Ours would be baby Ka - a little harsh sounding I think but it does have multiple pronunciation options Kah Kay Kaaaaah Kay-ay

or baby Vectra which actually has a nice ring to it...........

DS would have been Saab and DD Mercedes, quite classy, acksherley !!

MadameDefarge · 19/11/2009 17:30

Ds would have been born the 106.

bamboo · 19/11/2009 17:32

We don't have a car, just hire them as needed so perhaps Enterprise (suitably Quaker-ish?) or Hertz.

RockBird · 19/11/2009 17:38

DD would have been Rover 75, that being DH's car that took us to and from hospital. Or Focus, which was my car at the time. Don't like either of those.

Now she'd be Vectra which at least could pass as a name

theslightlypeckishcaterpillar · 19/11/2009 17:38

Astra for both my dds

Or maybe Vauxhall

MadreInglese · 19/11/2009 17:41

Sorry cab't be bothered to read the srticle but DD1 was going to be Nova for most of my pregancy

Anyone remember them?? Vauxhalls I think

It was however in Homage to this actress
Nova Pilbeam

We probably are related to her somewhere down the line

PoppyIsApain · 19/11/2009 18:19

Rover 45, oh dear, before i changed my car it would of been Daewoo

FimboFortunaFeet · 19/11/2009 18:19

Dd would have been Escort

Ds would have been Zafira

DillieTantie · 19/11/2009 18:22

Actually born in - er - ambulance (probably descended from Transit). Neither would be my first choice name. Transported home in a Clio. Another "no".

ShinyAndNew · 19/11/2009 18:24

I was drove to hospital in the same car for both dd1 and dd2, so one would have to be Vauxhall and the other Vectra

I think I may borrow some one who has a Zsara if there is a next time. That has a much better ring to it.

lou33 · 19/11/2009 18:24

we didnt have a car for dd1 and 2, so they would have been called "born at home" and "nearly born in my tights in the ambulance, but held on for another 3 minutes whilst i got inside a hospital"

ds1 would have been called citroen or xantia and ds2 would have been honda or shuttle

paisleyleaf · 19/11/2009 18:27

cinquecento

Wasn't there a woman who changed her name to Subaru Impreza?

Themasterandmargaritas · 19/11/2009 18:27

A friend of mine's dh delivered a baby in the back of his Landrover Defender in a Shell petrol station. We waited with baited breath to hear if they baby would be called Landy or Shell. The lady named the baby after the dh.

oopsandbabycoconut · 19/11/2009 19:00

DD would have been Aguila or Impreza.

chickbean · 19/11/2009 19:01

We'd have had Vectra and Zafira (not great for boys).

I did read an article years ago about a woman who called her first two "Mercedes" and "Bentley" without realising they were both cars then called her third "Saab" when she had realised. Still can't believe Austin Healey's parents.

We have a friend whose daughter has names that are both Argos sofa types - never asked if they had anything to do with conception and birth.

Flibbertyjibbet · 19/11/2009 19:17

I I had a baby now: 'spacestar' (nice for a hippyish family perhaps?', or 'Pickup' hmmmm

Based on the cars I had when the children were born they would have been ds1 'old shed' and ds2 'banger'

Peachygirl, I had a vauxhall nova - they changed the name to corsa, as when they tried to sell them in Spain they realised the name means 'doesn't go' in spanish [grin

MyCatIsABiggerBastardThanYours · 19/11/2009 19:25

DD would have been VW Camper Van, or Golf. Neither name grabbing me

DS - Punto or Passat.

Again, not really encouraging me to change their names.

EsmeWeatherwax · 19/11/2009 19:28

Mine would have been Vectra and Meriva, although the Meriva is more commonly called Humf.

DontHauntMeBaby My dog is called Corolla. Named after the town in North Carolina, not your car.

I own a Fiat Punto, DH a BMW.

lovechoc · 19/11/2009 19:33

Skoda Fabia

imaginewittynamehere · 19/11/2009 19:34

dd1 Megane
dd2 c4 picasso

LittleWhiteWereWolf · 19/11/2009 19:35

DD would have been Ford Focus
Not keen on that.

But had she somehow been born on or around DHs bike she would have been Suzuki which I actually quite like...

MaryBS · 19/11/2009 19:35

Veyron

(just kidding , wishful thinking on my part!)
