Absolutely shocking attack at the Heaton Park Synagogue in Crumpsall North Manchester. My heart goes out to all those hurt and affected by this terrible atrocity.

Ashamed of what? No one is celebrating? The protests have been going on for 2 years. I think if they suddenly stopped protesting, they would be accused of being anti-Semitic all along.

On Saturdays.

SpaceRaccoon · 02/10/2025 22:53

The crazy thing is, if British Jews leave, where would they go? Because where is safe for them?

Israel, where Jewish people literally feel safer, despite the constant rocket attacks, than on the streets of Britain.

BluebellShmoobell · 02/10/2025 22:53

Can you imagine if a mosque had been attacked today and tonight a tommy robinson march was taking place, well it wouldn't happen and how have they managed to arrange this protest in 24 hours, isn't it about that cretin gretha thunberg? Who really should have been forced to watch the October 7th attacks in a room with screens all around her and the volume at an ear bleeding pitch!

How is the atmosphere different to this march last month?

Why are you defending people celebrating murder?

I suppose it’s not too different to seeing Palestinians celebrating the dead Jews on October 7th being paraded through the streets so….business as usual

clipboardz · 02/10/2025 22:54

@miraxxx I don't want this and it's completely wrong. It's not what my Britain is. Why have we allowed this to happen? I have jewish friends but ignorantly until Oct 7th I had no idea quite how prolific and acceptable antisemitism was.

It would not happen and this just fuels more discord because it opens up accusations of two tier policing etc.

Please don’t feel a bad about that. People notice what affects them - that’s normal. I have no idea what it’s like to walk in the world as a black woman or a wheelchair user or any number of other things that affect people every day. And you have no idea what it feels like to be Jewish. That’s fine! What isn’t fine is to disagree or ignore or gaslight when we tell you what it is like.

MookieCat · 02/10/2025 22:57

Agree @lisalisa . DH is not Jewish but is a huge history buff and he always said that the trick with survival as a Jewish person in the 1930s was 'knowing when to leave'. That in itself is the history of Jewish people. Knowing when to pack up and go.

We had an actual plan when waiting to see if Corbyn's Labour party would win. I would pack up my DCs and I and we would move to the country where my parents currently live. DH would sort out everything here (selling the house etc) and follow on with our pets.

I ask the minimisers on this thread.... have you ever had any actual situation in your entire lives where you have very seriously had a plan to leave this country because you were that fearful? Try and imagine what that is like.

Or just tell us we are making it up like you lot always do.

Which then takes us back round to exactly why Israel exists.

Quite

Double , triple quote !

Today's is on a Thursday not the usual Saturday, and is MUCH more upbeat (bit weird for protesting a genocide but anyway).

Your denials are very unconvincing at this point btw.

How are they celebrating murder? It looks like the same march as always.

What are they even chanting? I can’t make it out.

The poster said the people are happy at today’s terror attack. I can’t see anyone smiling. It’s definitely not more upbeat. It’s the same protest every week.

I have only seen an outpouring of grief, prayers and saying how wrong it was. That's from the local Muslim community and the the wider ones I've heard of.

I guess there will be some groups (Muslim and non Muslim) who think that all Jewish people should be held accountable for what Israel is doing but I suspect it's a very small number and not any I've seen or heard.

I live in the area though, so may be people wouldn't say it around here?

No I’m talking specifically about that poster.

In just one ugly protest today, your fellow hamasniks behaved more badly that Tommy Robinsons' 100 000 strong crowd. 40 arrests versus the dreaded far right fascists' 24. Give yourself a slow clap.

Metropolitan Police (@metpoliceuk) on X

Footage is being shared online showing clashes between officers and protesters in Whitehall earlier this evening. We have provided an update, including details of arrests made, in the short statement below:

@clipboardzbecause most of us feel that is exactly what is happening.

Is anyone you disagree with Hamas then? What do I call you then, a Netanyanik?

He arrived as a child and been 'British' since 2006. Arrived with his family as a child.

Even if he had been born here there is clearly a massive problem with hatred, lack of integration and the intifada being passed down the generations.

Here's a suggestion for the officials who decide these things: perhaps if someone has called their son 'Jihad' it's a sign that they won't be a boon to the country.

The Israelis put it on for her the last time she was on a flotilla but she refused to watch

reginaldronnierara · 02/10/2025 23:04

Astonishingly, even Jeremy Corbin posted this today

I am horrified by the news of multiple stabbings at a Manchester synagogue on Yom Kippur. My thoughts are with the loved ones of the victims of this heinous antisemitic attack. We must defend a society where people of all faiths can practice their religion in safety and peace.

Hear hear Jere

We see what we wish to see, I suppose. And it's not Saturday.

stomachamelon · 02/10/2025 23:05

@miraxxxwhy would you choose to do that today and also assault police who have been indirectly involved with a terrorist event?
The mind boggles….
