Caravan on driveway

kelpie35 · 02/08/2021 16:56

I have just returned home to find a caravan parked on my driveway.
I have been away for 5 days visiting my son.
Can someone advise me what I can do to get it removed. I have no idea who it belongs to.

I wouldn’t bother with the hassle of knocking on neighbours doors as it could be anyone!
I’d put a message on the local Facebook site with a photo of the caravan asking who’s it is and they need to remove it ASAP!

WindowsSmindows · 02/08/2021 19:37

Sixes and eights
So there whole point of your story is that somebody parked for a few minutes on your drive so they could have a quick chat with your neighbour?
Why were you such an unreasonable neighbour?
We're you not embarrassed?
Jesus it's great to have lovely normal friendly neighbours who might wave at me if they saw me grabbing a chat with a friend.

@Needapoodle

As IF any of you would actually sell it. Yeah fucking right.
I did actually sell a car that was left on my drive - I sold it for spares and repairs. It sold in just over 3 hours and the shel was scrapped. 5 weeks later, yes 5 weeks later a guy knocked and asked about it. I told him no car had ever been left on my drive. At the time I didn't drive. ( I waited 4 days and tried to find the owner) this was early 2000.

I imagine it's some sort of mistake. I would ask around, see if someone was expecting a caravan delivery

Cerebelle · 02/08/2021 20:14

Sadly selling and denying all knowledge would be harder these days with lots of people having home cctv and smartphone records.

Antwerpen · 02/08/2021 20:16

Entered any competitions to win a caravan lately OP? Grin

LongTimeMammaBear · 02/08/2021 20:43

Is it unlocked? Can you move in? Or offer some friend a visit?

Greenrubber · 02/08/2021 20:47

So cheeky

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 02/08/2021 20:52

I suspect it has been dumped. I occasionally see caravans abandoned in lay-bys.
I'm not sure that the secondhand market for caravans is very good unless it less than three years old.

Tambora · 02/08/2021 20:55

If it is still there in the morning, find someone with a camera drone, and have a look on the roof for any identifying marks.

Agree with others, it may have been stolen and they are leaving it there for a couple of days until the heat is off, so it is worth letting the police know it's there.

Staffy1 · 02/08/2021 20:56

There’ll be a bus on someone’s driveway tomorrow.

MrsSkylerWhite · 02/08/2021 20:56

Noshowlomo

Get it towed onto public highway and council can deal with it“

This.

OverByYer · 02/08/2021 20:58

Ring 101 to see if it’s been reported stolen

Lifeispassingby · 02/08/2021 21:01

She did post in legal!

TalkingOutYerArse · 02/08/2021 23:17

Phone the police and log it for sure. Could be stolen.

ProfessorSlocombe · 03/08/2021 07:58

Looks like the OP has become an involuntary bailee ...

Oh get over yourself

It's rude to park on someone else's property

Intherightplace · 03/08/2021 08:59

Have you asked the neighbours? It must surely be someone who knew you were away and thought they'd take advantage for a day or two while they prepare for their own holiday.

Very cheeky, but unlikely to be a long term problem.

Even if it isn't, someone must know who it belongs to.

DoormatBob · 03/08/2021 09:01

@YesIDoLoveCrisps

Put it on gumtree free to collector.
Unwanted gift seems to cover it!
VariantL1130 · 03/08/2021 09:04

Can you get in it?
