Watching news. People, ordinary people apart from the colour of their skin, are being threatened, their business ruined, and are petrified to step outside.
Because a few ignorant, selfish, thuggish women and men, who don't have the wit to understand that social media spouts false information.

Because from my position these racist thugs bung me in with ‘you people ruining the country’. I am not talking people who are concerned about immigration or asylum seekers, or the impacts on communities these things are having. Actual racists. Because I am mixed race and the child of 2 immigrants. This is despite all my family always working. And several being net contributors. But the colour of my skin and my culture means they quite happily put me in ‘you people’

on the other hand op is also telling me I am part of that group that has made people afraid. Thugs and racists have made people afraid. Ineffective policing for over twenty years has made people afraid. Shit governments that have failed again and again have created this. Not ‘we’. I am not part of any group that’s created a country that’s made people afraid, despite having a white mother.

and it’s not new. It hasn’t come out of nowhere and feelings afraid to go out or go certain places isn’t restricted to certain races.

People like Op tie themselves in knots trying to be so enlightened they end up doing the opposite ‘we have created a country where people feel afraid’ is not really different to ‘you people have ruined the country’.

I recalled after 9 11 Muslims were made to apologise for the acts of the terrorists.
When they had nothings to do with it.
Same applies.
We need to distinguish between the two and not tarnish everyone with the same brush.

I really don't see why they don't use water cannons to make our streets safe from mob rule.
