.30 is epic Sad

Can you have a lovely lchf treat? Something cheesey gooey creamy?

OldBooks · 16/09/2017 09:18

Oh Lenl does he get night terrors? DD1 gets them sometimes and it's just as you describe. She has no idea what she's doing and usually hides in a corner screaming at us. A doctor friend told us to splash water on her face to wake her up fully so she can calm down!

Yes I think a walk to the shop for some dark choc and double cream might be needed!

Mimosa1 · 16/09/2017 09:49

Oh Leni and Oldbooks, poor little mites and not easy for the kids either Grin wishing you an easy day today. CBeebies probably entirely justified today!

Hippalong, I know I shouldn't weigh daily but it was so satisfying initially! Knowing weeks 3 and 4 are famous for stalls is really good knowledge though as it's usually around the time I got discouraged in the past.

DH is somewhat hungover from a work party last night so we're going to a greasy spoon for breakfast w the kids. I'm looking forward to a full English without the bread or beans. Koko all.

Llareggub · 16/09/2017 09:52

I am at the stall stage. Do I need to do anything or just carry on?
