New thread beacuse Bunglie needs the existing ones to be temporarily archived (and the last one was getting so-o-o-o-o long...)

OP posts:
tamum · 18/06/2004 21:28

Bunglie, I know we haven't really "spoken" much before, but that is such lovely news. I'm so so pleased for you. You can judge your dd's (very good) taste in wedding dresses here

Bunglie · 18/06/2004 21:33

Thanks for that Tanum. No water pistols for me. Definitely a motgage. I now understand why she suddenly became my daughter as far as the af was concerned I am sure he meant it nicely and it was a first refering to me as her mother. You have no idea how that makes me feel. I almost feel as if I am allowed to have children again.
Sorry, I need a good cry, (out of joy0
Back later

bunglie, I am soo happy to hear that it all went so well. I would call but I am in bed complete with awaiting bucket and stomach cramps. Dd was up all night, threw up this morning and now I've been throwing up all day, practically fainting in the toilet. Other than my pregnancies I haven't been this sick since I was a teenager and got food poisoning on a train from the south of france to italy. AND stupid dh thinks that that's not enough reason to skip the football. Luckily my aunts are visiting and can look after the kids while he's out at the pub.
Give us more details. What did he think of the bracelet? How is dd (you've got your abbreviation reversed)? How are her exams coming along. Where did monsoon come into it? It is a very nice high street shop with beautiful colorful clothes.

SofiaAmes · 18/06/2004 21:35

Are there special floating wheel chairs for floating people?

SofiaAmes · 18/06/2004 21:36

I think we'll have to all chip in for one as this sounds like things are really going to be great from now on. I think you should hug your ds, poor thing. He's missed a few over the years and needs them. My mum still hugs me when I'm feeling down and I'm 41.

mummytosteven · 18/06/2004 22:00

A Monsoon wedding dress is pretty cheap by wedding dress standards - you'ld be getting off relatively lightly - you'ld be hard pressed to find a weddding dress from a wedding dress shop under £500 these days! Monsoon isn't designer, but is the classier end of the high street without being exorbitant.

Glad it all went so well, and hope you can see ds and dd again soon

SofiaAmes · 18/06/2004 22:30

well, dh has just offered me ice cream and/or alcohol before going off to footy. I guess that's what he got growing up when he had a tummy bug.

Janh · 18/06/2004 22:33

Bunglie, I can't help feeling that I've missed a post or two along the line - like, when is DD getting married in her Monsoon dress, and who to, and what will the AM not be happy about????? But delighted to hear you sounding so incredibly thrilled and happy and long may it last!

(Did you actually say varoom? heeheehee !)

Sofia, sorry you're feeling so lousy, beety had (probably) the same thing last week and she lost 9lbs!

mummytosteven · 18/06/2004 22:39

poor you sofia- hope you are starting to feel better. I suppose that the ice cream/alcohol sounds like a bit of a kill or cure scenario. Have you got any ginger biscuits or ginger tea - that's good for settling the stomach? Last time dh had a bug like that the local Chinese takeaway kindly make me up tofu with ginger and spring onion - the only (highly specific!) meal that dh felt he could stomach so maybe if you try something like that when you next feel able to eat dinner? and plenty of sips of water to gradually rehydrate.

SofiaAmes · 18/06/2004 23:42

Oh dear, I don't have 9 lbs to lose. But dh does, think I'll give him a big kiss and make sure he gets it.
Yes thanks, I always keep fresh ginger in the house for sore throats. I'll get dh to make me a cup when he comes home not drunk (right!) as promised.

SofiaAmes · 18/06/2004 23:44

I missed the marriage post too. I think bunglie might have had a pint along with her ds (who turned into a dd halfway through the meal!).

kalex · 19/06/2004 00:12

Bunglie,

I am SOOOOO happy that it went well today. I think that cloud nine is too low, probably cloud 23.

Also missed the wedding bit, tell us more

Might be nice to send DS a text about the footie after it finishes, and say how much you enjoyed today, and just reaffirm the good feeling of the day.

Bunglie - I just can't say how happy it all went well

Janh · 19/06/2004 00:23

Sofia, I was going to say I wasn't sure where you could lose it from, but then thought beety might take that amiss, so didn't!

(Not that beety needed to lose it but I will stop digging now!)

no don't send text, england lost, i'm sure he won't want to be reminded. How come when I was pregnant and puking 5 times a day for the first 4 months, I gained weight (1 stone at least) in the first trimester and kept gaining all the way through (gained 3 stone with each preg).
ok, misery sets in. Dh is "trying" to find a taxi home, ds has fallen asleep in my bed and auntie2 (palpitation one) is slamming cupboards in the kitchen (not sure why and don't have strength to investigate). My muscles are totally sore, do you think taking nurofen will upset my stomach even more?

