Couldn't help myself so did a sneaky weigh in and have lost 6lbs since bc started!

Think this could be a bit "artificially low" as I didn't actually eat much yesterday so it probably won't be quite as impressive on my official weigh in day but it looks good on the scales today for a morale boost!

Sneaky weigh in this morning as I still do WW too for the added motivation, but only a light version of tracking.

Anyway - and I know some of you will understand the importance of this - I AM (at 13st1) ONLY "OVERWEIGHT".

LCHF works.

Well done Wilf, what a milestone.

Fab Wilf! I dream of only being overweight. I will get there!

Feeling a bit 'meh' today. Had a sneaky weigh and hadn't really lost anything in last 3 days. I won't lose focus though.

Morning all.

I too had a sneaky weigh in -stayed the same, but not stressing as have 3 days to go till officiallly recording.

Met friends for breakfast and had scrambled eggs, smoked salmon and sliced avocado. Plus a skinny latte (not LC I know).

Finishing off the decorating today so probably no lunch (plus had a proper breakfast anyway)

Dinner: unknown as yet- usually a take away of sorts).

Water intake still low but getting there.

A little worried about the weekend which is when I tend to fall off the wagon but will see. Off to our local firework display which would normally end getting something from the chippy. Managed last week though, despite a Diwali carb laden feast. Halo

Is lunch mandatory?
I really hate breakfast, but have been making myself have something. But then I'm not hungry or really ready for food until about 4 or 5 pm.

In the first two weeks, yes it is - but it's a really good sign that you're not hungry! Just eat something small to keep your blood sugars stable

Does anyone have a good recipe for a chocolate mousse, for when BC Light rules apply?

Hoping I can do something with egg whites, cream and 85% or 90% chocolate then serving with creme fraiche to cut through richness?

Just not sure of quantities so if anyone has a tried and tested recipe it'd be great!

lisbapalea · 04/11/2016 15:08

just found this Delia recipe which I think could work if I leave out the sugar?

Aww shucks you guys Blush Grin

I quite often get a bit derailed at weekends but determined to stay with it. I also had a sneaky weigh in as I could feel I had lost some of my bloatedness and have dropped a pound or two. I have to point out that weighing too often can be very demotivating as there is more inclination to get into the 'stuff it' mentality and have a 'treat'. I have learned that this way of eating isn't always about the number on the scales. I have previously dropped a dress size whilst the scales only moved a couple of pounds.
KOKO Thanks

Struggling this evening, have been great with food all day, 2 eggs and butter for breakfast, chicken salad and Mayo for lunch and dinner has just been a big bowlful of beef stew. I'm craving something sweet badly tonight.

B - yogurts with cinnamon

L - chicken and bacon caesar salad (minus croutons)
D - smoked mackerel, courgetti, shallots and a few bits of pepper

Not enough water as I was out and about nowhere near a loo!!

I did do a sneaky weigh but still same as Monday - trying not to be down about it as I know if I KOKO I'll get there. Smile

Oh dear, got a bit derailed this evening. I blame the Ally Pally Fireworks Street Food village! Of many delightful but non-LC sounding foods on offer, I chose a stall called 'slow cooked traditional meats' which sounded the most LC of all but the queues were long so it was hard to see what was actually on offer. When I got to the front, the way it was served meant the meat would have been rather hard to eat without the bun it came with - so I caved and had the bun. Then I had a mocha...and a mulled wine in the pub afterwards. Blush Will have a strict weekend and hope not too much damage was done before Monday. I've been doing so well in resisting alcohol especially in all sorts of social situations, but once I made the decision to just have the bread, it was a slippery slope!

B: eggs, smoked salmon, avocado, salad
L: chicken and chorizo soup, cheese
D: slow cooked lamb with salsa verde in a bread roll, mocha, glass of mulled wine

Me too betty, was really good all day, not even hungry so making myself eat. Then I had a G&T and breadsticks. (They are for DD at school, so in the cupboard)

Anyway, I'm not too down about it. Lost loads of weight, I can tell by looking, and have been so healthy!

masses of water all day
B greek yog
L hard boiled egg, bit of cheese
D Salad of alfafa sprouts, tuna, cucumber, avocado and dressing

Gin and breadsticks Hmm

Brilliant, Wilf Flowers

I've had a bit of a mixed week, to be honest. Food has been mostly good, but Thursday was awful - a stressful travelling day, starting off by going to the wrong station to catch my train which meant that by the time I got to where I should have been, there was no time to buy anything LC to eat. (which I had all planned, as there's a Leon at the station I originally went to!). Client meeting over lunch - no food provided (not even a sandwich), then nothing on the train on the way back other than the usual crisps, chocolate and sandwich on the trolley. Had to rush from the station to an evening do (and industry thing), so ended up caving in and grabbing a sandwich to eat on the tube!

On the more positive side, the Sainsbury's Local just across the road from the office, has started selling Caulirice

Although the only ingredient is cauliflower, it does have a bit of an odd smell, but I've discovered that if you use a bit of curry sauce stirred through it, it's not too bad.

I've made a very passable curry in the microwave like this!

  • Cook the Caulirice first (this takes about 2 minutes, and is cooked in the packet)

  • cook 2-3 spring onions, chopped and (optional) half a chilli finely chopped, in a lump of butter on high for a couple of minutes

  • add a pack of cooked plain chicken chunks (Sainsbury have a good selection of their own brand or Bernard Matthews ones)

  • add a good dollop of a low carb curry sauce (I used the Sainsbury's Tikka Curry Paste, which is 9.2g per 100g, but used probably 50g)

  • cook for another couple of minutes, and then mix into the Caulirice

It makes a reasonably large portion; if you're hungry you could eat the whole thing, or have half of it with some salad or other veg.

Hello all, I fell off the thread. I've done well with food but have had a few glasses of wine so broke the rules. I can't tell if I have lost any weight as measuring with a tape measure seems to give a different reading every time. I wouldn't recommend it!

I resisted eating badly last night - ended up going to bed early with a pint of water. I did think at one point 'its Friday evening, i'm off to bed at 9pm just to avoid eating or drinking - there must be more to life than this' but hey ho, it worked.

Aldi have also selling caulirice with parsley, I have bought some to make with my steak for this evening. Also, they are selling small protein pots containing egg and spinach which may be useful for a quick snack. Their prepared salads have been revamped and their ham hock and egg salad is lovely. it does contain a very small amount of potato salad but the carb count is 4g/100g - the pack weight is 180g so not too bad overall. There is also a chicken salad but this contains a sweet chilli sauce - i ditch that and add mayo instead. They are only £1.69 each so worth checking out :)
