DD would be Golf. I can only say

thisxgirl · 19/11/2009 19:41

Golf GTI...oh dear. I'm glad I was a good ten hours away from giving birth in that car. It was 1am when we left the house after I had been denial about my contractions for four hours. We have a shared driveway and our neighbour had parked behind us and wouldn't answer the door! He nonchalantly ambled out of the house after about ten minutes and peered in the car and said, "Ooh, is it happening?" - at which point I had a contraction, gripped the sides of the seats, groaned and yelped, "yesssss" and he finally hopped along to his car. I've never really forgiven him for "not hearing" DP's very.loud.banging at the door and ringing of the doorbell and having me in sheer terror and pain in the passenger seat.

Bongo!

seeker · 19/11/2009 19:42

And 27 minutes earlier he would have been!

lou33 · 19/11/2009 19:42

has anyone said that all the people who think someone called mercedes was named after a car is technically wrong, because the firm was named after mr benz' daughter?

just a piece of useless information i thought i would add

BabyGiraffes · 19/11/2009 19:42

I actually know someone called Clio but don't think she was named after a car.

My dd would be Golf... not very feminine?

CarmenSanDiego · 19/11/2009 19:45

DS for a nice American name would be Cadillac.

With my DDs, we were driven to hospital in my Granny's Toyota

funtimewincies · 19/11/2009 19:49

Nice and roomy for giving birth though seeker, my friend has one and I'm very jealous .

behaveyerselves · 19/11/2009 19:54

My dd would have been Camry, as in Toyota.

Sort of works...!

seeker · 19/11/2009 19:54

best car in the world, funtimes - we adore ours!

MrsJohnDeere · 19/11/2009 20:08

Ds1 would have been A6

Ds2 Legacy (which almost sounds like a name, albeit an odd one)

WetAugust · 19/11/2009 20:10

DH had a Panther Kallista decades ago. If DS had been DD she would have been Kallista - long before Ms Flockhart.

CallSignCharlie · 19/11/2009 20:23

Xsara for a girl or Picasso for a boy - not to bad actually

funtimewincies · 19/11/2009 20:29

seeker. I'm thinking that the facilities for making a nice brew and some toast after would be handy! Maybe we've hit on a new business idea, hiring out a mobile birthing unit!

Iggipepperedfillet · 19/11/2009 20:37

I have a Volkswagon Devon Moonraker. Guess what ds has as a middle name?
(The middle one, though I'd have loved Moonraker!)

SlartyBartFast · 19/11/2009 20:45

ds and dd would be an austin metro
dd2 would be a volvo
lovely
