Morning all.

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness which looks a bit different this morning! All the tabs appear to be at the top now! No idea what's going on there.

I hope that week 3 hasn't been too unkind to you all, but if you have found that your weight loss has stopped, or even that you've put a pound or so back on, don't worry!

It's your body adjusting to the new regime. Just KOKO (keep on keeping on) and you'll be fine. Things will get moving again very soon, although be prepared for a lower weekly loss from here on in - around 1-2lbs a week, which is a perfect and more sustainable way to lose.

Here's to a good week 4!

todays mantra, more fat, more water.

I can taste ketones again, it went after a couple of days in the beginning but came back yesterday and I can smell/taste nail varnish remover everywhere I go now, its horrible. Packet of extra on the way in today may be in order.

Roomey hows your (ahem) regularity going? I am still getting nowehere and has resigned myself to taking dulcolax every weekend, I darent take it in the week.

blessedenough · 05/06/2015 09:27

Dita - I find BPCs have the opposite effect on me! I think its the coconut oil, I never have a problem with constipation!

Had a busy busy day yesterday and didn't get my dinner until 10pm. Usually I would have had to stop and eat carby rubbish but on this woe I just koko and waited until I got home. I did pounce on a big bowl of mince with cheese and spinach when I got in however.

House selling misery here and I managed not to drown my sorrows in wine and junk - very pleased with myself. Still hate all estate agents and our supposed buyer. Gits.

Tetley650 · 05/06/2015 11:41

Blessed - you are lucky to get a whiff of a buyer. Having to do housework just in case get a call that there will be viewing tomorrow! However my 3 hounds make it difficult shedding hair and of course the obligatory dirty paws on the clean floor. Hope we all enjoyed the British Summer!
I'm on a Lchf page on FB and think going to get some cream cheese to make pancakes to go with my breakfast tomorrow.
B cheese and watercress mug muffin ( 2 tbsp coconut flour, grated cheese, chopped watercress, 1/4 cup of cream/water, 1/4 tsp baking powder, 1 egg) all mixed together in a mug and nuked for 2 mins 40 on high.) avocado and butter, box
L - egg and mushrooms in butter
D - chilli and lettuce wraps with guacamole
Water. Now getting through the literage without waking up in the night. Result

Tetley650 · 05/06/2015 11:50

No I didn't eat a box! I had a bpc- hate predictive text that appears ok then changes its mind as it sends

diggerdigsdogs · 05/06/2015 13:51

Grin at eating a box

B: yogurt, berries, cream, coconut oil, almond milk and chia whizzed up in the blender
Missed lunch as we were out an nothing suitable. It was just bad timing - we were supposed to get home for lunchbefore I went to get dsd but traffic was so awful that I couldn't. 5 hours in the car instead of 45 1.5!
D: chicken with skin and caulslaw.
Not enough water again. I need to take a bottle out with me.

Romeyroo · 05/06/2015 14:56

Dita, Blush it is a work in progress.

I am on day three of the prune and flaxseed muffin plan and they are improving matters - but without going into detail, still not quite as much as a laxative would. I need to modify the recipe, I think - I am reflecting on what other natural helping things might work without tasting odd or adding carbs.

I have three left from the first batch, though, so I need to monitor a few more days - weight is up a pound, but it is TOTM - but if the muffins are going to cause weight gain, I am back to square one. Mind you, not being able to go causes weight gain and is uncomfortable, and I have a bad history with laxatives, so that is a route I am trying to avoid. I want something which works with the WOE.

(I can't say I ever thought I would be trying to make 'regularity' muffins...)

CobbOnn · 05/06/2015 16:54

Remind me pls, what is the carb protein fat ratio to aim for?just starting on my fitness pal.

Gcalgske · 05/06/2015 17:41

I'm still feeling dodgy :(
Sinus infection again and on the antibiotics. Today I've had a coffee with cream, some cold ham, cucumber and 1/2 an avocado. Feel sick at the prospect of eating dinner.

LexLoofah · 05/06/2015 18:35

Gcal sinuses are a bugger aren't they? My left ear is completely blocked due to them, feels like I am underwater, just want to stab myself in the head to release the pressure. Spent last night huddled over a bowl of hot water and olbas oil to no avail. Hope you improve soon Flowers

B - ff greek yog, cream, 4 blackberries, a few walnuts [BC lite y'all]
L - thick slice of roast beef from deli down the road, rocket, hm mayo & mustard
D - no idea DH is cooking, think it is going to involve prawns

have a good weekend everyone

Hissy · 05/06/2015 19:23

I have a new method of food control...

