MOIST relax and enjoy the rest of your holiday.

C4 Great news about the holiday. Hope you are there now and all chilled out. The quilt is beautiful.

Grimbles · 13/09/2017 19:38

Evening all! Either I've hit a stall or any loss has been masked by pre-menstrual weight gain, sigh...

B. Bacon and mushrooms
L. Leftover chilli from last night
S. Pork Scratchings
D. Salmon cooked in herby butter with asparagus roasted in butter, rocket salad and aioli

Pretty sure I've hit at least 2l of water today, alongside 1 X creamy coffee and 3 normal coffees.

Speaking of drinks, what's the position on diet drinks, from what I can see they don't have any carbs?

ilovecherries · 13/09/2017 19:43

Well, today I aced a pitch for a contract :). I know being thinner doesn't make me smarter, but I did actually feel a whole lot more confident than I usually do when I was standing in the boardroom being charming :) :). Trying to decide how to celebrate now, given all my usual means of celebrating are off the table (no pun intended). I know - SHOPPING GrinGrinHalo

Can someone explain the difference in UK carbs and USA net carbs please?

I found in USA while here on holiday low carb tortillas with 6g net carbs BUT they have 19g carbs and 13g fibre.

Does this mean in UK terms it would be considered 19g in which case they are a definate no no but a possibility if it is only 6g?

Grimbles · 13/09/2017 20:02

Why are my understanding is that the murricans include dietary fibre in the carb figures on their labels, but it's listed separately on UK labels. So in your example the UK version would label it with 6g of carbs

Grimbles · 13/09/2017 20:03

Basically on UK labels the sums are already done for you!

Whyarethebestnamestaken · 13/09/2017 21:00

Thank you, it sounds like it may be ok then. I could make quesidallas or wraps etc.

wotabastard · 13/09/2017 22:01

@ilovecherries congrats on your pitch x

I'm in such a bad mood today! I have a big work day on Friday and don't want it to be a let down, trouble is I'm really letting it get to me. At least I'm somehow not resisting to stuffing my face with crap to deal with those feelings how I normally would! Maybe that's why I feel like such a cow, because I'm not medicating those stressful feelings with anything...hmmm. I'm on a journey folks! Grin

B: 1 bacon, 2 eggs, 1/2 avocado, mixed leaf salad, loadsa butter
L: smoked mackerel salad with lots of cucumber and leaves and other half of avo plus oily homemade dressing.
S: few raspberries and spoonful of greek yogurt
D: Heck chicken sausages, broccoli, butter, 2 tbsp gravy
creamy coffee

Also went on a killer hike with the buggy round the local park. It has some really steep hills that are excellent to push a pram up. It destroys my triceps, abs and legs! I could feel myself literally breathing out the fat I was burning. Grin

littlebillie · 13/09/2017 22:15

I sometimes need to have soup in winter at work. Any ideas and anything off the shelf?

Llareggub · 13/09/2017 22:38

Hmm, not sure if I should post this here or on general health. I am half way through my menstural cycle and started the low carb thing just before my period. I have just started bleeding. This is definitely unusual for me but wondered if it was linked to the diet? This has never happened to me before. I have lost 5kg since 22 August..m

starsky22 · 13/09/2017 22:43

billie congrats on BMI, great achievement! Star

ilove well done on the pitch!

I weighed this morning and I've lost the 2lbs I put on at the weekend, pleased to be back on track.

Today:
B fasting
L broccoli & ham soup
S pork scratchings
D meatballs, tomato sauce, spinach, mozzarella

starsky22 · 13/09/2017 22:50

Littlebillie probably best to make your own soup, so you know what's gone in it, but the lowest carb I've found is sainsburys fresh broccoli & Stilton soup which is 2.5g per 100g

littlebillie · 14/09/2017 06:38

Llare it's the weight loss and old hormones triggering it. We all had it last boot camp. It's soon passes but it's a sign it is working!

Starsky I'll try thanks that as a stop gap if I'm stuck at work.

hippadoppaloppagorillapig · 14/09/2017 06:41

littlebillie there's a couple of soup recipes on the bootcamp spreadsheet.

wot I do Buggyfit with ,y 2.5 year old DD and people don't really take it seriously, but it's so hard! It's definitely a good workout!

Food plan for today:
L - crunchy salad with tuna and guacamole
D - duck breasts with something, will check what veggies I have. I love a duck breast.

C4pinkwheels · 14/09/2017 06:55

On my way to the airport, bricking it because this is the first time flying on the ventilator.

DIL and precious Alfie back in hospital, PPH she's now having her second transfusion and is on antibiotics. I feel terrible for going away.

OldBooks · 14/09/2017 07:01

llaregub my cycle has been haywire since starting this woe. For me it's the only downside. A few people have had disruption and upset cycles which go away, I have been having 3-4 weeks of bleeding with a week or so off in between. But I have PCOS and my periods are fucked anyway.

TempusEejit · 14/09/2017 08:18

Safe journey C4 and best wishes to your DIL and Alfie.

Have a great day everyone!

FinallyHere · 14/09/2017 09:22

Safe journey, C4

littlebillie my mother taught me to make soup by frying an onion in a little butter (i use shallots now) then have a look in the 'fridge for what you have available. Chop it up, stir around in the butter just a bit, then pour in stock to cover and simmer til soft. I prefer single veg, celery is a particular favourite but anything goes. If you like smooth, liquidise the lot, chunky liquidise just a cupful to make it thicker. Add whatever herbs you like with the veg (tomato and basil, thyme and celeriac) .

Keep stock in the freezer, defrost and heat in microwave and have it hot ready in a few minutes.

Freeze portions of soup for a quick, easy low carb winter meal. Enjoy.

C4pinkwheels · 14/09/2017 09:59

Unfuckingbelievable!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

DH is a flapper and I'm a list maker, methodical and double check is my mantra.

All of my medication, catheters, morphine spare tubing for suction, barrier creams, splints etc etc

That is the bag he left at home - I have no words

Mimosa1 · 14/09/2017 10:29

Oh C4, nooooo!! Did you realise before you got on the flight? Hope you can still make it and DH is suitably contrite.

OldBooks · 14/09/2017 10:33

Oh no C4! Shock what are you going to do?

C4pinkwheels · 14/09/2017 10:55

Realised it was missing at check in desk.

Absolutely infuriating conversation with customer service. Can't provide oxygen on later flight as they need 24hrs notice. So we are trying to fly on the same day we are just asking if we can use the cylinder of oxygen on a later flight, it's the same plane ffs.
As for DH I can't even look at him, he keeps saying we left it at home when he was the only person able to move cases from bedroom to car.

NOMOREoatcakesandcheese · 14/09/2017 11:09

C4 oh bugger!!
