Week 2 - May Low Carb Bootcamp - our first official weigh-in!

Morning all!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness

And don't forget the the Weight Tracker (I hope that link works but apologies if it doesn't!)

So we come to our first weigh-in. I know from last week's thread that results are going to be a bit mixed - but I hope that most of you will see a good loss.

If you haven't, don't panic! Sometimes it can take a bit of time for your body to trust you, especially if you're a bit of a serial dieter.

If you think you've been doing everything according to the rules, but still haven't seen a loss, then list out for me your meals over the last 3 or 4 days and let me see if I can spot anything obvious.

But whatever the results are today, please remember it's not a competition!

We all lose weight at different rates. And someone who sees a big loss in one week isn't going to see that every week.

And remember - it's not all about what the scales tell you. You'll find that your body shape can change even if the scales remain unchanged!

Good luck to you all.

Eek I have a family wedding to go to in 12 weeks. Time to get serious about my diet and exercise.

Kleptronic · 20/05/2015 10:11

Eat MORE you say!? I cannot get my scone round this WOE. I still have it in me to stick to 1200 cals.

Ok I'm on it Grin

WineCheeseSleep · 20/05/2015 10:16

Lex - thanks for the tip, that worked for me on my android phone.

I lost 3 pounds, hurray! Absolutely loving this WOE too, occasionally catch myself feeling guilty at the end of a meal that I have eaten so "naughtily" - I know it isn't but years of trying various low fat diets has ingrained it into me somewhat!

DramaAlpaca · 20/05/2015 10:24

Another 1lb off this morning Shock!

CrabbyTheCrabster · 20/05/2015 10:44

Suzy sorry to hear about your FIL. Flowers
Preminstrel Wishing your mum a speedy recovery.

I am Smile this morning. Just measured and since 29th April when started low carbing again (and going to the gym), have lost 5cm round my navel, 2.5cm from my hips, 2cm from my bum and 1cm from thighs, fat bit above knees and calves. Oh and 2cm from my bingo wings upper arms. Have lost 5.4lbs too. Smile

Patapouf · 20/05/2015 10:52

I avoid it like the plague, having IBS means I can go from one extreme to the other and Senokot has played a painful part in that in the past!

Since I've starting LCing I've found that I've got it under pretty good control, although I do think I need to have a tiny bit of flax everyday.

dillite · 20/05/2015 11:08

Checking in for today:

Breakfast- scrambled eggs with smoked mackerel and cucumber
Lunch- celery soup from yesterday
Dinner- coconut oil roast chicken served with spinach salad, cucumber, radish and drizzled with olive oil and a bit of lemon juice

HemanOrSheRa · 20/05/2015 11:12

I added my weight on Monday using google sheets. It's showing up when I open the spreadsheet using the sheets app but no one elses weight is showing. When I look at it via the internet option everyone elses weight is showing but not mine Confused. I have no idea how to sort this out.

Things aren't going well here. I am still feeling ill with a stomach bug and barely eating at all. If I do all I can manage is dry toast Sad. DS threw up on the living room floor this morning. Happy days.

HemanOrSheRa · 20/05/2015 11:17

Ignore me! I've just done it again and I think I've added my weight this time.

DramaAlpaca · 20/05/2015 11:39

Hope you & your DS are feeling better soon Heman Flowers

Patapouf · 20/05/2015 11:50

I don't have a gmail account so it looks like I won't be using the Google sheets app!

Gcalgske · 20/05/2015 11:59

Today:
B. BPC, 2 Slices belly pork rubbed with chilli powder.
L. Chicken mayo and veg left over from yesterday
D. Beef chilli in the slow cooker.

dillite · 20/05/2015 12:47

Fucking hell. Just bought a pute protein bar and it turns out it's 36g carbs! FML!

Romeyroo · 20/05/2015 12:53

Oh no, Heman; DS was ill last week here, I ended up having to just throw the sheets in the bin. I hope that you both feel better soon.

'tis all too much for me today. I really need the May holiday, or scratch that, the summer holidays. I need to get through an afternoon of meetings. It is the ex again; but this time being super reasonable which has just messed with my head, I am so tired.

And having given all my poo advice, do you reckon I can go at all??? I need some special Brew

Preminstreltension · 20/05/2015 13:07

Thanks for all good wishes. Mum is at home now but still not right - it's a heart problem. She's never been healthy - or fit - and it's really telling now. She told me yesterday to make sure I stay fit for the children Sad

Yesterday was tough - I was tired and tearful all day and I really was looking forward to the last of the moussaka I made at the weekend. But when I got home from work I found that the nanny had given it to the children and they don't even like it Shock. I toyed with devouring a ready made macaroni cheese - I just needed a comfort food. Or a glass of wine. I'm really not a drinker but this whole situation is so hard and that would actually have helped. But I didn't! I cobbled together some egg mayo and some ham. Not the best meal ever but didn't fall off the wagon either.

