Cycle Buddies March/April

I know its a bit early but I am awaiting for AF to arrive this month so we can start our second fresh IVF cycle.
Our history is I'm 41, ttc 3 years now, unexplained infertility. AMH is 1.7 We had a fresh cycle last year (march/April as well!) and had 2 embryos put back. They stuck until 9dp5dt.
We have changed clinics - as I couldn't go back to the first one, nothing they did wrong really, just in my head I couldn't go back there.
New clinic does seem more thorough, so we are going to be on different drugs, still buserelin to down reg but then onto Menopur. I am going to have the scratch this time too.
Last year the cycle buddies thread on here was invaluable to me so if anyone else is starting soon it would be lovely to have the support.

Hello all, hope you are all keeping warm tonight. @bjones good luck with ur scratch tomorrow. Hope it goes well for U. Does it hurt?
I have had an eventful day; got an unexpected visit from AF today. Called the clinic to book for baseline scan and was asked to come in. 6 follicles, 450units Gonal F, done my first jab tonight. Was not too bad.

Hi yorkshire thank you! Yes we made it to clinic. So pleased we travelled up yesterday. Journey home this morning was slightly scary, a lot of skidding but oh did well to get us back. As for the scratch, i’m Not going to lie - it really hurt!! They said it would be like a sharp period pain, well i’ve Never had a period pain like that!! He said it went well and he scratched all sides of the womb. Still got tummy ache now but they said that was to be expected. Hoping to go for a stroll in the snow this afternoon

Bless you Bjonesreborn, that sounds heavy going. Hope the pain eases soon. It's hard to compute how some of us have to go through so much just to try to get pregnant, when for others it simple just happens.
Glad to hear you got back safely, well done to your OH!
Hope the rest of your day is relaxing

Glad U got home alright bjones. I am sorry U had to go through pain but you can take comfort in knowing U r doing all you possibly can to make this cycle a success.
Hope you are allowed to have paracetamol at least to ease the pain a bit. Get a good rest dear, U have 72hours till it all starts for U.
@yorkshirelass, I am rooting for U to start so we can share experiences together. Hope U r keeping good.

My first 💉 wasn't too bad. Fiddled a bit with setting the pen to the right dose but got there at last. 2nd dose tonight, hope it gets better.
All set up heating to maximum tonight, it's set to be colder than north pole.

Morning all. How are you?
Had tummy ache most of Friday, tried not to take any painkillers but caved around 2. But ache all gone when I woke yesterday.
Now trying to decide what to do today as start injections but we have been told to do them in the evening so need to fill the time somehow otherwise I’ll just be thinking about them all day. How are you injections going heart?

Hi ladies hope you've had a good weekend. We had more snow last night, but lots of rain today, so it's slowly melting away.
Hope the tummy aches have gone now Bjonesreborn and you managed to keep your mind active today. Did you previously inject at night?
Hope the injections are going ok for you Heart?

Hi, yes we went for a walk and to the pub for roast lunch - does seem terribly unfair not being able to have a few glasses of vino to wash it down with though!!
We injected in the morning last year, clinic said we could do it whenever we wanted as long as it was at the same time. However our new clinic said that they wanted us to do it in the evening - between 7&8. So will just take a bit of getting used to and need to remember it when booking things. Don’t really fancy injecting anywhere but at home. The first one went well. My oh does them - he says it’s his way of being involved (which i’m Quite pleased about as i’m A bit of a wimp!!)
Hope you’ve all had a nice weekend, surprised there aren’t more people on this thread, but easier to keep track of just a few of us!!
yorkshire do you have a date to start yet?

Bjonesreborn, i know, no alcohol is soo hard! Glad you had a nice afternoon though and the injection went well. Also credit to your OH administering them! Mine is a wuss and refuses- he thinks he will do it wrong and hurt me bless him. He did stand behind me and give me words of encouragement though!
I am due to start mid April, although the last few days I've felt like AF is on her way 2 weeks early, which if she does will mean I'll start sooner.

How are you all
yorkshire/wombat any sign of AF?
heart how are your injections going?
afm day 4 of injections and they seem ok so far, sure it will get worse though. Feeling all a bit down about it all - I've had to turn down a few jobs over the past couple of days - just babysitting, but that doesn't fit in with injections which are done in the evenings.
Also keep seeing women on other threads that have had failures and can't help but think what if it doesn't work for us again. I know its all about the positive thinking but that bit is hard too.
Really wish none of us were in this position

Hi Bjonesreborn,
How's things? Hope the injections are still going well. Sorry to hear you have been feeling a bit down. I know exactly what you mean, it feels like we set ourselves up for a fall. I haven't even started the next cycle and I feel negatively! It's not helped by the fact two members of my team have just announced they are expecting.
No AF yet, so perhaps back on track.
How are you Heart?

Hi yorkshire yes feeling better today thank you, funny how some days are better than others. Injections are fine so far thank you, not 1 bruise yet so OH is doing a good job! Glad the weekend is looming, oh is quite good at distracting me from the whole process!
Hope everyone is ok and has a nice weekend

Hello all, hope U r all doing good. I am sorry I have been quite; had a busy week.
@bjones, how are you coping with your 💉, hope u r not getting any side effects.
I find it is not as bad as I feared. I said to my DH that I will brave 💯s Of the injections on any part of my body (except the eye of courseHmm) if it will guarantee a BFP, unfortunately there is no guarantee.

I get what U r saying about ladies on other threads with failed cycles, it's depressing isn't it. They too started their ivf journey with positivity and faith but ended up with negative results.
I so pray that we will all have successful cycles.
I had my 9th day scan today, My right ovary is still dormant with just 1 follicle responding to stim nut the left ovary showed promising result with about 5 good follicles. Next scan Monday to fix EC.

hi heart injections are fine so far, no side effects (hope I haven't jinxed it) good your left ovary is playing ball, the right one needs to pay attention by the sounds of it! But remember you only need one good one. Good luck for Monday x

I am sure you haven't (jinxed it) @ bjones. U will be alright. How long are U on the downreg meds for?

@yorkshirelass, hope you r OK. I am sorry U r having to cope with expectant colleagues. It must be excruciating to smile and offer congratulations when all you want to do is scream. It's just not fair.

I am on them until 19th then I have Scan and hopefully start stims. I may be getting confused (easily done!) but think I still do buserlin anyway after that.

It is a lot, yes!!! It’s because i’m Old (in terms of fertility, I don’t feel old!!) that i’m on long protocol. I remember last time when it went up to 2 a day that’s when my tummy became quite sore. Anyway end result is what it’s all about and it will be worth it. I know it will fly, less than a month til ec if all goes to plan!