Bunglie · 19/06/2004 06:07

I shall post tomorrow, sorry I fell asleep, crying with happiness.
I must clear up one thing.
MT DD IS NOT GETTING MARRIED YET. She has just 'dumped' latest boyfriend. The 'Monsoon' wedding dress came up as we were discussing the Laura Ashley dress I was wearing today (not the green ball gown!). And for the FIRST TIME I was refered to as her mother. (ie so I could pay for the wedding!) but for me it was music to my ears. I have a daughter and she was refered to as MY daughter by the af. Quite a moment for me.
I am sorry about the confusion.

I must go back to bed now.
I will fill you in tomorrow. Cloud 123 is not high enough I am almost in outer space and rentering Earths atmosphere without 'booster rockets'.
Oh how I love you all and want to tell you of my day. I will I promise., but I must get some sleep.
So sorry you are feeling yucky Sofia. Perhaps you will vote lib/dem next time .
Sorry that was a bit mean of me, no one deserves to fee ill and your politics are your buisness. I seriously hope that you will be better soon.
Yes Janh I did say 'varoom'
So much to tell you about my wonderful ds and dd. I shall try to do it in a more coherant way tomorrow. Oh my ds has finished her 'As' levels (just) and she is a prefect!
More tomorrow and I am going to txt ds 2say thanx 4 cig me 2day & how much I enjoyed it.
Did france win then heee heee heee. I shall put on my olypic T-shirt with pride. Why am I laughing, I might not like footie but I don't like the french that much!
Hmmmm defintly bedtime.
Love Bunglie XXXXX

Bunglie · 19/06/2004 18:07

Uhg! I feel awful, move over Sofia.
I have been told to tell you Janh, that the bloke who's name began with Be was in goal and stopped Beckhams! (I hope that is right)
ds is going to have a conflict of interest soon apparently, because he has a Swiss girlfriend, and we are playing Switzerland. I hope he will be diplomatic!
More about Yesterday soon, but please I am so very sorry re dd getting married, she is not. she just want's a monsoon wedding dress, (oh in ivory white!).
More later but I need to do something now.
Bunglie. XX

Bunglie · 19/06/2004 18:16

No sorry Janh I got it wrong - The goalie who's name began with a 'B' was playing and it is his fault we lost becuse he stopped that footballer with a name like Beckham! From scorring a penality in extra time. whew! I knew that there was a reason I do not like football. Big men running around playing with their balls!

Kaz33 · 19/06/2004 18:36

Wow, I'm so glad that you had a fab day with your children and AF. No more than you deserve.

Bunglie · 19/06/2004 23:44

Hope you feel better Sofia, how long does it last
I so much want to tell you everything, but really feel a bit poorly, I am sure I shall be better in the morning.

Janh · 19/06/2004 23:47

Awww, Bunglie, sorry you're feeling rough, take it easy and look after yourself

SofiaAmes · 20/06/2004 00:04

ohh you poor thing. The good news is that it seems to only last 24 hours if that. I am feeling much better today.
May I suggest that you stick to fishing. Football is clearly not your strong point. By the way, the best part about when England plays is that Ikea is totally empty.

Bunglie · 20/06/2004 13:45

Glad you are back on your feet Sofia, hope the Aunts are not making life too difficult. I have just got up, feeling delicate, but the bucket has not been used for several hours!
You are correct, I think I will stick to fishing, I have not been able to do much this year, but I need a break, to wind down a bit.
All this football confuses me I even get my 'ds'and 'dd' mixed up. So I guess I would not know what team was what.
Beety- I have my 4 year old Olypic 2004 T-Shirt on so I am a cool retro dude!
Ok. I have a letter and have had a telephone call from my MP. So things are looking up, more later
And do you still want to know about my wonderful day on Sunday or is that 'old news'?
I want to text my son, any sugestions? I thought about. " Lovely 2 C U, I had a Gr8 time, I hope U did 2. Sorry about the footy! Look 4ward 2 the fishing, Luv Mum XX"
I am sure you have better suggestions.
Bunglie XX

GillW · 20/06/2004 14:08

Do we still want to know about your wonderful day?

We want to know .... We want to know .... we want to know.... (Sorry - all this football chanting is getting to me)

Janh · 20/06/2004 14:22

Do we still want to know? Is the Pope Catholic?
