So far so lchf on holiday Grin amazing breakfast buffet with 3 kinds of eggs, loads of cheese, hams, salami etc. Last night had goats cheese and cauliflower.

C4, grah I am still in shock over the woosh. Feels great!

Ilove l used to fart for England. The lack now makes me suspect a wheat intolerance?

Anyway off to the spa Grin

I'm the queen of farts they've even slipped out loudly in public. A benefit of L carving is quiet ladylike farts

I've been a bit rushed these past few days and perhaps I've not made so much effort with my meals although I'm keeping to BC rules so this might be why I've a touch of the dreaded carb flu. I'll try to get back to normal today although we're going to a BBQ later on.

Morning!

Well it's seemingly my turn to feel crap. BIWI I would blame you for this cold, but since DP brgh germs back with him three weeks ago (and is still suffering) you're safe. Thought I was feeling rough last weekend but apparently not. Woke Wed night unable to breathe (sinuses, not asthms, for once) but got back to sleep. Same Thursday night, without the falling asleep part. Dragged myself up to town yesterday evening for Day And Night Nurse, but am still waiting for them to kick in. Am alternating between blocked sinsuses and non-stop sneezing. Not sure which is better. Took about 5 mins to gets out the bathroom yesterday as I'd wash hands after blowing my nose, sneeze whilst doing so, so have to blow my nose again. And repeat. Such fun!

As you can tell I'm feeling very sorry for myself. I don't do colds well at all. And I know I am being very pathetic compared to what some of you are going though. Sorry.

Am planning on eating a whole sachet of Knorr's Chicken Noodle soup for lunch, despite the 28g of carbs it contains. But it's the only thing I want, and, having skipped dinner last night I'm not too bothered. Plus, I'm home alone ATM so have to make whatever it is I'm going to eat, and I'm not sure I can cope with making a chicken soup from scratch. I am planning on having beef and mushrooms in cream tonight for dinner, so hopefully, on the whole, the day won't be too carbtastic.

Morning all!

Is it right that I don't feel much like eating? It's just gone 11am and all I've had is 2 cups of coffee with a dash of double cream and a couple of slices of meat.

Yesterday I didnt want that much either. For lunch I had a couple of chicken wings and later that night a dirty lamb doner (meat only) with mayo and could only eat about half of that too!

NameChange it is utterly crap having "just" a cold. Pretty much the most annoying thing as it's basic, common, and simply has to work itself out. Annoying!

Grimbles its fine and normal to have less of an appetite, but based on what you've written I would urge you to ensure you get fat and veg in whatever meals you have.

Right now it looks like this:

Breakfast - coffee with meat
Lunch - chicken meat
Dinner - meat and mayonnaise

Ahem. Wink

Going to make devilled eggs for dinner so have boiled the eggs and made a trial couple. Yum. DD highly approves as well so I am feeling happy with that!

I felt really irritable earlier around lunch time, though it was brief I wondered if it was carb related, but now I feel serene and on top of things. Grin

The first two days I wanted bread because it feels like necessary punctuation to a meal if that makes sense. I've not missed it today.

On day 5, I had lost 10lbs but felt bloated and reweighed and have gained 7lbs. Is this normal?

Bouncing up and down is for me and others. Tis most likely water as doubt you have over eaten 7 x 3500 calories for it to be fat.

Lily your carbs are okay but you need to get enough protein, I'd say at least 80g per day.

Hi All. Hope you are having lovely bank holiday weekends.

I'm arguing non stop with STBXH atm and he is being an arsehole. Also have rellies staying so its stress city all round for me. I ate half a pack of choc raisins last night. Suitably ashamed of myself. I didn't really want them or enjoy them but I felt like I needed to punish myself. I felt shit and made myself feel deliberately shittier by eating them. Before lchf I would have eaten them thinking i deserved them and for comfort. I'm now thinking i was actually not. It's odd. Like I keep thinking i dont deserve to be treated nicely (long history of marriage issues) and therefore I won't treat myself nicely. I have never really looked after my body before. oldbooks i think you helped me understand this is a way of self harming. When I saw you did this to yourself, I was just wanting to hug you and mend the hurt, as i cannot bear to see another human being suffering, and I've realised I've been doing it to myself with food. Bloody epiphanies . And i do understand what you said about needing that immediate release in the moment. Baking is more for longer term stress! I've never told anyone this before but in the past I have experienced moments of utter hopelessness and distress (at other peoples behaviour towards me, and when I say other people I mean STBXH) that I've just wanted to run and jump out of the window (4th floor balcony at the time). Not because I generally felt suicidal but just in that exact moment I didn't want to be there, didn't want to exist, couldn't cope with any more of my situation. The only way i could think to make it stop was to cease to be.

Phew. Where did that come from!

Anyway that is in the past. I am recognising loads of stuff about myself on this WOE. It's not about food at all. I am so much stronger than I was before. And lighter Grin. I love you bc lot here. You have made a massive difference to my life for the better. Its better than therapy.

Shit. I have stuff in my eyes ffs. Im on a bloody emotional rollercoaster right now. And i havent even had wine.

Sorry i forgot to say. For those having nasty colds, try taking an antihistamine. Different pollen around this time of year compared to spring or early summer. My hay fever is kicking off and it feels just like a cold.

My dear dietician friend got really worried about me when I confessed my food as punishment habits. She's known me for 25 years so it shouldn't have been that much of a surprise. I'm better these days since I worked out that's what I do. Even if I do still do it sometimes.

wotabastard I notice that everything I prepare or purchase specially to satisfy my cravings and conform to LCHF way of eating goes down an absolute fucking storm with every other member of my household. Angry

I thought about labelling my food with a big Naff Orf sign but decided to just prepare or purchase more of said items in the hopes they'll learn to prefer low carb, sugar free food.
