Cycle Buddies March/April

I know its a bit early but I am awaiting for AF to arrive this month so we can start our second fresh IVF cycle.
Our history is I'm 41, ttc 3 years now, unexplained infertility. AMH is 1.7 We had a fresh cycle last year (march/April as well!) and had 2 embryos put back. They stuck until 9dp5dt.
We have changed clinics - as I couldn't go back to the first one, nothing they did wrong really, just in my head I couldn't go back there.
New clinic does seem more thorough, so we are going to be on different drugs, still buserelin to down reg but then onto Menopur. I am going to have the scratch this time too.
Last year the cycle buddies thread on here was invaluable to me so if anyone else is starting soon it would be lovely to have the support.

Xstephaniex- sorry your on the rollercoaster too 😢 it gets easier, best thing is to allow yourself that time to shed tears as it does help!
I think we all feel a little crazy at times and speaking to similar minded females helps!

Had the scan and I’m really happy as I’ve 12 follicles right that. Are coming along nicely and 8 follicles left to which 4 look good sized too!
Last cycle I had 4 that they tried to get big enough and 2 eggs from those so I’m hoping more follicles slightly more eggs?
I know it’s quality over quantity but as this is our last ‘round’ we’ve paid for and it’s not over til all embryos used I’m hoping for some we can freeze to take the pressures off !
One slightly 😬 moment they think I will need my EC a day earlier which a) could upset the parents as they will be stuck for childcare and b) it’s my daughters 10th birthday!
However, all she has asked for the past 7 years is a sibling for her birthday so maybe this could be a lucky omen?
Now heading off to London for DD to have her first shot at modelling so really excited nervous for her as something I would absolutely hate to do myself but she has wanted to give it a whirl for 3 years now. I live to make my miracle baby happy! X

Oh yes XstephanieX those babies/pregnancies are everywhere. They don’t know how lucky they are. Was infuriated this week as found out one of the baby bombers is carrying on drinking and smoking - apparently she told a mutual friend that it’s fine now they’ve had their 3 month scan. I mean ffs really?!
Yes that sounds like the long protocol, seems to take forever but once you get going it goes quite quickly as every few days there seems to be an appt for a scan or something.
dildoos that’s great news about your juicy follicles and if ec needs to be a day earlier then so be it- at least the clinic are on top of what’s going on. Hope your daughters modelling goes well

Hi @dildoos I'm glad I'm not the only one!! Your scan sounds really promising and I'll keep everything crossed that you get lots of lovely eggs to be able to chose from! I think you're right, it sounds like a positive sign! Our EC/ET week is the same as our niece is due who my sister and brother in law had ICSI for...I'm a big believer that these things are symbolic!x

I have now broken up for Easter and we are heading away on holiday. Really ready for it as have been so busy and stressed with the sheer amount of work. Don't want to be like that next month!

Hello ladies, hope U r all keeping good.
I am happy for U @dildoos, 12 + 8 follicles are a good number. Yeah, it's quality over quantity but the more follicles U have, the more chance of having good quality eggs I should think. I only had one follicle on my right ovary and a couple on my left but they managed to get 10 eggs, 2 transferred and none to freeze.
How did ur DD get on with her shot at modelling? Hope it wasn't too overwhelming.
@yorskshire, I am jealous, wish I could get away from work and go somewhere nice. Enjoy Ur holiday dear. Have fun, U deserve it.
How are U @bjones, time had gone really quick hasn't it? U have got ur progress scan tomorrow and it will be EC soon. Good luck for 2morrow and do let us know how you get on.

afm went for scan this morning. My lining is thickening nicely and I have 5 follicles growing nicely. I'm quite disheartened to be honest as at this stage last year I had 9 (from which they retrieved 4 eggs) so I'm not feeling too hopeful. Fed up of feeling sick as well. Back again on wed for another scan.

So I’ve just pulled the trigger and EC booked early for Wednesday as things have home a little crazy there which has taken everyone by huge surprise and so they’ve taken me off the pregoveris tonight too as they are worried I’ll end up with nothing 😫
So just buserelin tonight and ovitrelle at 9pm.
Fx all is well for Wednesday when I go in at 7:30 am. My daughter 10 on Wednesday has been so understanding as she asks every year for a sibling for her birthday , she made us very proud on Saturday and got a modelling contract 😱 she loved every second, not like her mummy who hates photos taken .
Any way enough of me rambling !

BJones- hope the scan goes well and your follicles grow nicely , the nurse today seemed more interested in the size than the quantity, 🙏

I am good @bjones, thanks. Good news with ur lining. Don't be disheartened darling, there is still time for other follicles to catch up and for them to have nice healthy eggs.
I read on someother thread about people having 21 follicles but ended up with not a single healthy egg. So be strong my dear.

Dildoos, 🎊 congratulations on your daughter getting a contract. U must be very proud. Fingers crossed for U for Wednesday.

I am having a bad day, just tested this morning 7dp5dt and got a BFN. I am devastated. I doubt there is still any hope cause I don't feel any different. Feel Like normal me without all the hormones.

Afm scan went well. They found another follicle! Back again on Friday for a scan and then ec scheduled for Monday.

That and the possible differing opinion of the name given for bread rolls bjones 😜 Great news about finding another follicle!
Don't give up hope just yet heart. Have you any symptoms? Got everything crossed for a positive outcome.

BJones- great news on the extra follicle! How’s the lining doing too?
EC was ok, 8 retrieved however, eastrogen really high so they are worried about OHSS, I’m on medication to stop this meaning no driving and they tell you (worry you) with what could happen and I may have to put what ever fertilises to freeze! This will be decided Monday (I fear it will be a long 5 days) still 8 is better than the 2 last time I would absolutely love 8 to fertilised now that would be a miracle! X

dildoos 8 is amazing. Congratulations!! Will you get a call tomorrow to say how many have fertilised? Fingers crossed ohss doesn’t set in. How you feeling?

Hi ladies, sorry I’ve been absent these last few days, work has been manic and I just felt super crappy and sorry for myself yesterday! Feel totally fine again today, my poor hubby is getting the brunt of these mood swings!!
@Heart2God you must be feeling really gutted about your test but I agree with the other girls in that you just don’t know until you test properly! I’ve read so many times that some pregnancies just take longer to show than others!
@Yorkshirelass27 I’m so jealous of your holiday!! I say kick back, relax & enjoy some sangria for us all!
@dildoos 8 eggs is great, my niece was born from one ‘low quality’ 3 day embryo so it only takes one!! Hopefully you’ll get to go ahead with the transfer but even if you have to wait it’s for the best if it increases your chances!
@bjonesreborn sounds like you’re a few weeks ahead of me...did you take Buserlin? Or was it Menopur that’s made you feel sick?

@bjonesreborn Ah well I'll look forward to that then! Lol Can't imagine anything putting me off my food mind!! We've got our next scan on 9th then two scans the following week which is the week before our EC on 23rd! When is your EC scheduled for?x
