Absolutely shocking attack at the Heaton Park Synagogue in Crumpsall North Manchester. My heart goes out to all those hurt and affected by this terrible atrocity.

I know that synagogues always have very good security - the one local to me is absolutely inaccessible unless you're buzzed through the gates. The perpetrator would know that there would be people coming and going, and in groups outside.

Tortielady · 02/10/2025 12:07

It's dreadful, but not a huge surprise to many of us unfortunately.

Chenecinquantecinq · 02/10/2025 12:08

This is what happens when anti semitism is normalised which it has been by the Left with authorities turning a blind eye.

GentleSheep · 02/10/2025 12:08

Absolutely heartbreaking.

Lampzade · 02/10/2025 12:08

Absolutely disgraceful .
I despair

Luvna · 02/10/2025 12:09

It was only a matter of time until this happened. Ive been seeing it coming for months.

The anti semitism online is at a fever pitch right now. I’m a Sikh engaged to a Jewish guy and the names I have been called for merely stating many Israelis don’t support what their govt is doing in Gaza. Horrendous.

Shame on anyone who demonises and dehumanises a person or people. Even if it’s “only” in a comment section. They all have blood on their hands.

Shocking, so shocking.

And what on earth is wrong with the idiotic bystanders? Why did they not vacate when instcruted that the terrorist has a bomb strapped too him?

And the footage of the man bleeding to death on the pavement and people just shouting, filming and no one even trying to give first aid or comfort the man on the road, just lingering and staring and even egging the security guys on to shoot the terrorist. Imbecile chavs.

It takes a lot to shock me these days but I am pehenomanly disgusted with the bystanders. WHY did they not try and look after the guy on the pavement. Clearly it wasn't due to feeling unsafe as they had no issue shouting and filming the horrendous scenes and hanging around for their bit of inhumane excitement.

I detest them almost more than the perpetrator, well almost.

Dont be ridiculous. The guy might have had hidden body explosives strapped to him. Presumably he knew what the consequences of attacking innocent people might be. Horrible and vile individual. In some other countries his injured body would probably have been hauled onto the back of truck paraded round the streets. Should count himself lucky he's in a civilised country.

Craftysue · 02/10/2025 12:11

Shocking but sadly I'm not surprised at all. Wishing the injured a speedy recovery

Not the time for political point scoring.

Sadly, our country is full of hatred from many sides, fuelled by the media. So much for our British Values of tolerance and respect for others beliefs.

Eh? I am stating facts.

Nestingbirds · 02/10/2025 12:12

Entirely unacceptable. I do hope those that have been injured and harmed a full recovery. Heartbreaking for the community, and for our country. I think I speak for 99% of the country when I say we will not allow anyone to be persecuted in our free country, here they will always be valued. We will not stand for this racist hatred.

Yes, people would have been in shock, and terrified. He could easily have been a suicide bomber.

They guy bleeding on the pavement was an innocent victim who had been stabbed.

Time to rethink religion... it's not helping to bring us together. It divides.

Comedycook · 02/10/2025 12:15

Absolutely devastating....anti semitism in the UK is out of control

MrsEmmelineLucas · 02/10/2025 12:15

Well, we don't really know the ins and outs, it's all very confused at the moment.
However, it is the perpetrator who is to blame here. Not worshippers on their holy day.

I’m not sure it’s religion as such, more religious men. You don’t seem to get any of these issues whatsoever with any religious women?

It's a free country. You'd ban religion?
These people were doing nothing wrong, at all, just attending religious worship. The problem is that someone was so filled with hate, he would kill them for that.

Point scoring!?

The authorities have allowed openly anti-Semitic marches to take place regularly on our streets for months and months.

It would be highly irresponsible not to have realised that this appalling attack might be the result. There is nothing political about that

Heartbreaking. My thoughts are with the Jewish community on this their most holiest day.

I agree and for the poster who says this is not the time for political point scoring if this had been an attack on a mosque people would be lining up to blame Reform.

The poster was not referencing an innocent victim. They were referencing the attacker.... Hope security on all synagogues today is stepped up.