Infected blooming finger, can't use a knife very well at all... Flaming hurts, anyone know how long until the antibiotics kick in?

B: omelette with ham, black coffee
L: salamis, olives and lettuce
D: salmon fillet, leaves, Mayo, cucumber, remainder of tuna mayonnaise

Water is well down due to meeting and leaving early for docs, but I'll try and chug a few pints down over the evening.

Does totm affect our weigh in? I've lost bugger all in the last few days despite being really strict with myself. Where is that whoosh fairy when you need her? Smile

BIWI · 05/06/2015 20:09

Romey are you eating enough fat and drinking enough water? I'm worried that by introducing those muffins you're introducing things that are going to impede your weight. You shouldn't need to be resorting to laxatives at all, if you're eating

  • enough fat
  • enough veg
  • and drinking enough water

Have you tried to do any exercise? Yoga stuff or simply doing sit ups/twisting at the core can all help.

OP posts:
BIWI · 05/06/2015 20:10

Hissy yes, TOTM can have a definite effect on your weight. It's a really good idea to up your water, so if you're already not drinking enough, this can be an issue

OP posts:
BIWI · 05/06/2015 20:11

CobbOnn - we don't have a particular ratio to aim for. Just follow Bootcamp rules and you'll be fine!

The whole point of Bootcamp is that it should be easy to follow, so that you don't have to weigh or measure anything.

OP posts:
Gcalgske · 05/06/2015 20:29

Lex sorry you are feeling grotty too!
Have you tried the Neil med sinus rinse? That and a sinus drainage exercise my osteopath told me about are keeping me sane but I think the antibiotics making me feel the ick.
Get better soon.
Had some peppers with lardons and mozzarella. Was nice but nauseating. Ahhhh!

Romeyroo · 05/06/2015 21:02

Hi Biwi,

I am definitely drinking enough water and eating enough green veg - because of IBS I am struggling with variety so usually spinach and/or courgettes but it is there at every meal.

Fat - not so sure, coconut oil, mayonnaise, fat on or in meat, cheese, all of these daily and in each meal.

The 'regularity' issue has been going on for a while, since Jan BC when I stopped using flaxseeds to break a stall ; I am literally trying everything to see what happens because it is such a pain in the proverbial, literally. I am really pleased with my weight loss so far, but I need to solve this problem.

I will keep my baking experiments off thread though, if it is not strictly BC. I would love for this not to be an issue but it is. I am doing colonic massage but will try some simple abdomen exercises.

StuntNun · 05/06/2015 21:20

Cobb I aim for 70-75% fat, 20-25% protein, 5-10% carbs but, as BIWI says, the Bootcamp rules do the work for you.

monkeyfacegrace · 05/06/2015 21:20

Hey team.

I'm on a proper mission.

B: chicken breast
L: iceberg lettuce, olive oil, ceaser dressing, grated cheese and half roast chicken (skin on)
D: 3 eggs with courgette and spinach fried in butter with more cheese
Snacks: half bag of pork crunch and bowl of whipped cream

A gazillion gallons of water (well about 3l!)

Yet again, only 2 pepsi max's and again NO WINE! I've now been dry for almost a week? I think? That's virtually unheard of for me.

I've also power walked 5 miles pushing a buggy, and done day one of the 30 day shred dvd.

Scales aren't budging Angry but I feel slimmer and my willpower is at its peak.

I have a holiday in 6 weeks and I WILL LOSE 10LB BY THEN.

Gcalgske · 05/06/2015 21:32

Romey have they investigated your IBS properly? My sister has ulcerative colitis and she was misdiagnosed and fobbed off for ages (years - as are countless others she tells me from her crohns/colitis support groups) might be worth following up with the Drs if they've not looked too hard. If diet wise you are doing everything you can (avoiding inflammatory foods/ enough water etc) you might need something else. X

BIWI · 05/06/2015 21:35

Romey - I know you have IBS issues, so appreciate the issue with variety of veg. But you can still have lots of the same veg!

Are you constipated in the sense that it's painful, or is it just a regularity issue? Lots of low carbers find that they're not going as often. It's only if you're having problems going, or you're in pain, that you need to worry.

Seriously - up your fat and your water. Try and do a bit more exercise.

