Cycle Buddies March/April

I know its a bit early but I am awaiting for AF to arrive this month so we can start our second fresh IVF cycle.
Our history is I'm 41, ttc 3 years now, unexplained infertility. AMH is 1.7 We had a fresh cycle last year (march/April as well!) and had 2 embryos put back. They stuck until 9dp5dt.
We have changed clinics - as I couldn't go back to the first one, nothing they did wrong really, just in my head I couldn't go back there.
New clinic does seem more thorough, so we are going to be on different drugs, still buserelin to down reg but then onto Menopur. I am going to have the scratch this time too.
Last year the cycle buddies thread on here was invaluable to me so if anyone else is starting soon it would be lovely to have the support.

I had another scan this morning. My lining is now triple layered which is good. They found 2 more follicles so that means i’m Up to 8 now which makes me feel slightly more positive. I had a blood test to check my oestrogen levels. They’ll call me back this afternoon but looks like one set of injections tonight, another in the morning and then trigger tomorrow night ready for EC on Monday.

I'm still away for the next few days, enjoying the sun but made up with cold. That's the third one this year! 😷 Think I'm more run down than I realise. So I'm now eating the fruit in the sangria to get more vitamins 😉

I have an injection free day, yippee! Yes had my trigger last night at 10.10pm ready for tomorrow morning. Feeling a bit anxious as the clinic only do general anaesthetic, but guess it will he less uncomfortable for me.
yorkshire you def need your 5 a day, no matter how it comes!

I bet it seems strange not having to inject today after so long bjones. Think I'd prefer a GA, but it costs another £400+. Will be thinking of you tomorrow and hoping everything goes to plan.

Hi @Yorkshirelass27 I'm doing good thanks, had my first 'night out' last night as the designated driver...ended up giving lifts until the early hours! The joys!! Are you back from your holiday?
@bjonesreborn Good luck for tomorrow! An anxious time I'm sure but I personally can not wait to get to mine, feels like these weeks are dragging!
Does anyone know if it's normal to still ovulate whilst on Buserelin? I feel like I may have still ovulated this week but I'm sure the drugs are meant to stop that from happening??

Sorry I’ve been lost the last few days my sister and her friends and canalise have been to stay since Thursday , many would think bad timing j thought best timing a wonderful distraction as I adore my sister (sadly infertile too as her eggs aged too young and she isn’t in donor egg head space bless her)

XstephanieX - I think I must’ve ovulated as I had AF on buserelin and made the panic call to check I was supposed to and yes apparently I was which was about 3-4 weeks after I started the injections ( I wish I had made a diary now as would’ve been nice)
Hearts- how are you doing? bFN so early is really not uncommon so I’ve everything crossed for that BFP today! Huge huge hugs !

So today should’ve been ET for me however, I had one top grade 5 cell divided embryo placed back Friday (2dt) due too the fact I was going to put 2 back as recommended after last time they got me in then as I didn’t have a choice of what 2 as the 3rd was a little slower at 3 cell split. And the 2nd at 4 cell split.
My options were to

1. freeze all of they got to blastocyst stage to lower my OHSS risk
   
2. place one back and try see if other 2 get to blast and then freeze if poss, this doenst lower OHSS risk but levels won’t be as high as a 2 embryo transfer so apparently easier to manage.
   
3. take the risk and go to plan of 2 embryo transfer.
   
   I was confused so went with the middle option but the consultant (happened to be my fave guy ! Said he would’ve chosen the same!)
   TRis guy saw me first time around all the way through until EC then someone else transferred I was devastated! This time that same transfer person saw me all way through but my main man transferred and he just relaxes me and laughs and jokes and is everything I needed him to be , however we can’t pick and choose even privately as the two of them work different places on rota.
   
   So that’s me in 2 ww with one placed and hoping this is ‘the’ one but equally hoping for the call that at least 1 made to blastocyst today so I have a back up plan xx

dildoos congrats on being pupo. Did you get your call yet?
afm they got 2 eggs today. I am disappointed but as my amh was 1.7 when last tested its to be expected I suppose. They will call tomorrow morning to let us know if they have fertilised. If so then ET booked for wed. I said from the start I wanted 2 put back in so there is no point keeping them going til day 5 as there's nothing more they can do if they weren't back in if that makes sense. So nail biting 16-18 hours for me now, just hope theyre little fighters. Think I will def sleep tonight as a pretty sleepless night last night and a v early start. Pessaries start tonight - oh joy!!

Got everything crossed for you both bjones and dildoos. Anxious times but let's hope it's all worth it. bjones, I hate those pessaries, they gave me a really dodgy tummy last time. Surely here is a better way?!
Back home tomorrow. I've really not been very well the past couple of days, to the point where we didn't know if I'd be able to fly back. However, think I'm slowly getting there. So much for a relaxing holiday!
Heard there has been more snow in the UK, so hope you are all keeping warm and relaxing.

Thanks yorkshire some people say to do the pessaries in the back way but i’m Not terribly keen on that- not terribly keen on then full stop!
Poor you being poorly, maybe stay where you are?! It’s pretty miserable in England. No snow down here, just lots of rain xx

BJOnes - all the best to your eggs, I will pray extra hard tonight for them to fertilise ! Yes I was a 2dt both times as they do say we have the best environment for them ultimately.
I’m doing back way as I heard it gets in system easier however I’ve been mighty constipated (sorry for the TMI)
Yorkshire so sorry you’ve been unwell 😢 I hope your going to recover quickly. I had a photo this am from my cousin they are in Penistone near Sheffield and yes they have lots of snow for sure.

