Welcome everyone!

Here's the Spreadsheet of Fabulousness that the lovely Sayra creates and cares for. Come and confess all.

If you prefer, you can use the individual Weight Tracker, provided by MNHQ, which will open (I hope) tomorrow morning.

Please make sure that you know the rules, and that you know about the allowed veg - look at the tabs at the bottom of the spreadsheet - and think about printing them off so that you have them to hand

If you have any questions, obviously you can ask them here, but there's also a specific questions thread because the chat threads can move so quickly that questions can get missed.

Unfortunately I'm working pretty full on for the next three days, so won't be around very much - I'll try and check in as much as I can, but in reality I'm not going to be around very much until Thursday - apologies in advance.

Very good luck to you all

happycamper as far as I remember the little pots in lidl were Greek yoghurt with added cream where as the big bucket is just the yoghurt.

Patapouf · 16/05/2015 22:52

B: avocado, mozzarella & lettuce. Missed the balsamic but made up for it will olive oil
L: roast chicken breast (skin on) with swede, spring greens and 1 clove of roast garlic
D: not v. Hungry so had a bowl of egg mayo with watercress

Had some cucumber sticks dipped in Boursin late afternoon. 2l of water so far, so need to down a load before bed. I have had about a litre of rooibos today too though.

Gcalgske · 16/05/2015 22:55

happycamper try not to get down about the pie, I make similar for me and my family. If you make it with the mince/courgette/shallot/leek and cook on the hob then dish yours into the little oven dishes and add frozen peas/sweet corn/finely chopped carrot into the pies for the carbivores those veggies cook in the mince sauce really quickly (frozen peas/corn just need warmed through really).

Gcalgske · 16/05/2015 22:57

trash I love Tom Hardy! Grin

CrabbyTheCrabster · 16/05/2015 23:02

THC use shallots instead of onion, keep it to one carrot per recipe (ie whole dish) and leave out the peas and sweetcorn - easy peasy

LexLoofah · 16/05/2015 23:35

Tetley thanks, I actually like living in a decluttered house but it does not fit with the kids very well plus we haven't told them we are moving yet so need to do it on the sly, they keep wondering why I have put their toothbrushes away in the cupboard! Hope your viewing goes well, we are selling ourselves as agents fees here (outside the UK) are extortionate, I can do the showing around bit, just not great at the horse trading - talking money bit. Had a really cheeky offer and need to craft an email to tell the guy he won't be living on our road anytime soon.

trash sooo jealous, cannot wait to see Fury Road, glad to hear it is ace

Got my swim in amongst stopping to play mermaids with DD, night all

readyforno2 · 16/05/2015 23:35

That's what I do crabby, sometimes use leeks if I've run out of shallots.

Food
B - got up late and had to take ds1 to his footy tournament
L - more bad planning Confused footy went on longer than I had expected, had to nip into the coop and grab a tray of roast chicken
S - when I finally got home.. Mushrooms fried in butter with double cream
D - roast chicken with loads of broccoli, ff yog and cream

About 3/4 l water although I have been thirsty, maybe I should get this checked?

trashcanjunkie · 16/05/2015 23:36

Yes, gcal was panting at the screen Blush

Morning all. Busy busy week, largely due to the extra energy I've got :) The main reason I follow this WOE (apart from losing weight of course) is because I love the feeling of being in control of what I eat. I eat carbs - I stuff my face and get completely out of control. I eat carbs - I seem to spend most of they day hungry and working out what to eat next. I don't eat carbs - I have my breakfast, then lunch at lunchtime, then dinner in the evening (with maybe some cheese or butter or ham) while I'm cooking). For me that's revolutionary, to not need to snack at all throughout the day.

So why then did I succumb to a Costco cookie at break time on Friday? Half a term I've been at my new school and I haven't eaten any of the copious biscuits, cakes etc from the staffroom table. Then, because I'd had the cookie I had left over apple crumble at lunchtime and then sweets and cake and biscuits after school. I scared myself with how much crap I managed to stuff in my face in a very small space of time. Straight back on strict BC and mainlining water now. I really, really don't want to go back to scarfing crap at every opportunity - I'm taking it as a reminder of what will happen if I weaken again.

A good friend at work has said in the past that she's envious of how I can control myself and not pick at all the crap on the table, and on Friday she commented that she was surprised to see me eating cake and sweets as she'd never seen it before. Which just shows the power of BC because in previous schools I was known for being the person who'd tidy up any biscuits, cake crumbs etc left lying around - previous colleagues wouldn't recognise me now!

I had a small gin and tonic yesterday- this giving me the worst hangover ever (!) so much so I had to have paracetamol this morning. There wasn't anything apart from that on the table that was carby:)

B- omelette with bacon and Brie

Don't know about lunch and dinner yet, although it will involve a roasted something.

I am drinking lots of water to negate the g&t.

justonemorethread · 17/05/2015 09:02

Finally, I'm back home after a horrible week visiting my poor mum. I had to write off the first week of bootcamp, not staying in my own house with too much going on to organise low carb shopping while staying with high-carb Italian parents!

Anyway, starting again from this moment onwards, hoping I will be very strict and disciplined.

Toomuch I agree with you about the benefits of this woe, but also about how we so easily slip in to bad ways again, I suppose it's not great if you have an all or nothing kind of personality, which I do a bit. Last week once I cracked and had my first pastry that was it and I proceeded to eat pizza, sandwiches etc… for the rest of the week.

I am however looking forward to getting back on track as I had not realised how chronically bloated I was all the time. I also always had this snotty feeling at the back of my nose that felt like a chronic low level cold and that went away when I was low carbing so looking forward to starting again!