Hope all the poorly people are on the mend again soon.

Patapouf · 20/05/2015 13:12

Flowers preminstrel, well done for staying on track too!

ThumbWitchesAbroad · 20/05/2015 14:16

Checking in - I'm having a bit of a tough time sticking to the rules; ok with meals etc. but drinking alcohol of an evening, which I know is not allowed on Strict Boot Camp.

Will weigh in in the morning (I was already 2 days late starting last week, so it's about right)

Gcalgske · 20/05/2015 14:52

Oh preminstrel hugs, that sounds tough. Flowers

LexLoofah · 20/05/2015 15:05

Pata I don't have a gmail account either, just try signing in with your regular email account, mine is an outlook one and worked OK - let me know how you get on. I am no tech whiz but sure between us and google we can sort it out as easier for Sayra if we can do it ourselves esp as she has a new job whoo hoo!

Where is Babsunited? Wasn't she was the tech savvy one on the inbetween thread?

Been looking at the new MN jobs site, jeez they are 99% tech as in web developers, oracle, sharepoint and other tech and data stuff I have never even heard of - makes me feel old and obsolete

Patapouf · 20/05/2015 15:49

I had to make an account using my existing address. How on earth do I open the BC spreadsheet in the app though?

LexLoofah · 20/05/2015 15:57

pata for me in the app it was listed as a doc and I just clicked on it

try clicking this link first then go to the app and see if it is listed

I don't have my ipad with me at the moment, will need to try and do a screen shot tonight if you are still not in

ditavonteesed · 20/05/2015 16:03

well that wasnt a fun afternoon, I wont share the details but I fainted at home luckily and I am now feeling very sorry for myself. Feel like comfort eating ut I am not going too.

trashcanjunkie · 20/05/2015 16:24

best I got it from a really posh little corner shop near us. Have found same stuff on amazon drink of wonder

TMI ALERT dita I was horrifically constipated after being in hospital last year and mainlining morphine. After a full week of not shitting I had an enema (on my fucking birthday!) in hospital which helped. After I went home I got bunged up again (morphine again) and send dp out to the pharmacy. He came home with a packet of mini enemas which really really did the trcik (I think I had eight in one go) but really other less serious measures are, more water, physillium husks and more water. Oh and did I mention the water....

crabby that's brilliant, atta girl. Am impressed with your measuring. I always forget.

romey my sympathies. Best of luck. Even when reasonable, still a cunt imo.

preminstrel I would possibly have sacked the poor woman on the spot (regretting it later obvs) well, well done for sticking it out. I managed to cling on to bc last year when my bloody troublesome dc1 who's 18, was given half of a 'chelsea smile' whilst off his head on something Hmm (fortunately he was really lucky and the twenty five stitches inside and out of his mouth have left a very small scar)

The thing was, it really helped me to stay strong after things had settled down too. I felt that if I'd managed to keep on through all of that trauma, then I could easily manage xyz.

Mind you, I would still just rather it hadn't bloody happened! But the support thread really came through for me, and you must feel free to post here anything that is affecting you emotionally, because whilst it may not feel 'bc related' it actually totally is.

Oh dear dita how rotten for you. Are you being looked after?

Am halfway through a very busy week here. Walked eight dogs every day this week, did volunteering at a toddler group yesterday morning, then a really intense group for asylum seekers/refugees early evening and feel shattered. Have to go to an art opening tonight because I'm in one of the film installations (did it for the money Grin) and then we are going to see Jaya The Cat (a band) at a little club venue tonight. Dp got the tickets ages ago. We are eating out, but I am fully in the zone, so no booze, and on piste food. Don't give a shit if they think I'm awkward, so there! Grin

ds2 said today I looked suddenly thinner... I was utterly chuffed with that. i had a sneaky weigh in this morning and am another lb down. Yippee!

ditavonteesed · 20/05/2015 16:28

I am not, I darent tell dh as he will see it as a reason to tell me to stop with this woe. Will be fine now though, going to curl up on the sofa and watch buffy as dc's at my mums for tea.

LexLoofah · 20/05/2015 16:38

dita sorry to hear that, glad you are resting now, hopefully a one off.

trash I am ordering that coco tea, looks lovely. Realized yesterday that the Yogi Chai I am enjoying so much as stevia leaf listed as an ingredient but can't tell how it relates percentage wise to the rest of the ingredients i.e. if it is the main one or the last one as not listed that way. Anyway hoping it is small enough to slip through the net and will limit to one a day. If I don't lose next week it will be the first thing to go. Good on you for staying strong with the no dairy and glad it is paying off.