I had to call clinic as I had so many different drugs to remember I have forgotten to take the antibiotics for the 3 days post EC and found them this am 😱 and I’ve had the transfer and hoping I haven’t an infected environment for the embryo? #stressed

Quick update, had the embryologist call today sadly both embryos didn’t make it to freeze so praying the one placed back will stick 🙏

Sorry to hear that dildoos, I found myself in this situation last time and it is really disheartening. However, there is still hope for that little top grade embie. Look after yourself and I have everything crossed for you.

Sorry to hear that dildoos. I also remember from last time being sad about no frosties. Fingers crossed for you that this is the 1. How you feeling?
They just called, one has fertlised and the other one may catch up. The nurse went on about pro-nuclei which of course I didn't understand but have since been googling frantically! It seems that a 2 pro nuclei is optimum but a 1 pro nuclei has a 60% chance of fertilising also. So have 1 that is 2pn and 1 that is 1 pn.
If they make it overnight then they will put back in at 1.30 tomorrow.

BJones absolutely and I feel absolutely exhausted this time round as the cabergoline I have to take to help prevent OHSs causes drowsiness (its an understatement I fell asleep this am 10-12:15 then had another nap 2-3 ) that’s ridiculous luckily only on an 8 day course so should be out of system by time I go back to work.
My OTD is 12th April , so another 9 days to go.
I’ve crampy pains low down since the call today and not feeling positive at all , I know it’s on my head as didn’t feel the pains until that call!

Hi how is everyone? Sorry for taking a while to get back. Our flight was delayed 4hrs yesterday, so spent most of the day sat in the plane waiting-it was grounded because of a flight control computer glitch. Anyway we landed back in he early hours.
We went for our appointment this afternoon. Got to mix 6 powers every morning to inject! Shesh! Should start in two weeks time.

heart hope you’re ok. Some of us have been in the failed cycle situation so we are here to listen if you want to vent/chat.
Afm I am PUPO with 1 embie on board. They said it was top grade and transfer went well. I feel sad about the one that did t make it but also shit scared about this one. Now on excruciating knicker watch for 2 weeks!!!!

Thinking of you @Heart2God - there were so many months I hoped I'd be pregnant only to take a test and to be devastated to not be, I can't imagine how it feels to have that happen at the end of a cycle. My brother and sister in law almost gave up but now she's pregnant with our niece and due in 3 weeks, it will happen x
@bjonesreborn I'm good thanks, just wishing away the next 2.5weeks until EC! Although I'm NOT looking forward to the 2ww! How are you feeling? Do you think you'll test early or hold out? My clinic has you in for a blood test on the morning then calls you between 1-5 with the results 🙈 How does it work at your clinic?x

XStephanieX not sure I will test early. Last time I got to 9dp5dt before it all went wrong and I wasn’t tempted at all. But who knows this time as I only had a 2dt it does seem like an awfully long time to wait!! Oh wow, that could be a long day for you if they didn’t call til 5. Mine is just a test at home in the morning and then phone them with results.

Lol yes 6 powders, mixed with water to inject once bjones. Thank goodness it's not 6 injections a day!
Glad to hear the transfer went well. I found that the most painful part last time for some reason.
xstephanie my clinic take your blood at the end of the 2ww and then you call them around 1pm for the results.

Yorkshire - I read the 6 powders and took a gulp then read in one syringe -phew , is it in one liquid or will it be like a full syringe?
Xstephanie- bless you not too long now before EC, hope your follicles are growing nicely for you.
BJones- how are you baring up in the 2ww? Have you been tempted yet?
Heart- how are you feeling? Thoughts are with you at this time and hoping you are finding strength to fight back after such a knock.
I took a test this am so I’m 7dp a 2dt and BFN, why oh why did I test ? I do t know why I do it to myself.
Cramping still the same and feels same as last time 😢
Only hope is no bleeding happening just yet

Morning all. dildoos I would say that’s way too early to test. Don’t give up hope yet...someone said to me last time there is a reason the clinics tell us to wait 2 weeks as hard as it is!! Step away from the tests!!!!
I feel much happier for you yorkshire now you have confirmed it’s only 1injection and not 6 😂
Afm i’m fine. I think I have a bit of tummy ache but not really sure if that makes sense, it’s so easy
To imagine symptoms at this point. No I haven’t been tempted, i’m only 2dp2dt, so would be complete waste of a test. To be honest I wasn’t tempted at all last time and I got to 9dp5dt so hoping i’ll be the same this year - except carry on to full term! I don’t even have a test in the house (only the one the clinic have given me for otd and that looks complicated 🙈) so i’d Have to make the effort to go and buy one.
Currently in a beautiful hotel in the New Forest, my oh told me to pack a bag and be ready by 11 yesterday. So I did as I was told! It was our 5yr anniversary yesterday (not married - still waiting for him to ask 😬) it’s been just what I needed actually as have done bugger all, but find that hard at home as always various jobs that need doing.