BIWI · 17/05/2015 09:25

Morning all.

Maryz I'm very impressed!

justone sorry to hear about your week. But sometimes other things do get in the way of our best efforts; if this is to become a true WOE then you just need to allow that it's happened, and put it behind you. There will always be occasions or situations where we can't eat what we want, and there's absolutely no point beating ourselves up about it. Yes, it might delay the weight loss by a week, but it's only a week!

trashcan I went to see mad max last night as well, was brilliant wasnt it.?

I have been really good this week and managed not to eat anything naughty through my brithday which I reckon means I can do it through anything.

I have however not lost much, I think it was my period that threw it, I was losing a pound a day last week then my period came and most of it went back on. Is that normal? I am still 4lbs down in a fortnight which is more than I have managed with any other diet or woe ever.

AuntieMaggie · 17/05/2015 09:29

I've lost 6lbs since Monday so almost a stone in the last 3 weeks although I haven't really been following the 3 meal a day or drinking enough water rules as I've been ill since Weds and baby has been ill too. But I've resisted carbs which is an achievement.

I've not yet put my starting weight on the sheet but will when I can get on the laptop.

I've been making a quiche thing adapted from this James Martin recipe obviously leaving out the pastry and putting in whatever veg I fancy and it is lush! And the baby loves it too!

BIWI · 17/05/2015 09:32

diva - yes, it's not uncommon for your period to completely muck things up with the weight loss! Drink more water - often it can be about water retention, the cure for which is more water consumption (even if that seems counter-intuitive!)

ewanhoozami · 17/05/2015 09:32

toomuch you broke the Fuck It Seal. I empathise. I've been known to have the most minor of transgressions (which one solitary staff room biscuit really is) and unleashed the queue of carby badness in my kitchen / corner shop that have been waiting in my head for attention. Because I'd broken the seal, I might as well.

Then a wise person on here said "if you punctured one of your car tyres would you burst the rest?"

And now biscuits taste like car tyres

(not really but you know what I mean Grin )

ditavonteesed I can easily put on 5 lb of water weight during my period so hopefully if you drink plenty of water and stick to this it will easily come off

AuntieMaggie · 17/05/2015 09:38

One thing I noticed when I did this woe before was that my sugar and carb cravings were very closely linked - if I had something sugary I then craved carbs like bread etc and vice versa

ditavonteesed · 17/05/2015 09:39

thats good to hear, I am loving this woe anyway. less bloating and more energy whats not to love.

I am back at uni next week so going to need to be very organised and resist the constant subways, greggs and falafel that all my cohort go for. Also what sort of effect does excercise have with this woe? I know it should help, been c25king and a bit of lifting.

blessedenough · 17/05/2015 09:41

Hi all i have been koko, i am a couple of pounds down from the start of this week and now only 1 st from my wedding weight - still huge mind!!

I have been messing about for the last couple of months gaining and losing the same few pounds but feeling that i have it back under control now and i am looking forwards to mondays weigh in - i even managed to talk myself out of wine last night - BIWI i have been LC-ING since Jan so not in bootcamp phase although following the rules with the exception of a glass of red!

Sass - thanks for the link to the million things to do with cauliflower. Friday i made the cheesy breadsticks - lovely (not amazing) and then sat i turned the rest into as pizza for lunch - amazing. I had really missed pizza and it was like a slightly soggy pizza base but so flavourful and filling. I will cook it longer next time.

Very filling (due to the fact it is 50% cheese) and i had the equivalent for 1/4 of a normal pizza - with carby pizza i could easily eat a whole one (that will be the reason i am fat then!!). I made a little pizza sauce with roasted toms and a few sundried toms blitzed up - only used a tablespoon, then piled on pepperoni slices and parmesan and popped in oven for 10 mins. Even kids the liked it. Good for friday nights. Thank you

Hissy · 17/05/2015 09:46

Morning,

Yesterday was not bad

b: bacon and scrambled egg with cream
L: didn't really have time, so had boiled eggs with Philly, pork scratching so
D: meat burgers with celeriac oven chips... Beyond heaven! Coconut yog with coconut cream and double cream

I'm only a couple of pounds down I think, which is a little disappointing, but it's a start... I feel better, heartburn/indigestion are MUCH better, and I feel fine. Do confess to waking up at 4am with what felt like a hangover/labyrinthitus, so go up, took medicine, paracetamol and drank some water .

Sluggish weight shifting may be due to not enough water, I'm not measuring it enough I think, drink 1l in the morning and drink water throughout the day and it may be that I need closer to 3l than 2l.

This is the hardest bit of Low Carbing for me! Bit more focus and taking time to bulk up on water (and the inevitable outlet of it before I have to leave the house) and I should be able to increase it. From memory, when you get into the habit of drinking lots of water, the body expects it and reminds you that you need it.

Tetley650 · 17/05/2015 09:53

Some of the + lbs are coming off!!! Don't think all will be gone by tomorrow but on the inside my head plus side I haven't thrown the towel in and gone on a carb binge. Going to keep off dairy next week and hopefully be on a losing trend.
B egg and sausage
L roasted chicken thigh swede asparagus and black kale all liberally buttered
D chicken tomyum soup with coconut cream bok choy spinach and cauliflower rice (coconut oil fried). Possibly a coyo yoghurt for pud if still hungry.

Has anyone had a go at making an unsweetened ice cream with coconut milk/cream? Might give it a go later and then consider adding fruit later in the summer if prototype works!!
