Lucy Connolly sentenced to two and a half years.

I agree, this is the right sentence. She knew what she was doing.

For those who think the sentence is not too long.....do you think it should have beem more?

This! ^ Glad she got the sentence she did tbh, but as a pp said she will very likely only serve 10-12 months. Vile woman!

Funny how different she looks on her social media pic (left) compared to her prison mugshot (right!) She looks 15 years younger and 2 stone lighter in the (carefully edited and filtered) social media pic, than she does on her prison mugshot!

Literally looks like a different person! (She is 41, and IMO looks 34 in her social media pic, but 46 in her prison mugshot!)

you can't compare her sentence to Huw or anyone else convicted of any other crime, they are different crimes and have different sentencing guidelines.

Disgusting woman and she thoroughly deserves every second she spends in jail. I don't think she'll be making many friends in there.

Of course it was right to jail her. You can't have people like her walking the streets and mixing with normal people!

Good. She's a despicable individual, a small minded, nasty little Englander; like the Daily Mail incarnate. We should be making an example of those taking such an active part in peddling such hatred in our society.

I think it was right to jail her, but I’d have said for 12 weeks or so, anything else imo is disproportionate and scary to think someone can get jailed for that length of time while other types of criminal walk free or are released early.

As a mother and someone who almost lost a child I remember being incensed by the attack on those girls and so much has changed since…. Schools and nurseries having to reiterate lockdown policies and practice run and hide with the kids.

There was also a lot of misinformation on twitter which wouldn’t have helped.

Yes she deserves to be sentenced and what she said was disgusting. But people are annoyed because it's so DISPROPORTIONATE to crimes where others actually do kill and harm people

I mean it’s strange for you to repeatedly question what’s being done to tackle misinformation online while thinking this sentence which was spewing hate crimes mixed with misinformation online, was too harsh.

She’s horrendous.

But I don’t feel great about anyone slating her weight and appearance in the mugshot as if it’s somehow relevant to her awfulness

Seriously? She told people to set fire to a building while there were people in it - to kill hundreds of people in a horrific way.