Other things that other people have reported that have helped include more caffeine (a strong coffee first thing), or high strength vitamin C. And, from a personal perspective, if you're really struggling, some Thorntons sugar-free toffee. Just go easy with it and don't eat the whole packet Blush

Hi all,

Checking in after a few days of absence. All good with me, still on the wagon despite my weird blip on Tuesday! Can't remember when I last posted so here's thurs and fri, food wise. I think I am doing ok, although clearly straying into boot camp light a fair bit:

Thursday
B - coyo and Greek ff you with some berries and coconut
L - Brie, blue cheese, salami, walnut, cucumber and spinach salad. Oily dressing
D - aubergine, courgette, yellow pepper and mozzarella parmigiana thing. The tomato sauce was made with basics tomatoes (I.e. Lower carb ones) and shallots instead of onion. Ate that with spinach salad, lots of dressing.

Fri
B - 2 scrambled eggs on top of a large mushroom roasted with butter
L - leftover aubergine thing
D - homemade meatballs with creamy version of yesterday's tomato sauce, with courgetti and Parmesan. Amazing!
S - some 85% choc and red wine.

Staying at my parents tonight and am a bit nervous about tomorrow's breakfast options, but I did spy some eggs so prob will have something along those lines. Planning a picnic with mum and the dds tomorrow lunchtime (dh is away on a boys weekend), but I have told mum I will pick up some food so that should be fine.

Going to a christening and party on Sunday so really hope food will work ok, am desperate to be in the 12st ballpark on Monday, even if it is 12st 13lb!!

trashcanjunkie · 06/06/2015 00:29

Oh god I'd kill to be there! I was exactly twelve st thirteen about three years ago, and I'm bloody determined to get back there. I'm rooting for you lisb

Patapouf · 06/06/2015 07:03

Yesterday was a weird day, accompanied someone to a&e so I didn't em anything all day apart from a handful of strawberries in the morning. Left for holiday yesterday evening at dinner time so ended up with a chicken aioli salad from Leon at the airport and just picked around the quinoa and peas!
My appetite has been reduced to next to nothing this last week and I only notice I've skipped meals/feel hungry when I feel faint. Should be able to get into a holiday schedule and regularise meal times this week.

No breakfast as of yet, time zone and long flight have meant it's closer to lunchtime. Hopefully there will be some suitable Lc options!

Romeyroo · 06/06/2015 07:24

Aargh, sorry, I really don't want to clog the thread with my issues again.

It seems that prunes trigger hives anyway, this is a reaction I get to pollen and some fruits - including stoned fruits which would include prunes - and it has become increasingly noticeable over the last day or two.

How much veg is lots of vegConfused? It is the bulk of what I eat I think but will monitor. Ditto fat, water & exercise.

gcalske, I was hospitalised when I was pregnant with DD twice as I was in so much pain so they did various tests then (including a laparoscopy as they thought it was an ectopic pregnancy); I have since had pelvic scans because of pain, allergy tests and tests for coeliac disease. I don't think ulcerative colitis has ever been mentioned. Mostly, I manage it, whatever it is, through diet and that helps. IBS is the diagnosis I was given.

I am feeling very tired and defeated. I am going to make some super spinachful egg muffins with coconut cream and stop whinging, take myself out with DC, drink lots of water and super strong coffee. I have wanted to buy myself a stove top coffee pot for ages so here is my excuse Smile

Romeyroo · 06/06/2015 07:28

pata, hope you have a lovely holiday Smile

lisb, eggs and selected picnic food sounds fine. Rooting for you on the weigh in as well.

Have a lovely weekend everyone and KOKOFlowers

ditavonteesed · 06/06/2015 07:35

pata have a great holiday :)

Roomey you are definatly not whinging, and sorry it was me that brought t up. Sounds awful and painful.

Last night I was really stressed, had a weird day at uni studying bereavement followed by a nice cheerful trip to the morgue, I really fancied wine but didnt sucumb and so glad I had my usual pot of camomile tea as I get such awful hangivers after very little wine these days so I dont have that to fight with today.

I have a slight problem with my runnign at the moment, I did 5k on weds which I was really proud of, in 37mins, however it has since turned hot and there is no way on this planet I can run in heat, I do not handle heat or sun very well at all (little ginger pasty lady over here). So I may have to find another form of excercise while it cools down againn. I do have several Jillian Micheals dvd's sat on the shelf I guess they could be dusted off but I'm scared.

People have started to nitice my weightloss which is lovely. I have some clothes that my mum gave me in a 14 so i think they may be noticing that I am wearing a whole new wardrobe rather than my actual shape but it feels nice.
